Just an observation, I've lived for over 5 and a half decades now and I've learned a couple of things about people. One of the strongest things I've learned is that people most always do things in character. That is to say, people are who they are and you may have a General, {pun intended-look around Trump}, idea of how they are going to react based on past actions. Then there are stronger characteristics that seldom change in a persons psyche. What I've noticed is that you can ALWAYS TELL WHEN SOMETHING IS UP, when a person goes 'out of character'.

This is Donald Trumps 'out of character' moment. His reaction based  on past history should have been to give a very limited response about what occurred last night, and a even stronger reaction about Americas response

Instead Trump begins with making it clear as a bell that Iran will NEVER be allowed to get a nuclear weapon. Trump then  says that we will be asking the NATO nations to get more involved in the situation in Iran and Iraq. Finally, he talks about NOT  wanting to escalate the situation with Iran and that Iran has stated they don't want it to escalate either.

What we know.

We know that the GOI has been essentially under the control  of Iran from the beginning through their proxy people in Iraq.

We know that because of the 'Iranian puppets' in Iraq that America will most likely never get control of the situation.

We know that Iran's puppets in Iraq are also citizens of Iraq and that their connection to Iran is via their

Muslim sect faith. So we can't just "get rid of them".

We know that keeping Iraq from an RV is one of the main goals of Iran.

We know that President Trump is the "Great Deal maker".

We know that Iran's second in command has carried out many attacks against American interest and other nations interest around the world.

We know that In Iran General "Salami" was considered to be the second in command.  And that he only answered to the Ayatollah.

We know that the people of Iran are now selling their dinars for dollars because they fear that the dinar

will soon suffer the same fate as when we first invaded Iran.

Nothing above is speculation.

So what can we presume this is all about?

Let's speculate.....................

What if the Ayatollah realized that General Salami had become far too powerful and thus had become a

threat to the Ayatollah's own power. Supposing that could be the case how can the Ayatollah dispose of General Salami without garnering the wrath of the people?

Let the Americans do it.

Tell the Americans when and where General Salami will be and sit back and watch.

Work out a deal were Iran is allowed to saber rattle and even lob some third rate cruse missiles onto an EMPTY American base. Then Iran can say, "hey this was a controlled response to the American infidels assassination of General Salami. Iran does NOT want an escalation  to war."

President Trump then comes out and say basically the same thing.

Meanwhile, the average people of Iraq that have long been hording the " CHUNKY MONEY" are running to the banks and money exchange's faster that a hooker runs from Mass on Sunday morning because they don't want to be caught with worthless money like when we first invaded Iraq.

When People do something out of character something is usually up.................

What if Donald Trump , who loves telling the world that America is now the number one producer of oil, decided that enough is enough. Telling the Ayatollah that he can have Iraq if he would simply pay for what we've build their via the RV? Let Iraq RV their currency and we will silently walk away. But making it clear to Iran that NATO and America will be watching to prevent Iran from ever getting a nuclear weapon.

Just a thought. But if I'm right then we just saw America surrender to the Ayatollah for a price. And shortly we'll see a Skyrocket in the value of the dinar.

And let us NEVER FORGET that Trump has from the beginning made it EXCEEDINGLY CLEAR that he never thought we should be in Iraq. So the above hypothesis wouldn't be foreign to Trumps thinking.

America out of Iraq and the war paid for with the RV.

Wow thank you so much for your analysis! That was extremely well thought out and if I were a betting man I would bet you are closer to the truth then most so thanks again for sharing! If anything this past weeks events have probably actually gotten us closer to an RV then ever I believe! Bravo again this is the BEST post I have read here in awhile!!

I don't see the President acting out of caricature in this speech, in fact I think last night I could have guessed everything he was going to say when he addressed us today. I had a feeling he was going to let this attack slide taking it like a punch in the arm in a one last try effort to stop this escalation. On the Iranian side they had to respond to appease his followers, funny thing is they warned the Iraqi government to get there people 1000 yards away from those bases long before the missiles were launched.

