The quorum for holding the session was not achieved due to the continuing differences between the parliamentary blocs.

On Thursday, the Chamber of Representatives witnessed verbal exchanges between the Speaker and his first deputy.

The correspondent of the "information" said that Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi entered into a verbal argument with his deputy, Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi, following the decision to postpone the session to give confidence to the new government.

He added, Al-Kaabi refrained from postponing the session, stayed inside the hall, and invited the deputies to enter.

On Thursday, the Presidency of the House of Representatives raised the session of giving confidence to the new government, to another notice formally.

The deputy of the Al-Fateh Alliance Fadel Al-Fatlawi confirmed that the political blocs agreed to postpone the session of granting confidence to the government of Prime Minister Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi until Sunday to resolve the political differences between the Kurds, Sunnis and Shiite blocs. 25 h finished

Speaker of the House of Representatives Muhammad Al-Halbousi received, today, Thursday, the Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi in his office.

A statement of Al-Halbousi’s office, which was received by Al-Akhbariya, stated, “Today, Thursday, in the presence of First Deputy Hassan Al-Kaabi, Prime Minister-designate Mohammed Tawfiq Allawi, Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Al-Halbousi, in his office.”

These meetings come to complement the discussions that are taking place to pass the government of Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi.

Member of Parliament, Faeq Al-Sheikh Ali, confirmed today, Thursday, that the quorum of the session to grant confidence to the government of Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi was broken due to the threats of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada Al-Sadr.

Sheikh Ali said in a tweet on his personal page on Twitter followed by "Al-Akhbaria", that "everyone who asked him today about why he did not attend the parliament session and broke the quorum? Is it because of your objection to Muhammad Allawi and his cabinet formation," noting that "most of the deputies confirmed Their breaking of the quorum came because of the threats of Mr. Muqtada al-Sadr! ".

He added, "Al-Sadr can threaten 54 of his deputies, but he cannot threaten another 275 representatives."

The Presidency of the Council of Representatives decided to postpone the holding of the confidence-giving session to the interim government until next Saturday, due to the lack of a quorum to hold the session.
