The Left won't Win

Recommended Posts

This post isn't about anything other than common sense.

Old establishment vs. New socialism.......the party with in, is too divided with no middle ground.

Both factions are in trouble. Establishment is in for a legal beat down because of broken laws, dirty money, .....and much more.....and of course once again the DNC has the primary rigged to go thier way....

The young ones like AOC have no idea of the power and corruption they are up against within thier own party.....

The old saying is....united we stand....divided we fall......that's how it will go for the Democrats in 2020......and unfortunately for the Country if we don't all pull together soon.

And here is an opinion (not mine, I'm merely the messenger) from the other side of the aisle.  ;)

Why Trump will lose in 2020

Scroll back up to restore default view.

With unemployment at a 50-year low and the stock market near record highs, President Trump should be a shoo-in for reelection. He’s not.

In fact, Trump could very plausibly lose in November. Perhaps by a wide margin. Here are 4 reasons why:

The economy isn’t strong enough. There probably won’t be a recession by Election Day in November, but there will still be plenty of discontent. Income inequality has worsened under Trump, with the wealthy benefiting much more from a booming stock market than working- and middle-class Americans. Evidence continues to mount that Trump’s signature achievement, the 2017 tax-cut law, benefited businesses and the wealthy more than ordinary workers. Trump and other backers of the law insisted a boom in business spending would follow the tax cuts, but Moody’s Analytics found recently that just 20% of the corporate tax savings went to investment. The other 80% went to stock buybacks and dividend hikes that mainly benefit the shareholder class.

Economic growth under Trump peaked at 2.9% in 2018. It has slowed since then and will probably end 2019 around 2%, with even slower growth likely next year. That should be good enough to keep the unemployment rate low, but not necessarily enough for Trump to win. Trump’s net approval rating is -10.3, according to a Fivethirtyeight composite, which means his disapproval rating is about 10 points higher than his approval rating. Research by Alan Abramowitz of the University of Virginia’s Center for Politics shows that an incumbent with a -10 net approval rating needs economic growth of between 2% and 3% to win reelection. Trump probably won’t get that in 2020. There’s one other factor blocking the normal tailwind a president gets from a decent economy: Trump is the first president in 150 years running for reelection after being impeached.

It's also possible recession fears could return later in 2020, just as they materialized in the summer of 2019. And some traders expect stocks to flatline or drop in 2020, perhaps even entering a correction that ends an 11-year rally. Even small fluctuations in confidence could be enough to sink Trump.

Bloomberg’s money. Former New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg probably won’t win the Democratic presidential nomination. But he could still end up being the most influential Democrat in the campaign. Bloomberg has pledged to spend whatever it takes to beat Trump in 2020, and the multibillionaire has virtually unlimited funds to do it. Money isn’t everything in politics, but Bloomberg has been adept at spending money on targeted ads and organizational activities that have helped to elect more Democrats in Virginia and push Democratic causes such as gun control. Whether he’s the Democratic nominee or not, Bloomberg’s spending on behalf of the party will probably produce a financial advantage, maybe a decisive one.

Trump’s health care blind spot. Even in a decent economy, health care is a chronic problem for some people who don’t have insurance and others who do but still can’t afford the out-of-pocket expenses. Trump has no plan on health care, other than continuing to try to dismantle Obamacare, otherwise known as the 2010 Affordable Care Act. The Trump administration remains party to a controversial lawsuit attempting to kill the entire law, which may succeed, canceling insurance for about 20 million people and restoring the old, heinous insurance company practice of denying coverage to people with preexisting conditions. That’s about 60 million Americans.

Every Democratic candidate, by contrast, has a serious health care plan. Medicare for all, the Bernie Sanders plan for eliminating private insurance and forcing everyone into a government plan, is undoubtedly too radical for some voters. But Joe BidenPete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and even Elizabeth Warren have plans for an optional government coverage for those who want it. That seems like an idea whose time has arrived, and Trump’s only riposte is to riff about “socialized medicine” and promise a health care plan of his own that plainly doesn’t exist.

Barack Obama’s role. The former president has been largely silent about Trump, and also about the Democratic presidential contest. But it seems certain that once Democrats choose their nominee in 2020, Obama will fully back the candidate and campaign on his or her behalf. That could help boost minority turnout, which was weak in 2016 and contributed to Hillarious Clinton’s loss. Trump’s so-called base would stick with him, but that’s only about 25% of the electorate. Others support Trump because they dislike radical Democrats such as Bernie Sanders or feel Trump is presiding over a prosperous era they don’t want to disturb. If any of those things turn Democrats’ way, Trump will be a one-term president.

I am just one of many here who post.  I try to support my posts with something factual...and that can be hard to find in the MSM...

I would really like to have the MSM be held accountable...like what is being done with the $billions of damages that have been filed in the Nicholas Sandman case.....

I also attempt to be for something, rather than just tear things down. You all know what my fix would be for the DNC.....and I think I've been clear on my dislike for the division within the country....

May we all enjoy a Happy New Year!

  • 2 weeks later...

This comes from a poster on the Tulsi2020 site.......just the facts......     CL

How stupid can the DNC be?

Let me count the ways:

They could nominate an elderly former VP who is sadly suffering obvious mental decline, and has more baggage than Louis Vuitton, including his self-admitted MFer-mongering crack head son, whom Dad got a cush job for, in Ukraine!
But hey, at least he's been on both sides of every issue! Can't lose! Just need to keep reminding him which side he's on now. And which issue. And what day of the week it is. No problem!