Iran loves performing there attacks in a slimy way hidden among the people by kidnapping killing and going as far as infiltrating a government, we have been watching this for years now. They would be out of there element in a head on war against the US and they know better, they gave a punch in the arm and will now back off and perform business as usual ion the shadows.

I can only hope we can keep Iraq's demonstrators alive long enough to remove Iran's influence.

The president said that the time has come for the UK, Germany, France and Russia to unite to stop Iran and to work towards a better deal with the country. Trump added that Iran will not be allowed to go forward. "I will ask NATO to be more involved in the Middle East peace process."

Iran is believed to have deliberately sought to avoid US military casualties in missile strikes on bases housing American troops in Iraq launched in retaliation for the US killing of an Iranian general, according to US and European government sources familiar with intelligence assessments.

The sources, speaking on condition of anonymity, said on Wednesday the Iranians were thought to have targeted the attacks to miss US forces to prevent the crisis from escalating out of control while still sending a message of Iranian resolve. A source in Washington said overnight that early indications were of no US casualties, while other US officials declined comment.

Trump floats Iran as anti-terror partner after strikes

Jack Detsch  January 8, 2020

 REUTERS/Kevin Lamarque

US President Donald Trump delivers a statement about Iran flanked by US Defense Secretary Mark Esper, Army Chief of Staff General James McConville, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Army General Mark Milley and Vice President Mike Pence in the Grand Foyer at the White House in Washington, US, Jan. 8, 2020.

In a blistering response at the White House today to an Iranian missile attack against Iraqi bases that house US troops, President Donald Trump alternated between using carrot and stick with Tehran: floating the possibility of military cooperation against the terror groups while pledging to step up sanctions against the Islamic Republic.

“As long as I am president of the United States, Iran will never have a nuclear weapon. Good morning,” Trump opened Wednesday’s remarks, more than 18 hours after the Pentagon said Iran launched 15 missiles at large Iraqi bases at Al-Asad and Erbil. “No Americans were harmed in last night’s attack by the Iranian regime.”

Trump said only minimal damage was sustained at the Erbil airport, which has taken on a role as a hub for defeat-IS (Islamic State) operations as the Pentagon thinned the number of American troops in Syria over the past three months, and Al-Asad, where the US president visited in December 2018 in his first overseas trip to see US forces in the field.

The commander-in-chief credited early warning systems with helping to stop the attack, though it’s not clear what defenses were used. Defense Secretary Mark Esper is set to brief members of Congress on the attack later this afternoon.

A US defense official said early warning systems detected incoming Iranian ballistic missile attacks on both Iraqi bases last night "well in advance," giving American troops and coalition forces "adequate time to take appropriate force protection measures."

But in the wake of a US drone strike that killed Iran’s elite Quds Force chief Qasem Soleimani, Trump said the United States and Iran have a “natural enemy” in IS and can “work together on this and other shared priorities” in the future. Trump described Soleimani as "the world's top terrorist" who "fueled bloody civil wars across the region."

Since the 1979 Iranian Revolution that overthrew the US-allied Mohammad Reza Pahlavi, successive American administrations have used Oman as a diplomatic go-between and enlisted Switzerland to represent American interests in the country.

There is little to no track record of the United States and Iran working together militarily, even though Iraq’s government has credited Iran with contributing to defeat-IS operations.

One expert told Al-Monitor there was a period of cooperation against the Taliban in Afghanistan in 2001, initiated by Soleimani, that included now-Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and other Quds Force officers who mostly met with Ryan Crocker.

"That was real cooperation, though to what intended end (besides that of the Taliban) was never clear," said Afshon Ostovar, a senior analyst at the Center for Strategic Studies at CNA, and has joined the Naval Postgraduate School as an assistant professor of national security affairs. "It was short lived, marginal, and never fully embraced by the Bush administration."

