Maybe they should sent Schiff and his judicial crew to those areas.  Call it research for what a Totalitarian Political System does to a country.

Are you suggesting sending members of the American congress to a hostile location so they might be hurt or even killed? That’s patriotic? , because they represent something you don’t believe it’s not American? Help me understand your patriotic values and how they don’t corroded the very Ideals of The Republic? The only way Rome falls is from within.
Impeach the dirtbag and make the world safe again. May America return to the glory of the world’s melting pot once again. Peace ✌️

The largest and most expensive in the world .. Shocking secrets about the compound of the US embassy in Baghdad

The importance of the US embassy in Iraq does not lie only in its political value and its location in the Middle East. The embassy that was stormed yesterday by the crowd protesters has characteristics that make it unique.

According to a report by "Fox News" network, the US embassy in Baghdad is the largest around the world, as it is the same size as the Vatican City, and the embassy was established on an area of 104 acres, where it is considered the largest of the largest American embassy in the past (the Yerevan embassy) about five times.

Thousands of employees

The embassy was opened in January 2009, after a series of construction operations costing more than $ 750 million, to accommodate approximately 16,000 employees and contractors.

The embassy complex is located on the Tigris River, west of the 14th of July Bridge. It consists of 21 buildings, with an area of approximately 80 soccer fields, making it larger than the United Nations Complex in New York.

Playgrounds and lounges

The embassy complex consists of five main sections, which are six housing complexes, water and waste facilities, a power station, two diplomatic buildings, and an entertainment section.

The embassy also contains theaters, restaurants, a shopping center, swimming pool, gym, basketball and soccer fields, and apartment complexes.

Protection

And the Marines are protecting the American embassy in Baghdad, which has strengthened its building structures more than two and a half times the number of other embassies, in addition to containing five high security entrances and an emergency entrance, according to a report by "CNBC News".

The engineering design of the embassy was not published publicly, but it was designed with capabilities that guarantee it self-sufficiency in energy and water, in light of the electricity and water cuts in Baghdad, and the security disturbances that erupt from time to time.

Exceptional immunization

The fence surrounding the embassy is at least 9 feet high, and is made of reinforced concrete that is strong enough to disperse the force of the blast from a car bomb, missile, or mortar attack.

From the inside, the embassy was exceptionally fortified, as it was designed as an American fortress against biological bombs, as it was equipped with an air purification system from any chemical or biological attack, in addition to small windows that look like cracks.

%D8%B5%D9%88%D8%B1-%D8%AA%D8%B8%D8%A7%D9

Five thousand officials

The American Embassy is located in the Green Zone in Baghdad, which has an area of about 10 square kilometers, and it contained thousands of housing units. Currently, the owners receive compensation every month, in exchange for the exploitation of their homes.

The Green Zone is considered one of the safest areas in Baghdad, and about five thousand officials and a civilian contractor are currently residing in it. It is surrounded by concrete walls and barbed walls and has many checkpoints, and is surrounded by the Tigris River from the south and east sides.

Let me guess: inside this compound are many economists, engineers, contractors, bankers, computer programmers, lawyers, military and diplomatic people....and many other trades and professions. This many talented people in a Third World Country with oil....this all cost a lot of money. What for? My guess is thousands of people have been busy making sure Iraq eventually succeeds....because America wants to control the oil in the Middle East, because it is that important to America's global dominance.

This was a long term project. We will soon learn if all this effort was worth it. I think it was.

Enjoy your money when it comes. Use it wisely.

I agree Utah Rock, 100%. Impeach the d-bag Schiff and Pelosi . Unfortunately Congress women and men cannot be impeached ... at this time. Should Republicans take back the Congress in 2020, and keep the majority in the Senate and Trump in the WH , well they should introduce a bill that will allow Congresswomen and men and Senators to be impeached for High Crimes and Misdemeanors just like the POTUS. Then Congress won't be able to attempt to cause the USA to fall from within ... again.

