This is so confusing. I don't know what to believe.

It's not confusing, it's just stupid. The key to understanding it is to go with the most cynical interpretation.

In this case, the Iranian puppets just tried to fool the Iraqi protesters by playing a shell game with two guys named Allawi. The protesters wanted Ali Allawi, so the Iranians said, "Suuuuuuure, here ya go!" and appointed Muhammed Allawi.

Like I said. Stupid.

It's like a Mel Brooks movie, but instead of laughter it'll end in hangings.

The next time any of you are disgusted by hoax impeachments and hoax Russia conspiracies, look to what Iraqi politicians just tried to pull here. You may feel a little bit better about US politics. But only a little.

The representative of the victory coalition, Nada Shaker, saw on Tuesday that the visit of the President of the Republic to attend the Davos conference is not necessary at present without resolving the issue of assigning a new prime minister.
Jawdat said in a statement to the "information", that "the country is going through the most difficult and dangerous stage in terms of the security and political circumstance and the presence of the President of the Republic is influential in order to pressure the political blocs to reach a consensus in the name of the next prime minister."
She added that "there is no urgent need for Saleh to travel to Davos without resolving the assignment of a new prime minister in addition to the situation and its development hours, not days, that requires the president to assign a political figure to act on his behalf."
It is scheduled that the President of the Republic will leave later today, Tuesday, to the Swiss city of Davos, with the aim of participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos. Ended in / 25 pm

His office: "Intelligence of a neighboring country" promotes the death of Allawi in preparation for his assassination

Baghdad / ... The office of the leader of the National Coalition, Iyad Allawi, accused, on Tuesday, "intelligence of a neighboring country" of promoting the death of the latter in preparation for his assassination, "as happened during the rule of the previous regime," while stressing that Allawi is attending regional and international conferences outside Iraq, calling on the media To be precise.

Allawi's office said in a statement received by "Eye of Iraq News", "Today is like yesterday", explaining that "before the previous attempt to assassinate Iyad Allawi in London, which led him to accompany the hospital for more than a year, that cowardly operation supervised and managed by Barzan Ibrahim Al-Takriti Saddam's chief of intelligence, some radio stations broadcast two months before the assassination attempt, Allawi was killed by gunfire as he was leaving his residence in London.

"Today, the intelligence services of a neighboring country repeat the news of the death of Dr. Allawi, which he used to fight and stand against, as recognized by one of its most prominent leaders when he told the doctor, we worked against you, and he answered him, and I also against you, in front of living witnesses who provide them members of the House of Representatives, including prime ministers."

The statement continued, "Today, a story has spread that we see that it is from these same malicious and vile parties that stood and are still against Allawi and were able to power in Iraq because of the regret of the weak Arab positions on the one hand and the weakness of international positions on the other hand," pointing to "the allegation of these devices that the doctor Allawi is dead in preparation for his assassination, as today it is like yesterday. "

The statement of Allawi's office confirmed, "This news is completely false from health," noting that Allawi "is in good health and today he stands with our people, who are strongly resentful and reject foreign domination, whether regional or international."

Allawi's office called for "professional and free media to be accurate in conveying information and making sure before it is transmitted from its truth," stressing that "Allawi attends regional and international conferences outside Iraq and his health is good and he defends the issues of the people of Iraq and not its rulers, and the countries of moderation and their people in the Arab region."

It is noteworthy that unanimous communication sites and some media circulated yesterday evening, Monday, news that Allawi had died in a Baghdad hospital. Finished 2

Iraq is rising and the president in Davos .. Analysts: Saleh failed to prioritize

Amid a new wave of demonstrations sweeping the country that has caused at least five deaths in the past two days, the Iraqis were surprised, on Tuesday, that President Barham Saleh traveled to Switzerland to attend the Davos conference.

The news of Saleh's travel to Davos, angered Iraqi tweets on Twitter, as some of them considered a flaw in assessing the priorities of the stage for the Iraqi president.

US President Donald Trump is scheduled to meet Iraqi President Barham Salih and the President of the Kurdistan Region, Negervan Barzani, in two separate meetings.

On the other hand, observers were divided over the priority of the visit at the present time, as the travel of the President of the Republic comes at a stormy time the country is going through, while others said that this falls within his presidential tasks.

Iraq is witnessing a new wave of demonstrations after the deadline granted by the demonstrators to the government to choose a new prime minister and to prosecute those who caused the killing of the demonstrators, but that none of them has been implemented.

ON THE LINK

The clock is ticking ... prospective demonstrators' "tactics" in Iraq, with Iran's weak will

Political analyst Raad Hashem, said in an interview with "Al-Hurra Site" that the invitation to attend the Davos conference was received by the Iraqi president long before and before all these events occurred, and they were answered with approval at the time.

Hashem believes that, far from the invitation, Barham Saleh would have "failed in the task of choosing a new prime minister for Iraq, because he could not find a consensus between the parties on the one hand and the Shiite authorities on the other hand, while each side refuses to concede."

For his part, says political analyst Raad Al-Kaabi, that there is a problem in coordination between the authorities in the state, in terms of knowing the powers, they are acting from the logic of leadership.

In his interview with Al-Hurra, Al-Kaabi said that the Prime Minister was supposed to attend the Davos Forum because he is the one who has broad powers according to the constitution compared to the President of the Republic.

The Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi submitted his resignation in November last year, but he is still exercising his duties within the caretaker government until the election of a new prime minister.

Iraqi political analyst Hussein Allawi believes that despite Saleh discussing important files during the Davos conference, this will cause a state of tension in the Iraqi street in light of these difficult circumstances.

Allawi said in a phone call with the "Free Site", "While attending the Davos conference, Saleh will focus on three main issues, namely the level of US-Iraqi relations, Iraq's membership in the international coalition against ISIS, and the promotion of investment and development opportunities in Iraq."

