Information / Follow up

The Iranian Atomic Energy Organization considered that the imposition of sanctions on its president, Ali Akbar Salehi, was a "worthless political game" and evidence of the "despair" of the United States.

A spokesman for the Iranian organization, Herhroz Kamalundi, said: " Iran will continue its nuclear program strongly, despite US sanctions. Washington withdrew from the nuclear agreement and violated its obligations and is not in a position to express its opinion on Iran 's commitment to its obligations.

He added: "Imposing sanctions on the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization is a childish measure that has no value and no consideration."

The US Treasury Department announced earlier today, Thursday, the imposition of sanctions against the Iranian Atomic Energy Organization and its chief, Ali Akbar Salehi, that included freezing the assets of the organization, and prohibiting all dealings with it for American bodies and citizens of the United States.

And Washington last November canceled exemptions for the "Fordo" nuclear reactor, following Tehran's decision to resume uranium enrichment and operate the nuclear facility in Iran . 25 n ended

US sanctions Iran’s Atomic Energy Agency

WASHINGTON DC (Kurdistan 24) – The US announced on Thursday that it was imposing new sanctions on Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization, as well as the head of the organization, Ali Akbar Salehi.

Although Salehi was born in Karbala, his parents were Iranian, and he is an Iranian national. His study of nuclear issues began during the time of the Shah, who initiated Iran’s nuclear program, when the country was aligned with the US.

Salehi, after receiving a bachelor’s degree in physics from the American University of Beirut, obtained his doctorate in 1977 in nuclear engineering from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), one of America’s leading centers for the study of science and engineering (Salehi’s dissertation, “Resonance region neutronics of unit cells in Fast and Thermal Reactors,” can be downloaded from MIT’s website.)

Brian Hook, US Special Representative for Iran, announced the new sanctions, explaining that the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) “has played a big role in Iran breaching its key nuclear commitments.”

In particular, Hook emphasized the importance of the international community’s restoring an earlier goal regarding Iran’s nuclear program: that Iran not be allowed to enrich uranium. “That standard was abandoned under the [2015] Iran nuclear deal,” Hook stated, “and it needs to be restored.”

On Saturday, the AEOI announced that it had the capacity to enrich uranium to any level it wanted—although that is a violation of the nuclear deal, which imposes limits on Iran’s uranium enrichment.

Since May 2018, when the US withdrew from the Iranian nuclear accord, it has been imposing ever tighter sanctions on Iran in an effort to force Tehran to negotiate a new, much broader agreement. A year later, in May 2019, Iran announced that it would begin reducing its commitments under the accord, and has been doing so since then.

Hook also announced that the US, in concert with the government of Switzerland, had established a new framework for the shipment of humanitarian supplies to Iran which would prevent the diversion of such material for corrupt purposes.

“A few months ago, we announced that we were working with the Swiss on a new financial channel for humanitarian goods,” he said, as he explained that the US had recently “completed the sale and delivery of cancer drugs and transplant drugs to Iran.”

The Iranian regime regularly misused what was intended as humanitarian support, Hook stated. Calling the regime a “Marxist, theocratic, kleptocracy,” he said that it “has a history of using front companies disguised as humanitarian organizations” and “when food or medicine or medical devices are then processed, the regime diverts them,” using them “for the regime elite” or selling them “on the black market to raise revenue for the government.”

Hook noted that last year, the chief of staff to Iranian President Hassan Rouhani sent ministers a letter, asking them to explain the “‘disappearance’ of over one billion Euros intended for medical supplies.”

Reportedly, two million Euros meant for heart stents was spent on electrical cable, Hook said. “$180 million for medical supplies were instead spent on tobacco and cigarette paper.”

The new US channel through Switzerland is intended to ensure that the Iranian people receive the humanitarian supplies intended for them, Hook affirmed, and “we want companies to take advantage of the exemption in our sanctions regime for food, medicine, medical devices, and agricultural products.”

After the first attempt failed ... Iran is preparing to launch an observation satellite

The head of the Iranian National Satellite Agency said on Saturday that his country was preparing to launch "within a few days" a new surveillance satellite, called "Zafar".

"He started manufacturing Zafar three years ago with the participation of 80 Iranian scientists," Mortada Berari told France Press, without specifying the exact date of its launch.