Between 2015 and 2016, the Pentagon used the chief of the Iran-linked Badr Brigade as a go-between to make sure Tehran-connected Popular Mobilization Units were not hit in US airstrikes against IS.

Experts said the unlikely partnership is unlikely to get off the ground because of the deep enmity between the rival nations.

“The Iranians wouldn't want it,” Phillip Smyth, a fellow at the Washington Institute, told Al-Monitor of possible military collaboration. “De-conflicting is different from fighting alongside.”

Despite signs of renewed interest in talks from both sides after the 11-day military ***-for-tat that culminated in Soleimani’s death and Wednesday’s Iranian ballistic missile strikes, Smyth says a rapprochement based around fighting IS remains unlikely.

“It comes down to this: The Islamic Republic has a deep ideological hatred of the US,” Smyth said. “They like swooping in after the US has taken care of an issue related to IS,” he added, citing the Iraqi security forces breaking a 2014 siege in the Iraqi city of Amerli, where US airstrikes helped seize ground from IS that Iranian-controlled Shiite militias hold today.

Trump also called for Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Russia and China to break out of the 2015 Iran nuclear deal to negotiate a better agreement, and he called for NATO to get “much more involved” in the Middle East. The Atlantic alliance said it planned to suspend military training in Iraq amid Iranian threats.

Baghdad today - follow up

The Washington Post newspaper revealed the identity of the another site who was killed in missile attacks on a military base in Kirkuk on December 27, 2019, and that the United States took his killing as a pretext to carry out the assassination of the Iranian Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Abu Mahdi, an engineer with American bombing. Near Baghdad International Airport.

The newspaper stated, "The another site is of Iraqi origin, who was working as a translator for the army, of Iraqi origin, and that he was born in his home country and was living in Sacramento, California."

Quoted from his widow, Nour Al-Khalili, she added, "His name is Nawras Hamid, he was 33 years old, and he obtained American citizenship in 2017, and they have two children, one of whom is two years old and the other eight."

In recent years, he worked as a translator for US forces in Iraq, before he died in the December 27 attack on the K-1 base in Kirkuk that includes US and Iraqi forces, and US authorities say armed groups supported by Iran have carried out, "according to the media.

The newspaper pointed out that "that attack, which wounded many coalition forces and Iraqi soldiers, prompted US President Donald Trump to issue orders to strike Iraqi armed groups. American retaliatory strikes.

His widow told the Washington Post last Tuesday that "Hamid's body had arrived in the United States and was buried on Saturday in Sacramento."

The newspaper "Sacramento B", according to the media, reported that "Hamid was buried in the major Muslim cemetery of Sacramento and that the company he was working for was paying the burial costs."

And the region is witnessing an unprecedented tension, following an assassination operation carried out by the United States targeting the commander of the Quds Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, Qassem Soleimani, and the deputy head of the Popular Mobilization Authority, Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, in an air strike in a plane that dawned last Friday, in the vicinity of Baghdad Airport, to threaten the Iranian government An "overwhelming" cold to avenge Soleimani.

Trump's adviser: Al-Abadi and Abdul-Mahdi came to power in agreement with Iran and it is illegal to request the exit of our forces

Baghdad today _ Baghdad

Member of the advisory board of the American President, Gabriel Soma, said on Wednesday 8/1-2020 that the Iraqi parliament’s vote on the request to leave the American forces was not legal according to the council’s internal regulations, while noting that a large part of the people's representatives did not participate in voting on the decision.

Gabriel Soma said, during his hosting of the "Point of View" program presented by Dr. Nabil Jassem on the "Tigris" channel, that "America came to Iraq at his request to confront ISIS," noting that "there is a constitutional opinion in America saying that the Iraqi government is resigned and its request to leave the forces The US is illegal, according to the internal system of the Iraqi cabinet. "

Soma added, "The boycott of the Sunnis and the Kurds for the voting session on the exit of the American forces in Parliament means that an important part of the Iraqi people did not participate in drafting the resolution."