Conscious / Speaker of the US House of Representatives calls for bombing Iran in response to the outburst of the embassy in Baghdad

 Conscious / Baghdad / M.K.

Former Republican House Speaker Newt Gingrich called for the bombing of Tehran in response to an attempt to storm the US embassy in Baghdad.

"The United States must respond to Iran in Iran," Gingrich said in a Tweet on Twitter today.

He added, "The Iranian dictatorship does not care about the number of its allies that we hit in Iraq. We have to chase the enemy's heart and make them pay decisively. ”

He continued, "The Iranian dictatorship tests us again and again. It will not stop unless we raise the level of pain that threatens their system. The Revolutionary Guards ’money must be trapped until Iran gives up its aggression.”

Dozens of protesters tried, yesterday, Tuesday, to storm the American embassy in Baghdad, and set fire to two gates and observation towers, in response to American raids that targeted, last Sunday, sites for the "Popular Mobilization", in Anbar Governorate, which resulted in dozens of dead and wounded from the brigades.

Senior US Republican Senator Lindsey Graham, on Wednesday, expressed his pride in the way President Donald Trump has dealt with the incident in which the Washington embassy was stormed in Baghdad, and sent a warning message to the Iranian government in this regard.

Graham, who is Trump's most prominent ally in Congress, wrote on his account on Twitter on Tuesday: "I am very proud of President Trump's decisive behavior in the face of the threats to our embassy in Baghdad, which is the most dangerous world in the world that there will be no second Benghazi in his era." In reference to the attack on the United States consulate in that Libyan city on September 11, 2012, which killed the then US ambassador to Libya, Christopher Stevens.

Graham shouted Iran by "choosing its battles wisely", warning that Trump, unlike his predecessor Barack Obama, "will make Iran bear responsibility for its threats against the Americans" and "will strike it at the most painful points."

The Republican senator also directed the rulers of Baghdad, the United States' allies in Iraq, by saying that "the time has come to convince the American people that the relations between Washington and Baghdad are important to them and deserve protection." He continued: "Protect American employees and you will not regret it."

State Department spokeswoman Morgan Ortagos said in a televised statement that matters in the vicinity of the US embassy in Baghdad were under control, after the withdrawal of the Popular Mobilization militia from the embassy a day after the attack on it.

Ortagos added that those who attacked the embassy were terrorists, not protesters, and added: "There was misleading that those who were around the embassy were protesters."

The Washington embassy was attacked by members of the popular crowd, and pictures and videos showed that some of them were wearing the uniforms of militias, especially the Iraqi Hezbollah Brigades, Badr Organization, and Asaib Ahl al-Haq.

On any future steps in response to Iran, Ortagos said that the maximum pressure policy against Iran will continue and that it will not talk in advance about what the US administration will do. And Agence France-Presse said that all the elements of the popular crowd withdrew from the vicinity of the US embassy in Baghdad, according to a decision from the crowd.

The pro-Iranian Hezbollah Brigades refused to withdraw at first, but then agreed to leave the Green Zone, the agency said.

The head of the Security Studies Group in Washington calls for a military response to Iran after "storming the embassy"

image.php?token=108d28fbb2ef4af7f9ecf240cd619aac&c=2641298&size=

2nd January, 2020

Jim Hansen, head of the Washington-based "Security Studies Group" and former American officer and expert in counterterrorism, called on the administration of President Donald Trump to respond militarily to Iran, after storming his country's embassy in Baghdad.

Hansen pointed out, in an article on Fox News, that "the American president wisely dealt with the attack on the embassy, when he tweeted explaining the aim of the American raids, and also sent a message to Iran and Iraq that his country would not tolerate any attack on the citizens or American forces."

He emphasized in the article that "Trump's tweets are welcome, but we need more than a post to show Iran that we will not allow the passage of the attack on the American embassy with impunity. It is time to direct a military strike against Iran." He said, "Trump and his Foreign Minister Mike Pompeo considered the Iranian agents attack on the embassy a direct attack, and therefore they should respond."