He added that the moon weighs 113 kg and can rotate 15 times around the Earth a day, and it will be placed on orbit some 530 km from the Earth by the Simurgh launch pad, noting that the moon was designed to be operational for a period of "more than 18 months".

The official added that the "main mission" of the moon would be to "collect scenes," stressing Iran's need for this, especially to study earthquakes, prevent them, "prevent natural disasters" and develop agriculture.

ON THE LINK

Imam Khomeini space center explosion .. Iran recognizes

"It comes to a new stage for our country," Berari said, recalling that in the past Iran had managed to put a satellite into orbit, 250 kilometers from Earth.

While Iran's satellite program is a matter of concern to Western countries, the Iranian official affirmed that his country is striving for a "peaceful use of space" and that "all of our space activities are transparent."

He also indicated that his organization intends to finish manufacturing "five other satellites by the end of the (Iranian) year 1399," meaning March 2021.

And Tehran announced in January 2019 the failure of the Payam Moon in orbit, which was intended to collect data on environmental change in Iran.

The moon rocket launch was preceded by warnings from Washington that it described the matter as a "provocation" and a violation of International Resolution 2231.

This decision calls on Iran to "refrain from any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be able to transfer nuclear charges, including launches that use ballistic missile technology."

Tehran asserts that it does not have any projects to acquire a nuclear weapon and that its ballistic and space programs are legitimate and do not violate Resolution 2231.

To save the "nuclear agreement" .. the "European" foreign minister visits Iran

Will Europe succeed in saving the nuclear deal?

February 02, 2020

Will Europe succeed in saving the nuclear deal?

The Iranian Foreign Ministry announced an official visit to the European Union's Foreign Minister, Josep Borrell, to Tehran on Monday.

A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Mousavi, said that Borrell "will arrive tomorrow (Monday) in Iran for the first time since he took office (early December)."

He stated that he was scheduled to meet the Foreign Minister, Muhammad Javad Zarif, and other prominent officials in the country for consultations, but he did not reveal its content.

This visit comes at a time when Iran's nuclear file is causing tension between Tehran and the European Union countries.

ON THE LINK

To pressure the nuclear deal ... Iran is raising a "weak card" in the face of the Europeans

Iran is seeking to back down from its obligations on the nuclear agreement signed in 2015, justifying this by claiming sanctions imposed on its regime.

In 2015, Iran signed a nuclear agreement with three European countries (France, Britain and Germany) along with China, Russia and the United States, which later announced its withdrawal from the agreement.

The agreement over Tehran's nuclear program has been in deep crisis since US President Donald Trump withdrew from the agreement on May 8, 2018.

Trump imposed painful sanctions on the Iranian regime, targeting various sectors of its economy, including oil, as the United States accuses Iran of supporting terrorism, meddling in other countries ’affairs and seeking nuclear weapons.

Zarif's offer to negotiate with Washington creates a rift with Rouhani

Hassan Rouhani and Mohammed Jawad Zarif

Over the past days, angry reactions by militants against the Iranian Foreign Minister, Mohammad Javad Zarif, over Tehran's willingness to hold negotiations with the United States have continued even after the killing of the Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani in a US raid on January 2, provided that the sanctions are lifted.

In the latest of these responses, Mahdi Taib, commander of the headquarters of "Ammar", one of the hard-line pressure groups close to the Iranian guide, Ali Khamenei, said that Zarif's statements had caused a rift between Zarif and the Iranian President, Hassan Rouhani.

"No political or security analyst believed that the weak Iranian attack on American assets in Iraq, after the killing of the commander of the Quds Force ...

An American researcher reveals the secrets of Iran's and Hezbollah's activities in western America

According to the Iranian news agency, "IRNA", Tayeb said in a speech to a mosque in Qom, on Saturday, that "Zarif is tired of Rouhani because the latter forced him to cross the red lines of the regime."

Taib claimed that "Zarif said in an interview with the guide that he was forced to cross the red lines," adding: "It was clear that he was forced by Rouhani."

Violent attack

Mahdi Taib, brother of Hussein Taib, head of the Revolutionary Guards Intelligence Service, considered that Rouhani made Zarif a shield against the fundamentalists, as he put it.