On the other hand, he stressed that "the coming of Haider al-Abadi and Adel Abdul-Mahdi to power was an Iranian-American agreement, and the issue can be repeated in the future to choose new heads of government."

On the escalation between the United States and Iran, Soma said, "there is an unspoken agreement to solve the problem in a peaceful way to reduce tension in the region."

On the Iranian attack that targeted American forces in Anbar and Erbil, a member of the American President's Advisory Council said, "A third of the missiles launched by Iran did nothing, and a group of counter-missiles launched from Erbil dropped two of the missiles."

Regarding the assassination of the commander of the Iranian Quds Force, Qassem Soleimani, he stated, "The strike was due to Soleimani's planning with (Hezbollah) and (Hezbollah Brigades) to take military action against the American embassies in Baghdad and Beirut, as well as military sites in Syria and Iraq, and what America did was In self-defense, "stating that" Trump could not inform the Congress of the process because it was necessary, and for fear of information leakage. "

And on the subject of Iraq to US economic sanctions, it is likely, "Washington will impose sanctions on Iraq if he insists on his position on the request to leave the American forces."

American documents reveal the secrets of Khazali .. It was revealed by its leader Muqtada al-Sadr

Dubai - (Al Arabiya Net): American documents revealed secret confessions of the leader of the League of the Righteous People, Qais Khazali, as he revealed his former boss Muqtada Al-Sadr.

Khazali was captured by US forces in 2007 after he was suspected of involvement in the attack on a government compound in the city of Karbala, which resulted in the killing of five American soldiers. After two years, he was released under the mediation of Nuri al-Maliki, then Prime Minister. About ten years later, the secret US authorities lifted their confessions in April 2018, and the Wall Street Journal has published a portion of them. The Americans claim that Khazali was not subjected to torture and that he cooperated with investigators within two years of his arrest in some voluntary files. Meanwhile, the documents reveal that he gave them important information about his former boss, the cleric, Iraqi political leader Muqtada al-Sadr, and his ties to Iran and the Quds Force commander Qassem Soleimani.

In a document dated 20 March 2007, Khazali gave detailed information about Muqtada al-Sadr and his relationship with the Iranians.

Khazali admitted to the Americans that he traveled with Al-Sadr to Iran for the first time in 2003 and they had leaders in the Sadrist movement at the time, they were Ahmed Al-Shaibani, Mustafa Al-Yaqoubi and Abbas Al-Kufi. The visit took place at the invitation of the Iranian side, with the aim of getting to know Moqtada Al-Sadr, the rising political figure and the leaders of the Mahdi Army.

Khazali adds that they met the late President Hashemi Rafsanjani and the head of the judiciary, Mahmoud al-Shahroudi, where they discussed in closed sessions Iraq and Najaf.

The group then attended an open session with the Iranian leader, Ali Khamenei. The most important meeting was with the leaders of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, the commander of the Quds Force, Qasim Soleimani, and another commander, Haji Yusef, where the visiting Iraqi delegation was informed that the Revolutionary Guard wanted to financially support the Mahdi Army militia.

Khazali says, “After that, Al-Sadr and his companions held a meeting with the Iraqi cleric residing in Qom Qasim Al-Haeri,” and they discussed the possibility of his return to Iraq, but he informed them that he is unable to do so at the present time for health and other reasons related to security.

Khazali's journey, Sadr, and the others lasted ten days, during which they visited various places in Iran, as Khazali talks in his confessions.

After their return to Iraq, the Revolutionary Guards began sending money to Muqtada al-Sadr and the Mahdi Army, which ranged between 750,000 to one million dollars a month in support of operations.

Khazali says that Muqtada al-Sadr was very concerned that these funds would affect the independence of the Mahdi Army, so he told the Iranians, "I will accept the funds on the condition that Iran or the Revolutionary Guards do not interfere in our operations."