Or, they could go in the opposite direction, and nominate the 37 year old guy, who looks like he's 27,  with almost no experience, who has only won one small election in his life, and very mixed reviews on what little experience he does have, including a somewhat shady corporate past that he can't disclose. And he happens to be ***. And happily married to another gaay man. And good for them by the way. But as First Couple in the White House? Maybe someday, but today? Hmmm...... I don't think there's a pot of gold at the end of that rainbow. Although I don't have anything against Leprechauns! Don't call me a bigot!

Or maybe the soon to be 79 year old lifetime Socialist, who honeymooned in Russia, just had a heart attack, and apparently has a few women who think he's a bit too dismissive of them. Although he does seem to like paling around with the young ones, especially if they are socialists like him, and not afraid to call our country "fascist" and a sitting President a "motherfucker" in public. That's a winning squad!
And why not turn America into Venezuela? It would be like taking the exotic vacation we all dream about but can't afford. We'll bring South America to you, and save you the trip! Viva la revolutione!
OK, so he couldn't even win the _democrat primary last time. Big deal. America loves a loser! I know, I know, he was cheated! Waa waaa. Don't worry, the republicans would never do that! They may be many things, but cheating in an election? No way! They'll give him a free pass this time! Count on it!

Or if they wanted someone with even less experience than the young ex-mayor, they could go with the Chinese guy. Because he has literally zero experience. Kinda like the president we have now! Although he's much smarter. I just don't understand why he's not smart enough to know he's not going to be president in 2021. But hey, at least his name rhymes with "gang." It's almost as cool as a squad! And Americans love gangs! Reminds them of the good old days! And he likes whipped cream! Who doesn't like whipped cream!

Or the midwestern gal who is not afraid to "mix it up." She'll even insist you mix up your salad  with her comb. Tough cookie. With the charisma of stale bread. Hey, whoever said people have to like you? We've had presidents before that nobody liked. Richard Nixon. That ended well. She'll tell all those damn liberal progressives in the democrat party where they can stick it. And I don't mean just the comb. People like to be told off and put in their place. Keeps things orderly. Sit down and shut up!

Or maybe it's time for a true Native American? Well, maybe "true" isn't the right word to use in her case. She seems to have a little problem with the truth. But if you give her enough time, she'll explain it. And if you don't give her enough time, she'll just keep talking anyway. She's a good explainer. Got a lot of explaining to do anyway.
I'm not sure four years would be quite enough time though. Ready for a good long talk? i mean, really really long? She could be your gal. What's a few lies between friends anyway? Seems almost presidential!

Or why not one of the two billionaires? Because everybody loves billionaires! Well maybe not the Native American or the socialist, but everybody else. The DNC sure does though! Hmmm, smell that money? Smells so good! And since they blew all the Clinton cash last time, they need a fix, bad. I don't think they'll be able to resist. The American people will just have to get in line. Hey, they'll pay you for your endorsements! At least that's something. Plus, they can afford some really good commercials on TV! Americans love commercials! That's how we make all of our decisions! Why not just sit there, turn your brain off, and take it. It's the American way!

Let's see, anybody left? Oh yeah, well there is one more. She's a 17 year military veteran, who volunteered for duty in a combat zone. Twice. She's been in Congress for eight years, and before that she won elections in her state, despite being the underdog. In fact she's never lost an election. All told, she has almost twenty years of political experience. She's served on most of the most important committees in congress too. She's unusual though, for someone with all that experience - she's never had a scandal, has no baggage, and always tells the truth. Problem is, she believes in God, and Country, and dammit, she actually has friends, and the respect, of people on the other side of the aisle. Plus, she doesn't take orders from the dem establishment. The nerve! What is she, an independent woman or something? Sane? Non-partisan? How could she! And hey, she's a young, extremely healthy, fit heterosexual woman. We can't elect someone like that as president! Well, at least we haven't in 244 years. Why start now? Might start a damn trend. Can't have that. And that telling the truth thing, that's not the way politics is supposed to work. Takes too much courage. And that's scary. We're more comfortable when we're being lied to.
No, she is too sane, too courageous, too normal, too compassionate, too smart, and too well-liked to ever be president. Good looking too. Who wants to look at that every day? That's what movies are for. Real life is not something we can handle anymore. Maybe that's why we have an old reality TV guy as president now. That's more our style. Go back to sleep America. We'll wake you up if anything good happens. Might be a while though. And hey, who needs a "United" States of America anyway? That name is way too long. This woman might actually unite us, and get things done for all the people. Then what would we have to whine about? Nope, better make sure you keep her off the stage DNC. Unless of course you actually want to win the election. But obviously, you don't. Because otherwise, you'd nominate Tulsi Gabbard. You're just not smart enough to do that though, are you? I didn't think so. You'd upset your "base." And by base, I mean CNN and MSNBC. That's really your constituency now, isn't it? And heaven forbid, we never want to see Rachel cry again! Too heartbreaking! So please DNC, do not nominate Tulsi Gabbard for president. Because she would surely win. And then you'd have big problems. Winning? Perish the thought. Go with one of the others. Do what you do best. Lose again. At least that way Tulsi can get back to her surfing. And the rest of us can just keep on suffering. And you can keep the donations coming in! That works! For you anyway.......Right?

I have read the Huffington Post, the Guardian, and watched CNN, and MSNBC. They  made me throw up.

Maybe a better alternative is to not listen to or watch anyone with an agenda.

Im going to make my soul happy by going out to enjoy MLK day.