He also held the government responsible for the high cost and deterioration of the living conditions of citizens, saying that the situation was exacerbated by mismanagement and failure to manage the economy.

The statements of Mehdi Taib come as part of a violent attack against Zarif because of his recent statements preceded by criticism of the representative of the Iranian guide, Ali Khamenei, in the province of Khorasan in eastern Iran, Ahmed Alam Al-Hadi, who said in his Friday prayer sermon that "the result of the negotiations was the maximum pressure on our people."

A request to dismiss Zarif

To that, fundamentalist deputies demanded that the foreign minister, Muhammad Jawad Zarif, be questioned before the Shura Council (parliament) and withdraw confidence from him because of his statements.

The MP, Mohammad Reza Pour Ibrahimi, said that 23 MPs have filed a lawsuit against Zarif, and that other MPs have asked him to apologize to the Iranian people.

Meanwhile, Ali Shirazi, the delegate of the Iranian Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, in the Quds Force, said that he "does not negotiate with the enemies of Qassem Soleimani," in response to Zarif's statements, who recently renewed his call for negotiations with America on condition that the sanctions be lifted.

Shirazi was speaking during his visit to the Qasem Soleimani tomb, in Kerman Province, in southern Iran, last Wednesday, where he stressed "neither the Iranian regime and people, nor even the resistance front, allows negotiations with General Soleimani's enemies to take place."

Trump: No thanks

The Iranian Foreign Minister, Javad Zarif, had announced in an interview with the German magazine "Der Spiegel", last Sunday, that his country would not exclude negotiations with Washington, even after the killing of the Quds Force Commander of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, if the United States changed course. The sanctions were lifted.

But US President Donald Trump rejected Zarif's offer to negotiate with Iran on the condition that sanctions be lifted, and Trump said in a tweet in English and Persian on his Twitter account: "The Iranian foreign minister says that his country wants to negotiate with the United States, but it wants to lift the sanctions. No thanks . "

There were loud voices condemning inside Iran, with a nice offer to negotiate despite the death of Soleimani, and there are calls by hard-line lawmakers to interrogate him before the Shura Council (Parliament).

It is mentioned that with the February 21 parliamentary elections approaching, which the reformists consider "well-known results in advance," due to the prevention of nominations by 90% of their candidates, the fundamentalists and other extremist currents intensified their attack against Rouhani and Zarif with the aim of forming a hard-line parliament that rejects negotiations, in preparation for forming a hard-line government also after The presidential elections next year.

Iran to execute alleged spy who gave nuclear secrets to CIA

Two others accused of spying have each been sentenced to 15 years jail

The Iranian authorities say the convicted man, Amir Rahimpour, will be executed ‘soon’

TEHRAN, Iran: Iran said Tuesday that its top court confirmed a death sentence for an Iranian man convicted of spying for the CIA, with state media alleging that he had shared details of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear program with the American spy agency.
Judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili identified the purported spy as Amir Rahimpour and said he would be executed soon. Esmaili did not elaborate on what Rahimpour was accused of doing, nor on his age or background. State media did not immediately name Rahimpour’s lawyer.
However, a report by the state-run IRNA news agency alleged that Rahimpour received money from the CIA to share details of Iran’s nuclear program.
“While being in touch with the spy agency, he earned a lot of money as wages as he tried to deliver some information from Iran’s nuclear program to the American agency,” the IRNA report said. Rahimpour “had been identified and prosecuted and sentenced to death and recently, the country’s National Supreme Court confirmed the sentence and, God willing, he will be punishéd soon.”
The CIA did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Esmaili said two other alleged spies for the CIA each received 15-year prison sentences — 10 years for spying and five years for acting against national security charges.
Esmaili did not name those arrested, only saying they worked in the “charitable field,” without elaborating.
Iran in the past has sentenced alleged American and Israeli spies to death. The last such spy executed was Shahram Amiri, who defected to the US at the height of Western efforts to thwart Iran’s nuclear program. When he returned in 2010, he was welcomed with flowers by government leaders and even went on the Iranian talk-show circuit. Then he mysteriously disappeared.
He was hanged in August 2016, the same week that Tehran executed a group of militants and a year after Iran agreed to a landmark accord to limit uranium enrichment in exchange for the lifting of economic sanctions.
Tensions remain high between Iran and the US since President Donald Trump unilaterally withdrew America from Tehran’s nuclear deal. A US drone strike in January killed Iranian Revolutionary Guard Gen. Qassem Soleimani in Baghdad, a targeted killing that prompted Tehran to launch a retaliatory ballistic missile strike on Iraqi bases housing American troops.
Before the deal, a computer virus believed to be designed by the US and Israel destroyed Iranian centrifuges. Meanwhile, Iranian nuclear scientists were targeted in a series of assassinations.