Iran agreed, Khazali added, to that condition, and the relationship between Sadr and the Iranians remained cautious.

Al-Khazali indicates that the money was delivered directly to Al-Sadr, and he is the one who decides where to spend. But he confirms that only about 50% of that money was spent on the Mahdi Army and the operations it is carrying out, while the documents do not show where the rest of the money goes.

Khazali says that the Iranians have paid great attention to Muqtada al-Sadr, "Iran previously focused on Muhammad Baqir al-Hakim, but the Badr Corps is not as strong as the Sadrist movement and does not have a large size in the street that will enable it to survive in the long run."

Also, there is another shocking document in March 2007, in which Khazali provided information to Americans about the financial dealings of Muqtada al-Sadr and members of the current who work in the government and the Iraqi parliament.

Khazali accused Sadr that when he had authority over some ministries after the last general elections, great deals were concluded through these ministries, which are controlled by members of the Sadrist movement.

He adds that the contracts were concluded even if the deals were not beneficial to the ministry, and were intended to obtain funds for the benefit of the Sadrist movement members in person.

Meanwhile, Sadr is accused of some of this money going to his office in Najaf.

On March 20, 2007, investigators asked Khazali about the reason for his separation from the Mahdi Army and Khazali claimed that the primary reasons for the defection were financial, but the complete separation occurred for ideological reasons.

Khazali adds, in his confessions, that Sadr and his militia were obtaining additional funds, other than those they obtained from Iran, from illegal acts and kidnappings.

In addition, Khazali provided information about the offices of Muqtada al-Sadr and the places where he or the Mahdi Army elements are often located in Najaf or hold important meetings there. In an investigation ban on May 5, 2007, Khazali expressed remarkable cooperation in providing all his information about Muqtada al-Sadr, his aides, Abbas al-Kufi and Ahmed al-Shaibani, and the Iranians he described as working with Iraqi militias against Iraq.

PARIS - Agencies: The world's response to missile strikes by Iran against two bases used by US soldiers in Iraq yesterday, said it was a response to the killing of General Qassem Soleimani, commander of the Qods Force in the Iranian Revolutionary Guard, in a US air strike in Baghdad last week.

The United Arab Emirates confirmed that it was monitoring the general situation in the region with great interest, and again stressed the importance of not escalating. The Emirates News Agency (WAM) quoted the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation as saying, in a statement, that "diplomatic means and rational dialogue is the best solution." She stressed that "the recent regional developments will not affect the state, its citizens or residents of its lands, as well as visitors to it."

She also stressed that "all activities in the state and in all its sectors are continuing and going on normally."

The United Nations Mission in Iraq said that the Iranian attacks would escalate the tension and called for "urgent" restraint. "The missile attacks in the provinces of Erbil and Anbar only escalate the conflict and violate the sovereignty of Iraq," the United Nations Assistance Mission for Iraq (UNAMI) said in a statement issued on the Internet. "The violence that occurs without justification has its expected effects. We call for urgent restraint and the resumption of dialogue »,

UNAMI emphasized that Iraq "should not pay the price for external conflicts."

"France condemns the attacks carried out tonight by Iran in Iraq against sites of the coalition fighting ISIS, the priority is now more than ever to reduce the escalation," French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said in a statement. The cycle of violence must stop. ”

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson called on Tehran to "urgently reduce the escalation", condemning Iranian attacks on coalition bases in Iraq. "We certainly condemn the attack on the Iraqi military bases where the coalition forces are deployed," Johnson told parliament. Iran should refrain from launching such dangerous and reckless attacks and must work to urgently reduce the escalation. ”

Earlier, British Foreign Secretary Dominic Rapp said, "We condemn this attack on Iraqi military bases that include forces for an alliance including the British." He expressed "concern" about "information about the fall of the wounded and the use of ballistic missiles."