He explained that "the American forces now launching a larger group of strikes against Iranian militias in Iraq, especially those that include large numbers of Iranian Revolutionary Guards officers and their equipment is justified." "The Revolutionary Guard is an active threat that must be controlled if Iraq wants to get rid of Iranian interference," he added. But Hansen believes that "the best way to respond to the attack that was organized in the cellars of Iranian intelligence is to destroy a large part of the Iranian navy, so that Washington assures Tehran that it considers the attack on the embassy a big mistake."

Here, the American anti-terrorism expert believes that this step "will at the same time eliminate the Iranian threat to shipping in the region, and it will serve as a warning to the Tehran regime that it is responsible for the acts of the dolls it controls." He pointed out that former US Army intelligence officer Michael Brigent, now a senior fellow at the Hudson Institute, has drawn up maps of Iranian sites that could be targets for the United States.

Expert Ali al-Tamimi confirms the legality of the United States sending military forces to Iraq

image.php?token=b40ade771e74f3942fc4bea180d75246&c=4999031&size=

2nd January, 2020

Today, Thursday, legal expert Ali Al-Tamimi confirmed the legality of the United States of America sending additional military forces to Iraq to defend its interests.

Al-Tamimi told Al-Akhbaria that, “There are two agreements between Iraq and America the first in 2008 regarding the exit of the American forces on 1.1.1011, which is a sofa agreement according to which the American presence in Iraq ended, and the second is the 2008 strategic agreement on trade and economic cooperation and others.  Article 24 states that it is permissible to use force from American forces when American interests are at risk, which was confirmed by Articles 27, 29 and 30 of the agreement using force to suppress any threat to Iraq, internal or external, and all of this is with the approval of the Iraqi government, as the text of these articles says."

He added: "Also, America has the approval of the Security Council under Article 51 of the Charter of the United Nations to defend its interests in the world, and also the 1961 Embassies Convention allows that." He continued: "As for the presence of the current American forces, it is with the approval of the Iraqi government for training and advice, and Iraqi law applies to them."

He pointed out that "the cancellation of the strategic agreement with America for the year 2008 is not possible now because the current government is conducting business and it is not within its powers to cancel the agreements even if Parliament enacted a law that cannot be implemented under this government."

Al-Hashemi: The attack on the American embassy was an attempt to divert the path of the demonstrations, but it failed

image.php?token=0a1ce7743f4143823ffd433519456085&c=8343511&size=

2nd January, 2020

Political analyst Wathiq al-Hashemi said that the attack on the US embassy was an attempt to divert the course of the demonstrations, but it failed.

Hashemi said in a press statement, "Iran succeeded in sending the message that it can reach the headquarters of the American embassy, thinking that the United States is responsible for inciting the demonstrators who targeted its consulates."

He added that the attack on the embassy was "an attempt by Iran to confirm that it possesses cards in Iraq, as it is an attempt to shuffle the cards, in order to distort the path of demonstrations with these populist slogans that people sympathize with, but what really happened is the opposite." He explained that "the protesters and the uprisings were not affected by this propaganda and they disavowed the attack on the American embassy."

Hashemi affirms that "the Iranian attempt failed, as evidenced by the demonstrations that erupted on Wednesday, which indicates that there is determination and will to implement the demands of the demonstrators."

And he reaffirms that Iran is trying to forcefully push for a proxy war with the United States, using the Iraqi arena to obtain a better position in light of the US sanctions and the extreme pressure policy pursued by Washington, noting that "Iraq is a country prepared to be a battlefield for proxy war in the absence of control by the state over These factions."

Iran places 7 conditions on the new prime minister in Iraq

image.php?token=5c156e5ef4292d9f98a0849d13c9bb9c&c=5997792&size=

2nd January, 2020

The Independent newspaper revealed that the future Iraqi Prime Minister, regardless of his name or the party that nominates him, will have to fulfill the seven conditions set by Iran, based on its economic, political and security needs.

