ERBIL — The Iraqi parliament will hold a session on Thursday, 27th February, to vote on the new cabinet proposed by Prime Minister-designate Mohammed Allawi.

“Lawmakers will vote to give confidence to the new government, with the Prime Minister-designate sending the ministerial curriculum and CVs for the candidates ahead of the schedule,” reads a statement by the parliament.

The session is set to begin at 13:00 (Baghdad Time).

Allawi is facing multiple challenges and pressure from both political factions and the public to form the government. He has proposed 22 nominees for a complete lineup of his incoming cabinet.

I have a feeling that Allawi is cut from a different cloth. I do not think there will be significant delays. He will expose the corruption and feed the hard liners to the protestors. JMO of course.

Iraq will never be rid of corruption .. Allawi may try to control it if that is possible.

 BasNews   25/02/2020 - 11:11  Published in Kurdistan

ERBIL - A high-level delegation from the Kurdistan Region is set to visit Baghdad today to resume the talks on the formation of a new government.

Mohammed Sa'adadin, one of the delegates, told BasNews that the delegation includes representatives from different political parties to negotiate with Iraq's PM-designate Mohammed Allawi on Erbil's share from his cabinet.

He noted that the Kurdistan Region wants to ensure that its constitutional rights are preserved in the new government before it is announced.

Allawi is expected to announce his cabinet on Thursday, 27th February, while he is struggling to handle the disputes among the political parties in this regard.

Much Appreciated  Coorslite21, and 6ly410, I believe they should take this part slow. And get it right. Because if they dont all the last couple of weeks and probably all next month, will be waisted on more of trying to figure out who is going to fill what position. We all want them to move forward, but they're on there own time and they will take as much as they want including a couple vacation right in the middle of it. And GM DV