Continue / ... Maj. Gen. Hussein Dehghan, Advisor to Iranian Leader Ali Khamenei, on defense affairs, confirmed that his country stands with the resistance, and will face American attempts to starve the people by fasting.

"We should know the tools and methods of the enemy, and then go about confronting them. If America besieges us and wants to starve us, we must use a speech and style that was available at the Imam Khomeini school, and prove to the enemy in response to its siege that we are eligible to fast ... With this tool we defeat the control of the enemies," Dahkan said. .

"The path to salvation and prosperity is faith in God. There is no victory, but there are serious opponents and many obstacles, so there is always a struggle between truth and falsehood," he added.

He continued, "In all stages of the revolution, we had the right inspiration or victory ... There must be resistance along the way to remove obstacles from this path." Finished 2

Another Iranian attempt to launch a satellite

After unsuccessful attempts ... Iran begins a "countdown" to launch a satellite

February 09, 2020

Another Iranian attempt to launch a satellite

Send via media

 Print the article

The Iranian Minister of Communications announced that his country started the "countdown" on Sunday to launch a new scientific observation satellite within hours.

The United States has expressed concern about Iran's satellite program, calling the carrier rocket launch in January 2019 a "provocation."

"The countdown to the launch of the moon + Zafar + started in the next few hours," Communications Minister Muhammad Javad Azari Jahromi wrote in a tweet.

On the first of February, the head of the Iranian National Space Agency said that the moon, which weighs 113 kg and can rotate 15 times around the Earth a day, will be placed on orbit some 530 km from Earth by the Simorgh launcher.

Mortada Berari told AFP that the "main mission" of the moon would be to "collect scenes", stressing Iran's need for this, especially to study earthquakes, prevent them, "prevent natural disasters" and develop agriculture.

And in January 2019, Tehran announced that the Payam satellite, which was dedicated to collecting data on environmental change in Iran, had failed to orbit.

The United States considered the launch of the carrier missile in violation of International Resolution 2231. This resolution calls on Iran to "not carry out any activity related to ballistic missiles designed to be able to transport nuclear charges, including launches that use ballistic missile technology."

Tehran asserts that it has no intention of acquiring a nuclear weapon and that its ballistic and space programs are legitimate and do not violate Resolution 2231.

Iran confirmed in September that an explosion occurred in one of its platforms for launching satellites due to a technical failure.

In response to a tweet in which he was asked what would happen if the moon failed "a nail" similar to the previous moon, Jahromi said, "We will try again."

Internet services in Iran have faced cyberattacks in the past two days, according to the ministry. The authorities did not specify the source of the attack or its possible motives.

The Iranian economy is suffering from a deterioration due to the sanctions imposed by Washington on the Iranian regime, which leads nuclear activities, and others destabilizing the region. Corruption has caused citizens to take to the streets more than once to demand a change in the system and the achievement of public freedoms in the country.

The new Thunder 500 missile

A month after the Ukrainian plane disaster ... Iran celebrates a new missile

February 09, 2020

The new Thunder 500 missile

Despite the crises that Iran suffers from due to its arms race, the Revolutionary Guards announced the launch of a new missile called "Raad 500", about a month after the disaster of bringing down the Ukrainian plane in a disaster that killed 176 people.

The Revolutionary Guards said that the missile carries a new generation of propulsion engines bearing the name "Zuhair", as it can withstand pressure (Bar100) and a temperature of three thousand degrees Celsius, according to the Israeli newspaper " Jerusalem Post ".

The missile has a length of about 13 meters, which is equivalent to the height of eight people, and it can reach beyond 200 kilometers from the range of the "light" missile, especially since it is light in weight and uses fiber fibers.

Despite the US sanctions and the difficult economic conditions the population is living in, the authorities are making efforts and money to develop missiles and weapons, which have been proven more than once to use them against targets in the region, not to mention smuggling them to the Lebanese Hezbollah.