German Defense Minister Ingret Krump-Karenbauer announced that Germany strongly condemns the Iranian "aggression" by firing missiles at two bases that include American soldiers in Iraq.

She said in an interview with the public network, "ARD", "It has become clear that it is now necessary not to let this whirlpool further aggravate," explaining that it is due "above all to the Iranians not to cause a new escalation."

For his part, said Stephen Seibert, a spokesman for German Chancellor Angela Merkel, "All parties concerned must now show restraint and move from the logic of escalation to the logic of dialogue." For his part, German Foreign Minister Haikou Maas also asked Tehran to "abandon any move that could lead to a new escalation." He added, "We have been in contact for days with all parties" in order to calm tensions.

NATO Secretary-General Jens Stoltenberg condemned Iran's firing of missiles at Iraqi bases where American forces are deployed. "I condemn the Iranian missile attack on American forces and the coalition in Iraq," he wrote in a tweet. NATO calls on Iran to refrain from escalating the violence further. A NATO officer said there were no casualties among the forces conducting a training mission in Iraq.

China called for "restraint" after the Iranian attacks, and Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Jing Shuang said that "it is not in the interest of any party that the situation in the Middle East be further aggravated."

The European Union Foreign Minister, Josep Borrell, considered that the Iranian strikes on two military bases in Iraq in which the forces of the alliance, including European forces, are stationed, "a new example of escalation." "The latest missile attacks on two bases in Iraq are being used by American and coalition forces, including European forces, a new example of escalation and increased confrontation," Borrell said in Brussels. He warned that "it is not in anyone's interest to exacerbate the cycle of violence."

Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned that Israel would strike a "thunderous blow" in the event that it was attacked by its main enemy, Iran.

Sadr leader Muqtada al-Sadr called on Wednesday, the Iraqi factions to be careful and not to start military action, while stressing the need to end the political blocs "recklessness, and stubbornness by the demonstrators, otherwise Iraq is lost."

Al-Sadr said in a statement, Alsumaria News received a copy of it, that "the two parties (America and Iran ) contacted the Prime Minister, al-Fiqal, before the air strike ... so did he agree to implement it or not ...? God is all-knowing."

He added, "What concerns me now is: that this severe crisis has taken place, especially after Trump's speech and the speech of the Islamic Republic."

Al-Sadr called for "accelerating the formation of a strong and strong government that will restore Iraq its prestige and independence in a period of no more than fifteen days and without political, parliamentary, sectarian or ethnic polemics, and by presenting five candidates with integrity and experience so that a final candidate is chosen to form an interim government that oversees the early elections." And other things that we mentioned earlier, "he added, adding:" Enough recklessness from some political blocs and enough stubbornness from the demonstrators, otherwise Iraq will be lost ... because these violations are not repeated in the future from any of the neighboring countries or from the great evil of America. "

He stressed "the necessity of striving to end the presence of the occupier and rein in his control and increasing influence and interference in Iraqi affairs ... Our patience is almost exhausted due to the large number of external interventions that do not take into account the interests of Iraq ."

Al-Sadr called on the Iraqi factions to "be patient and patient, not start the military action and silence the voice of militancy from some of the disciplines until all political, parliamentary and international methods are exhausted."

He advised the leader of the Sadrist movement , "to close all the headquarters of the popular crowd so that it is not a target for global arrogance, especially if our decision becomes military resistance with the occupier in the event he refuses to go out and exhaust all political methods."

Iraq Crisis: Sadr Urges Militias to Stand Down

 09/01/2020 - 00:01

ERBIL - Iraqi powerful Shia cleric Muqtada al-Sadr said on Wednesday that he believes the crisis in the country was over, urging the pro-Iranian militia groups to stand down.

Sadr's comments came as tensions were escalating in the past few days between the US and Iran in Iraq following the killing of Qassem Soleimani, the commander of Quds Force.

Sadr also called for efforts to nominate a new premier for Iraq, pointing out that a new strong government could protect the country's sovereignty and independence, which he noted that it should be formed within 15 days.

