Today, Tuesday, the "resigned" Prime Minister, Adel Abdul-Mahdi, suggested that he nominate a head of the new government within the next few hours or days, expressing his readiness to cooperate and assist this government, while noting that the general budget for the coming year is ready for delivery.

Abdul-Mahdi said during a speech in the cabinet meeting that was broadcast on television this evening, that this government will continue until the formation of the new government and the handing over of tasks, stressing that it is not possible to imagine the existence of an administrative, political, security or governmental vacuum.

 

He added that the joyful thing is that there are contexts to form the new government and enable it within 30 days to choose the cabinet, indicating that consultations are continuing with the President of the Republic in this regard.
 

 

He explained that the message of the House of Representatives to the President of the Republic opens the right path for selecting the Prime Minister, and it is likely that the choice will take place in the coming days or hours.

And Abdul-Mahdi considered , the parliament’s letter to the President of the Republic has determined the largest bloc that chose the Prime Minister in 2018 and on the basis of which this government was formed.
