The Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, has reported the date of completion of the cabinet, for the new government, to be ready to vote in front of the Iraqi parliament.

The deputy of the State of Law coalition Ali Al-Ghanmi told Shafaq News that "Prime Minister-designate Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi told the political forces that the completion of the cabinet booth, for the new government, will be ready, tomorrow, Sunday."

And he stated that "tomorrow after the announcement of Allawi, the readiness of the ministerial cabinet, perhaps the Iraqi Council of Representatives, on Monday, Tuesday, or another day of the current week, will determine its special session to vote giving confidence to Allawi and his government."

Meanwhile, Mohammed Allawi said in a tweet to him on Twitter, "We are close to achieving a historic achievement, which is the completion of an independent ministerial cabinet of the competent and impartial without the intervention of any political party."

He added that "we will put the names of this booth this week if away from rumors and leaks, and we hope members of Parliament will respond and vote on them in order to start implementing the people's demands."

It is assumed that Allawi, who was named Prime Minister after a difficult consensus reached by the political blocs, will present his formation to Parliament before the second of next March to vote on it, according to the constitution.

Since October 1, Baghdad and the predominantly Shiite cities of the south have been witnessing demonstrations calling for early elections and fighting corruption, which prompted former Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi to resign.

The protesters denounced the appointment of Muhammad Allawi by President Barham Ahmed Salih to form the new government, and they demanded that he step down and be commissioned to another that enjoys the acceptability of the popular movement.

Baghdad today - Baghdad

A close associate of the Prime Minister-designate, Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, head of the Bairaq Al-Khair bloc, Muhammad Al-Khaldi, commented on Sunday (16 February 2020) on the news of “buying and selling” ministerial positions in the Allawi government, while stressing that no one knows the names of the ministers.

Al-Khalidi said, in a televised interview: "There is neither buying nor selling, in the mechanism of selecting ministers," noting that this process "was previously when the parties were appointing their ministers."

He added, "The Prime Minister-designate is the only one who knows, and no one else, the names of the ministers, and one day before he will present the names to the deputies who nominated him and to the political blocs," stressing: "I am one of the closest people, and I do not know the names that were chosen for the cabinet cabinet."

He explained: "We have given confidence to the Prime Minister, and let him choose his cabinet to take responsibility. This is a new way in which we can form a ministry on a new style that differs from its predecessors."

He pointed out that Allawi "observed the components, so that there would be no objection from this section, by choosing a representative of the component and not a representative of a component of a particular party."

He believed that "Allawi will succeed in his choices because he has experience and he is one of the smart personalities in the political process."

On Sunday (February 16, 2020), a member of the House of Representatives, Bassem Khashan, confirmed that the operations of "selling" government positions had not stopped for 17 years in Iraq.

Khashan told (Baghdad Today) that "the sale of government positions in Iraq has not stopped for 17 years, starting with special grades, and above, and even positions of the minister's office manager or assistant general manager, but even the matter of small jobs."

Khashan added, "Law No. 44 of 2008 which was canceled on October 31, 2019 by the Federal Court stipulated that special grades are distributed to political parties according to their representation," noting that "the parties took advantage of the matter in different directions."

Khashan pointed out that "he does not exclude the sale of ministerial posts, because any party that obtains a ministry will try to invest in a manner that provides him with supportive funds for his political and economic bodies, filling his bank accounts, and preserving contracts and deals," and asked, "How can parties secure money to spend on their offices, employees and campaigns?" Media and its channels.

Yesterday, Saturday, the Supreme Judicial Council directed the Al-Karkh Investigation Court to conduct an urgent investigation regarding the offer of funds in exchange for assuming positions in the government to be formed.