The newspaper stated in a report that "usually, a lot of information about the Iranian conditions for appointing the Iraqi Prime Minister is not leaked to the media, because negotiations on this position have always taken place in complete secrecy between the Shiite parties close to Tehran, but that the Iranian capital is often It was the appropriate place to resolve any disagreement over the most likely candidate to form a government.

It seems that the Iraqi demonstrations, which have been going on for more than three months, have changed many rules, including the formal circumstances accompanying the selection of the prime minister in Baghdad, but, according to observers, they will not be able to compromise the essence of the conditions governing this process.

Currency auction

In the forefront of the Iranian conditions for any Iraqi figure charged with forming a government, maintaining the laws governing what is known as the "auction of currency sales" in the Central Bank of Iraq.

Under the pretext of maintaining the stability of the Iraqi dinar exchange rate against foreign currencies, the Central Bank of Iraq sells large amounts of money daily from the US dollar currency, to traders who say they use them to import the goods that the country needs from abroad.

After the tightening of the American screws on the Iranian economy, specifically during the past year, the currency auction in the Central Bank of Iraq has turned into the most important Iranian window for obtaining the dollar, while informed sources say that approximately $ 40 billion was transferred from Iraq to accounts abroad during 2019.

Iraq does not have a tight banking system, so money laundering operations are common, as well as the facilities smugglers get at Iraqi border crossings with neighboring countries, providing an ideal environment for smuggling foreign currencies.

Electricity contracts

The second Iranian condition that the new Iraqi Prime Minister must abide by is the maintenance of electricity purchase contracts between Baghdad and Tehran.

The Iraqi government does not provide clear data on these contracts, but informed sources say that it is centered around a thousand megawatts of energy sold by Tehran to Baghdad, in exchange for an amount that is very high compared to the prevailing prices in the region, noting that Baghdad does not get anything from these thousand megawatts during The summer months, when the demand for electricity inside Iran increases and the possibility of export disappears, yet Tehran gets its full dues from Baghdad, as if it had exported all of the agreed upon quantity.

In light of the scarcity of Iranian external resources, the revenues resulting from the contract to supply Iraq with electricity are an important financial source for Tehran.

Baghdad and Najaf airports

The Iraqi airspace is a vital navigational passage for Iran, as it is the link between its lands and its spheres of influence in Syria and Lebanon, so the Iraqi airports should always be open to Iranian aviation.

Tehran did not get rid of the headache of Iraqi airports only when the leader of the Badr Organization, Hadi al-Amiri, assumed the position of Minister of Transport in the government between 2010 and 2014, as he made a series of arrangements, which are still in effect so far, to ensure that Iranian aircraft pass through Iraqi airspace and airports smoothly.

Informed sources say that Iran has been transporting to Syria, through the airports of Najaf and Baghdad, for years, all that it needs to maintain its influence there, without hindrance. Therefore, maintaining this situation is the third Iranian condition for any new Iraqi Prime Minister.

International road

The fourth condition does not go far from the conditions of the third condition, but rather it relates to land rather than the air, as Iran wants the future Iraqi Prime Minister to keep the situation in the international roads linking Baghdad to Damascus and Amman as it is.

The sources say that the Iraqi militias allied with Iran have planted during the past two years about 60 monitoring and control teams along the international road between Baghdad, Damascus and Amman, which explains how to maintain support and support lines for the Popular Mobilization Forces stationed at several border points between Iraq and Syria, one of which is Recently bombed by the United States, and turned out to be a camp operated by the Hezbollah Brigades, Iraq.

Transfer visitors

Observers say that these four conditions are of strategic importance, in addition to three other conditions of lesser importance, but they are necessary to sustain Iranian momentum in the region.

The first of the three additional conditions is to maintain the system for transporting Iranian visitors to Iraq in its current form, given the significant economic benefits that it accrue to Tehran. No one knows publicly the circumstances that forced Baghdad to sign contracts to transport Iranian visitors to visit Shi'a shelters provided in Iraq, because they lose the rights of Iraqis and cut off all economic benefits to them.

