The information / Baghdad ..

First Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Hassan Karim Al-Kaabi called on Tuesday to boycott US administration officials present at the Davos Forum and not to be met by members of the Iraqi delegation.

"In line with the courageous decision of the House of Representatives to evacuate foreign forces from Iraq and a refusal to violate its sovereignty, we demand Iraqi officials participating in Davos meetings to boycott US administration officials, led by US President Donald Trump and his Foreign Minister Pompeo and never meet them, " Al-Kaabi said in a statement.

He added, "This position represents a clear political response that meets with the popular anger over the American violations of Iraqi sovereignty and security and not taking this claim would represent an unacceptable disregard for the blood of the martyrs."

He continued, "The House of Representatives is very keen on documenting, strengthening and developing Iraq’s relations with the countries participating in the Davos meeting and taking advantage of its economic, commercial and technological capabilities to rebuild Iraq, especially since the country is looking to open up to various countries of the world, but the American role represents a departure from the international consensus to preserve the sovereignty, independence and stability of Iraq. Which requires his firm response, stressing that "boycotting American officials represents the simplest political and diplomatic response to them."
