Baghdad today _ Baghdad

The deputy of the Saeron Alliance, Riyad Al-Masoudi, revealed on Saturday, January 18-20, the movements of political forces to choose an independent prime minister to manage the transitional government, before the deadline set by the protesters in Nasiriyah, which had the support of the protesting provinces, expired.

Riyad Al-Masoudi said, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), that "the movements of political forces began last Thursday, and continue to this day, in a serious and real manner, in order to respond to the demands of the demonstrators regarding the choice of the prime minister to replace the resigned Adel Abdul Mahdi."

Al-Masoudi added, "The turbulent conditions that the country witnessed recently regarding American aggressions and the Iranian response have had a delay in negotiations between political forces to choose the personality of the new prime minister."

The deputy of the Saeron Alliance pointed out that "everyone understands that the data on the ground are dangerous, with the end of the deadline for Nasiriyah after two days," noting that "the citizen must be aware that the process of selecting the Prime Minister is not an easy process."

The deputy of the Al-Fateh Alliance, Karim al-Muhammadawi, revealed Saturday, 18/1-2020, that the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, and the head of the coalition, Hadi al-Amiri, were continuing to resolve the selection of a figure for prime minister this week.

Karim al-Muhammadawi, in an interview with (Baghdad Today), said that "there are signs that pave the way for the selection of a new prime minister during the current week or a little more than that," noting that "there is agreement on this file among the Shiite political forces, especially after their unification."

Al-Muhammadawi added, "Four names will be nominated to the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, to choose one of them for the position of Prime Minister," noting that "these personalities are not previously presented and are independent and will be satisfactory to the demonstrators."

The MP from the Al-Fateh Alliance in Parliament pointed out, "Communication between the head of the coalition, Hadi al-Amiri, and the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, to resolve the prime minister's choice very soon."

The political forces failed to choose a replacement for Abdul-Mahdi to head the next government during the 15-day period specified by the constitution, and the constitutional breach became evident after exceeding the specified period.

Political understandings on choosing a prime minister

Saturday January 18 2020

Baghdad / Al-Sabah

Parliamentary sources reported that the understandings between the "Shiite" political blocs led to an agreement described as "principled" to resolve the position of the next prime minister, and to choose a consensual figure acceptable from the street and the authority.

The deputy of the Alliance of Raiders Riyad Al-Masoudi said: "The Shiite political forces have reached a complete conviction of the necessity of choosing a personality that suits the nature of the stage and not the wishes of the political parties, and thus moved from the stage of political stalemate to a real and serious movement to choose a person who leads the transitional phase without problems."

Al-Masoudi suggested that "the coming few days will witness a solution to the crisis of choosing the next prime minister according to specifications that the people accept and reference."

He added, "The transitional stage that will be determined will be by political agreement, since the constitution has not been referred to, and that early elections cannot be determined unless the law is published in the Official Gazette," noting that "its publication depends on the completion of the annexes assigned to a parliamentary and governmental committee to determine the number of Districts and areas, as well as the need for security and political stability. "

In a similar situation, the member of the Alliance, Al-Fath Muhammad Al-Baldawi, revealed a preliminary agreement between the forces of the Shiite blocs to present a specific figure that will be announced this week.

Al-Baldawi said: "The Shiite political forces have reached understandings to agree on offering an acceptable figure to head the next government," noting that "the Shiite forces will present that character during the current week."

He added, "The political forces from the other components have informed the Shiite forces that they will not stand in the way of our choice of a new and acceptable figure if it is agreed upon by us."

As for the deputy of the Sadqoun Ahmad Al-Kinani bloc, he confirmed that "a new mechanism has been put in place to choose an independent government, and the name of the candidate for prime minister will be announced soon," without revealing the nature of that mechanism.

Al-Kinani added, "The coming days will witness the solution of many things, especially the formation of the new government and the file of foreign presence," stressing that "the convergence of the big poles within the political process will contribute to choosing a government away from the political quota."

In turn, the deputy revealed the construction alliance Mukhtar Al-Mousawi On submitting three names as candidates for the post of prime minister. Moussaoui said in a press interview: "Three names were presented as candidates for the post of prime minister, including Ali Shukri, Advisor to the President of the Republic and Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi, as well as a third military figure," stressing that "Ali Shukri possesses the best chance of taking office."

He added, "There is what is more important at the present time than the issue of choosing a prime minister, which is the repercussions of the American presence and the forthcoming demonstrations against that presence." Mousawi added, "The choice of one of them was decided after the end of the repercussions of the American presence, and the demonstrations called by the leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada. Sadr is against the American presence. "

The head of the National Parliamentary Coalition bloc, Kazem Al-Shammari, believes that the delay in deciding to choose the prime minister to succeed resigned Adel Abdul-Mahdi is evidence that the political forces want a candidate to preserve their gains.

Al-Shammari said in a press statement, that "regardless of all the justifications that can be put forward regarding the failure to reach an acceptable figure for the position of Prime Minister, this matter has become a shame." We have been paying for it since the erroneous interpretation of the Federal Court of the Greatest Bloc. "

He pointed out that "delaying deciding this matter is a real dilemma and there are no real reasons for this except that the political forces want any candidate for prime minister to preserve their gains in addition to the crisis of confidence that governs the course of the political process from the beginning until today."