Tehran has launched cruise missiles at oil facilities belonging to Saudi Arabia, and has launched ballistic missiles at an Iraqi military base hosting American forces.

And local media published video clips of the new missile that can carry light satellites and surface-to-surface missiles, as well as pictures of the Commander-in-Chief of the Revolutionary Guard Hussein Salami, accompanied by the head of the Iranian Space Agency Ali Haji, in what appeared to be an announcement of the new missile.

Reports say that Tehran wants to manufacture more solid fuel missiles for the battles, as it will depend on reducing costs in order to increase production, as it has found it lost in carbon fibers.

In addition to the Raad missile, the Revolutionary Guards announced the "Salman" engines, which are made of lighter steel materials but equipped with a "moving nozzle" to send satellites into space.

Iran has a group of missiles in its military arsenal, which includes Shahab 3, which has a range of 2000 kilometers, and Fateh and Fajr with a range of 50 meters, and the Raad 500 missile, which has a range of 500 kilometers.
Iran's satellite and missile programs raise Western fears, while Tehran insists it does not violate any UN resolutions.

Satellite failure and alleged attacks ... What is happening in Iran?

An Iranian missile carrying a satellite failed to put it into orbit, in the latest failure of a program the United States believes is helping to advance Tehran's ballistic missile program.

The authorities at the Imam Khomeini space port in Samnan province failed to launch the missile after two failed attempts last year and a missile exploded at a launch pad at the facility.

Meanwhile, the Iranian authorities claim that Internet services were partially cut off from the country by an electronic attack that disrupted internet service providers Sunday, due to cyber attacks (DDoS).

The NetBlocks organization monitored the partial shutdown of Internet services in the country at 25 percent, while services remained available for 75 percent of subscriptions.

A report released by Forbes website indicated that it is not uncommon for DDoS countries to be used for cyberattack, hinting that there is a long series of "alleged" cyberattacks against Iranian infrastructure.

The report stated that the "alleged" attack comes in the wake of the delay in launching an Iranian observation satellite that should have been launched on Sunday, according to a report by Radio Farda, which raised questions in light of Morteza Barari, head of the Iranian Space Organization, that the launch will take place at the first opportunity when all Thing.

On Sunday, the attempt to launch the Iranian satellite again failed, May Sher, to Tehran's inability to successfully launch it.

The Internet outage in the country raised questions, most notably whether the delay in launching the satellite was related to the cyberattack or not?

Sajid Punabi, an official at the Iranian Ministry of Communications, said on Twitter, "An attack at 08:14 GMT to disrupt the digital servers is causing disruption to the internet services provided by some fixed and cellular providers."

The official did not specify the source of the attack, which was intended to order unnecessary requests from servers in order to disable them, which are known as DDoS attacks.

He added that "the connection to the Internet returned to normal after the intervention of the electronic security shield - the digital castle.

NetBlocks noted that although no technical errors appeared on the Internet in Iran, the problems occurred "coinciding with targeted targeting."

And Tehran announced in December that it would repel a "well-organized cyber attack" targeting "public service infrastructure on the Internet."

Communications Minister Muhammad Javad Azari Jahrami said that what happened was "very intense" and "with state support."

Last September, Tehran denied that hundreds of oil platforms were exposed to turmoil after being subjected to an electronic attack.

In the wake of blocking Internet services during the recent demonstrations in Iran, Washington announced last November to impose sanctions on Iranian Communications Minister Muhammad Javad Azri Jahrami, because of his responsibility to block the web and impose restrictions on many text messaging applications to prevent communication between protesters, in line with what it is witnessing The country from a wave of widespread protests.

US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin stressed at the time that "Iranian officials are aware that the presence of a free and open internet in the country reveals their illegitimacy, and therefore they seek to impose restrictions on them, in order to stifle anti-regime demonstrations."

He explained that this minister was subject to sanctions because of his responsibility to impose restrictions on the ability to "access the Internet, including restrictions on many popular messaging applications that help keep Iranians in contact with each other and with the outside world."

Under the new sanctions, all of the Secretary's financial assets are frozen, and the benefits of real estate he owns in the United States, if any. This decision also prevents US citizens or companies from dealing with the minister.
