The Iraqi Private Banking Association concluded, on Thursday, a course on "developing the skills of bank branch managers", with the participation of 42 trainees from government and private banks, at its headquarters in Baghdad.

The session was held in cooperation with the Center for Banking Studies at the Central Bank of Iraq and a group of joint efforts.

The participants in the course were introduced to the most important challenges facing the transformation in the banking business environment, as well as the concepts of planning and management in the banking business and the primary role of the banking branches.

The session targeted branch managers, their deputies, their assistants, bank transfer employees and branch operations managers.

 Al-Rafidain Bank announced the opening of documentary credits to state ministries, merchants and private sector companies with soft commissions.

The bank’s media office said in a statement that the Al Furat News Agency received a copy of it.

He pointed out that "opening the documentary credit for the merchants who carry out the operations of importing and exporting their goods and shipping and taking them out in case they conform to the legal conditions is easy with the bank because the Rafidain Bank is a government agency and therefore the completion of the documentary opening letter of credit is according to quick procedures that differ from other banks."

The Association of Iraqi Private Banks announced the allocation of part of the one trillion dinar initiative launched by the Central Bank of Iraq to support citizens to purchase housing units for an amount not to exceed 75 million dinars and with a repayment period not exceeding 10 years.

The Executive Director of the Association of Iraqi Private Banks, Ali Tariq, said in a press statement received by "Al-Iqtisad News", that "in support of the Iraqi Central Bank and private banks to solve the housing crisis that the country has been living in for a long time, they decided to launch a 75 million dinar loan for all Iraqis wishing to purchase housing units." Ready and with a repayment period of 10 years, "noting that the Central Bank of Iraq directed all banks participating in the one trillion dinar initiative to allocate a portion of the funds to support the housing sector."

He added that the loan interest will be 4% per annum, and the central bank urged private banks to put preferential interest and increase the level of competitiveness by making the interest less than 4% in an attempt to reduce the debt burden on the one hand and attract government employees to settlement in banks, increase financial inclusion and reduce hoarding.

Tariq noted the support of private banks for the housing sector and the alleviation of the housing crisis that will contribute to moving the Iraqi economy, and increase job opportunities, since the housing sector contributes to moving other sectors.

Private Banks Association: recent central bank decisions contribute to increasing e-Commerce The Association of Iraqi private banks announced that the central bank of Iraq has taken a series of actions to encourage citizens to use electronic payment tools and gradually move from cash to e-Commerce, showing that these decisions are in the interest of citizens and traders and will contribute to increasing e-Commerce in Iraq. The Executive Director of the association of Iraqi private banks, Ali Tarek, said that the current situation required us to use electronic payment tools and avoid cash in order to avoid the Iraqi economy problems caused by cash. The Central Bank of Iraq had taken a series of actions to encourage citizens to use e-Payment, including making the commission zero for rent when using points of sale and for six months starting today, as well as providing new products and banking financial services suitable for all Groups of society,

 

explaining that the Iraqi citizen can buy with his bank card from inside and outside Iraq without any commission and using the official exchange rate adopted by the central bank and not the exchange rate on the market.

 

He stressed that there was a quantity of importance for retailers and big traders using e-payment tools, including increasing their financial revenues and combining e-Commerce and traditional trade together, allowing retailers to showcase their goods on their websites and other sites such as Facebook and Facebook and sell it directly to citizens and receive the money of the goods at the same moment with consumer protection and avoid commercial fraud. He stressed that the owners of hotels, restaurants and other stores can also maintain their customers and increase their income by introducing the incentives system of giving points to the customer when its purchases reach $ 100, for example it will get On a gift or one night stay free at the hotel and others. The increase in e-payment tools depends heavily on the citizen. E-payments companies conducted a wide campaign to educate and publish their devices for free. E-payment also contributes to the reduction of losses to the owners of the stores and the dimensions of theft by directly deposit money in His bank account with bank interest. The increase in e-payments users would contribute to attracting the large cash mass in homes over $ 30 billion into the banking sector and entering the economic cycle to contribute to the development of the Iraqi economy.

$30 billion dollars = 35.7 trillion IQD in chunky money 


Personally, I don’t believe there’s 35.7 trillion IQD stashed at homes.