Some of these conditions stipulate that the transportation of visitors is an exclusive process for Iranian companies, and that even feeding them is not the right of the Iraqi cities that host them.

Crowd salaries

The other condition relates to ensuring the flow of the PMF's salaries in the current formula, with about 30% of them going to special accounts, according to associates of this force.

When the previous Iraqi government required its military and civilian employees to open bank accounts and manage the process of receiving their monthly salaries via smart cards, to avoid fraud and get rid of the phenomenon of imaginary employees, leaders in the PMF created a ruse to get around the issue.

These leaders supervised the process of issuing salary cards to all members of the Popular Mobilization Forces, but they kept them with them after they took their secret operating numbers, and at the end of each month when the salaries were deducted in the fighters ’accounts, they spent them and paid part of them to the affiliate and kept another part, which saved large commissions. Informed sources say that this operation was carried out on the advice of Iran, which contributed to providing significant financial liquidity to the crowd leaders, out of the sight of the government or regulatory agencies.

The seventh Iranian condition for the upcoming Iraqi Prime Minister is to guarantee customs facilities for Iranian goods at the border crossings between the two countries.

Informed sources say that the more pressure the American economic sanctions put on Iran, the more the Iraqi border outlets will provide additional facilities for the Iranian suppliers to help them pump more quantities into the Iraqi interior. The Iraqi facilities helped Iran to overcome many cases of financial deficit, as the Iraqi market received more Iranian goods than its absorptive capacity.

We have known for years that Iran has abused the Auctions for their benefit.  We keep saying stop the auctions and we’ll RV.  We’ve also been saying that corruption and Iranian Influence was a concern for taking the Dinar International.  This is a tougher problem because Iran is using the Shite population in Iraq to get their puppets elected thus controlling the politics of Iraq.

Iran doesn’t want an RV. They are making Billions off the auctions.  It looks like the people are finally waking up and making demands from their government.  Hopefully between the Iraqi protestors and the Iranian protestors in Iran a better form of Government for both countries can prevail.

What is the other condition we all know Iraq needs to RV.  A stable Government.   Maybe the protestors are bringing this corrupt Iraqi Government to a turning point.  A point where the Government is more interested in helping it’s own people instead of a Government run by Iranian puppets who squander and steal the People’s money.

Great article Thugs.  It really sums up a lot of the problems Iraq has been dealing with since the Saddam era.

Oh Rochester. No longer does the US want control of M.E. oil as we are a net exporter of oil to the world. We, the US are not vulnerable to OPEC + anymore . We the US don't care . Europe, Africa, and the rest of the free world do not want who controls what share of the world oil market to change. At least they do not want countries that are hostile to them to gain a larger share of the world oil market by force or proxy. We the US do not need to care anymore. Recall that when IRAN (Who wants to control the flow of M.E. oil ) bombed S.A. oil facility and knocked out 5 % of the world oil supply. Then the ppb shot up at the thought of what this would mean to competition. Then we/the US released oil from our oil reserves and U.S. companies bumped up production. Well in 4 days time the ppb went back to what it was before. And the S.A. started repairs . Facts not brain washing from college profs from the 80's .

U.S. does not want to control M.E. oil? Then...if that is true...then the U.S. is acting quite strangely, by building a $750 Million Embassy in Baghdad and then staying there, much longer than we need to, if access to their oil was the only concern. It's not the only concern. My guess as to why the U.S. wants to control M.E. oil: not so much that they need the oil. (they don't, you are right about that). It's more like, the political practicality that: if America doesn't stay in Iraq, then Iran will move in, with it's army, and claim control over a very sizable chunk of the world's oil. Since Iran hates our guts and wants to build or buy nuclear weapons and Iran hates SA, our biggest oil ally, who helps prop up the American dollar by only trading oil in dollars, America has plenty of motivation to control ME oil....even if America exports oil.

If the U.S. leaves the ME and things go bad and some bad scenarios play out, there is a very high cost to the U.S., if that happens. Avoiding those costs is best, which is why America still has troops in Iraq....imo
