Baghdad Governorate: Preparing Draft Strategic Projects Within The Agreement With China

%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%A7%D8%AA%D9%81%D8%A7%D9%

[27th January, 2020

Baghdad Governorate intends to prepare draft projects that include hospitals, schools, power stations and residential complexes to include them within the agreement with China, stressing that it has included a project to create the six entrances to Baghdad with designs and a modern vision within the draft projects.

The technical aide of Baghdad Governorate, Faris Majeed, said in a statement reported by the official "Al-Sabah" newspaper and his "independent" follower today, Monday, that "the province faced during the past years the problem of stopping a large number of its projects due to the financial crisis that the country went through and the lack of financial allocations allocated to the local Baghdad government." , Noting that "the province has not received for years the sums of the development budget for the regions and consequently the important and strategic projects were stopped in a way that was reflected in the level of services provided to the citizens."

Majeed added, "The governorate is working to take the necessary measures to implement infrastructure services and projects with high amounts that cannot be spent on them by adopting different financing methods," noting that "the agreement with China is the best method of financing at the present time."

He noted that "the governorate had a presence in the delegation headed by the Prime Minister to China, and therefore the meetings and meetings held with the Chinese side proved largely that the agreement will launch with important and strategic big projects, especially in the capital of Baghdad because it is in urgent need of large strategic projects implemented within it."

And he disclosed in the same context that "the introduction of such projects into effect will contribute greatly to solving the problems of infrastructure and services that have direct contact with the citizen, because the development budget of the regions is not sufficient to accomplish large projects with high costs", stressing that "the province is about to include a number of projects within The aforementioned agreement, which includes sewers, water and electricity stations, hospitals and advanced complexes that include schools and universities, as well as the establishment of housing complexes with modern and advanced designs, noting that the province has a promising and important project that will be part of the agreement, which is the six entrances to Baghdad. And he added that "the governorate prepared more than six months ago a new study for the project to develop the six entrances to Baghdad, which links the capital to the rest of the provinces and from all directions." Electronic in order for the project to be international, not local, just like the capitals of developed countries.

Majeed stressed that "the governorate has obtained the approval of the Cabinet Secretariat on this plan with administrative orders, as well as obtaining the approval of the Ministry of Planning to include it in the projects of the agreement with China," noting that "the province is in the process of referring designs to international companies, but that their implementation will fall within the agreement With China, given the high sums this project needs.”
