Deputy for Al-Fateh: We released Allawi's hand and went towards voting for his government

02/22/2020 16:49:22

A member of the House of Representatives for the Al-Fath Alliance, Muhammad Karim, confirmed today, Saturday, that the alliance is moving towards voting for the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, who is charged with the prime minister, stating that they “released Allawi’s hand” and did not give him any name in the cabinet.

Karim said in a statement to {Al Furat News} that “there is a clear political division and it became known to the street about voting on the cab or not,” noting that “there are political blocs that go towards submitting a request for an extraordinary session in addition to the request of the resigned Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi In order to hold a session on Monday to vote on the Allawi government."

He added that "the presidency of the parliament is divided by the fact that the first deputy, Hassan Al-Kaabi, goes towards this proposition, that the session will be held on Monday, while the speaker of the parliament, Muhammad Al-Halbousi, and the second deputy, Bashir Al-Haddad, go toward the direction of the names of the ministerial cabinet. Their components, as they say, so there is a clear political split.

He continued: "Today, the Sunni blocs, and in particular the coalition of Iraqi forces, have an objection to the way to choose ministries and want to choose who represents them, given that, uh, it is the merit of a component as they claim." They should be away from quotas, political parties and blocs, and there should be no corruption files on them, they should be technically and administratively able to manage these ministries, and they should have a clear vision about running the ministry, and that they should not have files on accountability and justice or issues of integrity."

And Karim said, "The atmosphere started somewhat as a result of the failure to send the CVs to the ministers, as well as the lack of clarity in the government curriculum of the Prime Minister and everyone is waiting for him to present these names that he chose voluntarily and away from all parties." He pointed out that the Al-Fateh Alliance website "went towards launching Allawi's hand and gave him full freedom, and we are waiting for the names to see them and see the government curriculum."

He pointed out that "today the solution of the problems between the political forces and maintaining the political balance in foreign relations, taking into account all existing sects and components, preserving the gains made by the victories and the security situation, meeting the demands of the demonstrators and making investments and moving forward with the China agreement and setting up a mechanism to preserve the support of the Iraqi army and its counterpart the popular crowd from The priorities of the next government." And Karim added: "I believe that the Prime Minister should start offering the cabinet, show him his government approach, and have a clear-cut streak with known timing times, through which he can know the level of progress that the next government will achieve." He indicated, "We are proposing a vote on the government to end the tense situation." In the country and stopping Iraqi blood."

The leader of the Kurdistan National Union, Mahmoud Khoshnaw, confirmed on Saturday that the United States supported him to pass the formation of the government, which was tasked with forming Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi.

"Tomorrow, he will witness another round of negotiations with Allawi, and they are serious about passing the Allawi government," Khoshnau said in a statement followed by "Al-Akhbariya".

He pointed out that "politicians are seeking to cause a white coup by supporting the demonstrations, and the Kurds are not afraid to amend the constitution."

He continued, "The Kurds are afraid of ending the partnership unilaterally," noting that "Rizgar Amin and Shawan Taha are respected personalities, but we object to the mechanism of their nomination."

Let's see if parliament actually shows up Monday. Their well earned vacation is supposed to end first week of March. And we all know, it's hard to give up a hard earned week off just to do something that will benefit the rest of the country. Hopefully most of these fools will be out of jobs with the new elections. Dare I say......soon??

IRAQ'S PARLIAMENTARY LEADERSHIP TO MEET MONDAY, EYEING WEDNESDAY SESSION FOR CABINET PRESENTATION

Facing resistance from Kurdish, Sunni blocs
Council of Representatives (File Photo)

SULAIMANI — Speakers of the Council of Representatives Mohammed al-Halbusi said on Sunday (February 23) that he would meet with his two deputy speakers on Monday to consider a request for an extraordinary session of parliament where Prime Minister-designate Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi is expected to present his proposed cabinet.

Last week, Allawi had called for a session on Monday, but had met resistance from the Sunni and Kurdish blocs in parliament, who are looking for ways to exert more influence over the process and select ministers hailing from their communities.

Halbusi’s announcement of the meeting comes after First Deputy Speaker Hassan al-Kaabi said that they were aiming to hold the extraordinary session on Wednesday.

Several lawmakers had objected to holding the session earlier saying that they had not received the CVs of Allawi’s proposed ministers within the 48-hour window mandated by the parliament’s by-laws.

Here we go. Delaying to put more money in their corrupt pockets.
Fingers crossed delays won’t carry out over months of disagreements.
With COV19 hitting Iraq, they could order the streets cleared and keep putting money from the auctions in their pockets.

I hope for positivity!!

 Thanks 6ly

What a bunch criminals . . . I've been expecting some   :bs: like this ! ! !  This is the Iraq we've come to know. . . CAN"T EVER trust them to do whatever it is they say on whatever the issue is.

Kick the can down the road, delay & postpone and I'm sure there will be strings attached to " supporting the Allawi government ". I fully expect sand bagging & foot dragging to throw this right off the rails and into a full blown crisis ( hope I'm wrong on that score ).

Iraq is a money laundering operation to keep Iran [ and to continue to line the pockets of the Iraqi criminal politicians & their cronies ] propped up, diminishing the effects of sanctions.

Anyone think Iran and its proxy Iraqi stooge politicians are going to let THAT go ? There will be a lot more bloodshed before this is over.

Kurdistan Political Leadership to Meet and Discuss Formation of New Iraqi Gov’t.

Kurdistan Political Leadership to Meet and Discuss Formation of New Iraqi Gov’t.

ERBIL - The three presidencies of the Kurdistan Region are set to meet with officials from other political parties on Monday to discuss the latest affairs on the formation of a new government in Baghdad.

Speaking to Kurdistan 24, Dilshad Shahab, adviser to Kurdistan Region's President Nechirvan Barzani, pointed out that Prime Minister Masrour Barzani and Parliament Speaker Rewaz Fayiq will also attend the meeting.

The three top officials will discuss with the Kurdistan Region's delegation to Baghdad the recent developments in Iraq, focusing on the outcome of a previous meeting between the Kurdish delegates and Iraq's PM-designate Mohammed Allawi.

A delegation from the Kurdistan Region was in Baghdad last week before they ended their talks with Allawi on Friday, blaming him for not showing "any respect for the political and legal standing of the Kurdistan Region."

Allawi, who had repeatedly claimed that his future government will be "independent," had called for an extraordinary session to be held on Monday for voting on his cabinet, but the session was delayed until Wednesday next week.