However, he added that Baghdad should still work to oust the foreign troops from Iraq.

"I call on the Iraqi factions to be deliberate, patient, and not to start military actions, and to shut down the extremist voices of some rogue elements until all political, parliamentary and international methods have been exhausted," Sadr said, according to Reuters.

Baghdad-Iraq today:

Iraqi diplomatic sources revealed that the Iranian response to the killing of General Qassem Soleimani in an American raid in Baghdad was coordinated with the United States through the mediation of a Gulf country, and that military arrangements were made by the two sides during the past two days to ensure that this response does not lead to a fall Foreign victims.

Diplomatic Mobility The

sources told "Iraq Today" that the past days after the United States carried out an attack by flying planes, killing the commander of the Quds Force in the "Revolutionary Guards" General Qassem Soleimani and Vice President of the "Popular Mobilization" Abu Mahdi Al-Muhandis, witnessed an accelerated diplomatic movement in The region, in which Iraq participated, resulted in a consensus between Washington and Tehran regarding the response.

The agreement includes Iran's implementation of a limited missile attack on a number of sites that include American forces inside Iraq, ensuring that no casualties are caused by the United States Army, which is what actually happened, according to preliminary information.

Ahmed Mulla Talal, a prominent Iraqi media, said that "an intense international diplomatic movement has been taking place for two days to arrange an agreed Iranian response, which is acceptable to the United States, followed by a less severe American response, to calm the region," stressing that "the two parties are not ready to escalate."

Commenting on the Iranian attack at dawn on January 8, Talal added that what happened was "implementation of the agreement" between the United States and Iran, citing the absence of American victims.

Iranian missiles on 3 Iraqi sites

The "Iranian Revolutionary Guard" carried out attacks on three Iraqi military bases that include American soldiers in Anbar, Baghdad and Erbil on Tuesday evening and Wednesday dawn, and resulted in injuries among Iraqi individuals.

There was no information available on the type of casualties caused by these attacks, and whether they caused deaths, but Iraqi sources linked to the US military confirmed that there were no casualties among foreign soldiers in Iraq, pending the official announcement.

Iraqi sources revealed that most of the Iranian missiles that were fired at the Iraqi military sites fell in empty spaces, while the American forces confronted with projectiles aimed at inhabited sites, and quoted a US general in Baghdad as saying that "the Iranian missiles are an updated version of the Scud missiles developed by the former Soviet Union." , But it lacks precision. "

Were the American forces aware?

The sources confirmed that the American forces moved soldiers and equipment from locations to another inside the "Ain al-Assad" base in western Anbar, hours before the Iranian attack, to prevent any casualties in its ranks, which supports the theory of prior agreement with Iran to respond.

Observers considered that the speed of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif to consider his country's missile attack on Iraqi bases as the final response to Soleimani’s killing, in the interest of containing the American position, especially that the Iranian attack ended without causing injury or killing Americans.

Iraqi wounded ... only!

Sources in the Iraqi armed forces have reported that a number of members of the Iraqi army have been wounded, while local media have reported information that a senior Iraqi officer was killed in the Iranian attack, but Baghdad denied this.

Iraqi observers say, "The Iranian attack eased internal pressure on the administration of US President Donald Trump, which stems from fears of involvement in an all-out war with Iran."

The White House had stated that Trump would make a speech to comment on the Iranian missile attack in Iraq, but the move was canceled, and the American president only said through his account of "tension" that "everything is fine", indicating that the bombing did not cause significant damage .

The accounts of Iraqi activists on social media were filled with questions related to "violating sovereignty", which is the term that described the American raid against Soleimani, and whether it includes the Iranians as well, especially since their attacks on Baghdad, Erbil and Anbar did not hit Americans, but only Iraqis, in exchange for a wave From the joy, the accounts of the supporters of the militias loyal to Tehran swept by the "Iranian overwhelming response."