Allawi added that Saleh's travel comes in light of mass demands to choose a prime minister, who rejected all the names proposed by the political forces.

It is likely that Saleh will not discuss the issue of choosing the expected Iraqi Prime Minister with the American President, but will come at the forefront of the issues to be discussed, the US military presence in Iraq and ways to combat terrorism, and the path of US-Iraqi relations in the economic and political fields.

Commissioning Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi as prime minister at ten in the evening

A political analyst, Mohamed Tawfiq Allawi, was appointed this evening to head the transitional government Monday evening.
"Now, according to the confirmed information, Muhammad Allawi will be assigned at exactly ten o'clock in the evening, under the leadership of the prime minister," Wasiq al-Hashemi said in a press statement.

He added that "there is a private plane that went to Beirut to bring Allawi to assign him officially," noting that "in Iraq there are changes that may happen at any moment."

Al-Hashemi added, "It seems that the political consensus between [the other parties and the Fatah] and other parties has agreed to choose Muhammad Allawi. Therefore, President of the Republic Barham Saleh will go tomorrow to Switzerland to participate in the Davos Forum and meet with President Trump."

The protesters are slipping, they need to shut down the airport as well. An why they stopped the demand for this incompetent president to resign is beyond me.
This screwed up country needs a complete do over from top to bottom. The problem with getting rid of this useless president would mean putting that Iranian puppet speaker of the Parliament in charge.
Come on you bunch of protesters, step up the pressure on this sorry excuse of a government...

Baghdad / Obelisk: Member of the House of Representatives for the victory coalition, Hoda Sajjad, affirmed on Tuesday, January 21, 2020 that the oversight role of the House of Representatives will not stop during the legislative recess, and that the supervisory work will continue.

Sajjad said in a press statement, seen by the "obelisk", that "many MPs prefer to work during the legislative holiday and perform their supervisory duties."

She explained, "The proposal to postpone the legislative term is against the constitution," noting that "there are two legislative seasons in one year, between one and the last two months of legislative holiday, which have been reduced to one month, and according to the constitution, we cannot postpone the legislative term."

And carpets continued, that "in the event of a vote on the budget or a candidate for the prime minister, there will be an extraordinary session and attendance is necessary especially that according to the constitution the legislative term is not lifted if the budget arrives."

Deputy: The President of the Republic succumbed to the pressure of quotas advocates and did not name a Prime Minister

On Tuesday, MP Mohammed Al-Khaldi considered that the President of the Republic succumbed to the pressure of the quota advocates and did not name a Prime Minister.

Al-Khalidi said in a statement that Alsumaria News received a copy of it, "The national forces and personalities have endeavored, with continuous and continuous efforts, for nearly two months and more to reach a strong national, political and popular agreement on a strong personality that can cross the political process to safety."

He added that "those efforts reached their final stages after we submitted the signatures of more than 170 deputies to the specifications that should be met by the candidate for the post of prime minister, and after that we presented the name of a candidate accompanied by the signatures of more than 60 deputies, and we were able to gather the national class towards a person with specifications agreed upon in order to assign it to the president Republic yesterday evening. "

Al-Khalidi stressed, "The president of the republic was supposed to announce the name of the candidate yesterday, but he gave in to pressure from the quota-sharing advocates who did not like them to liberate Iraq from the hegemony of the parties and to achieve the change that was called for by the demonstrations."

He pointed out that, "From this standpoint, after the quotas have succeeded in passing their will and passed their word and failed everything that we went through to achieve the aspirations of the street with change, we leave the decision today to the largest bloc and the decision-maker and all the authorities, which is the Iraqi people to defend their rights by peaceful means that they deem appropriate. And to serve Iraq and achieve the legitimate and constitutional demands. "

IRAQI PARTIES CONTINUE TO WRANGLE OVER NEXT PM, AS PROTESTERS REJECT TWO NAMES

SULAIMANI — As protests continued in the streets of Baghdad and the southern provinces on Tuesday (January 21), Iraqi political leaders continued to wrangle over who should take over from caretaker Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi.

Several names have been floated, but have either been rejected by the political blocs in parliament or by protesters in Tahrir Square.

Among those reportedly being considered by the parties are former communications minister Muhammad Tawfiq Allawi and former minister of planning Ali Yousif al-Shukri, and head of the intelligence service Mustafa al-Kazemi.

Kazemi has previously indicated that he would not seek the post himself.

On Monday, the State of Law Coalition issued a statement expressing a preference for Shukri.

On Tuesday, protesters hung posters in Tahrir Square near the Turkish restaurant building with the faces of Allawi and Shukri crossed out in red, indicating that their candidacies had been rejected by the street.

Both have previously held positions in the government and the protesters have demanded that any new head of government be someone who has never held a senior position in the government, which they see as a fundamentally corrupt system.

Shi'ite militias threaten to expel Iraqi President if he meets with Trump

3035212

leaders of the Iraqi Shi'ite Popular Mobilization Units (PMU) threatened to expel Iraqi President Barham Saleh from Baghdad, if he meet with U.S. President Donald Trump, or any of his aides, during the upcoming World Economic Forum in Davos, Switzerland.

The threats come a day after the White House announced that President Trump will be meeting on the sidelines of the economic forum with several world leaders including his Iraqi counterpart.

The meeting would be the first between a U.S. official and Iraqi official since the escalation between Washington and Iran erupted following the assassination of Qassem Soleimani.

This report will examine the threats to Iraqi President Saleh made by two PMU groups.

In response to the news of the proposed meeting, Hizballah Brigades military chief, Abu 'Ali Al-'Askari, tweeted: "We stress the requirement for Barham Saleh not to meet with Trump, the fool, or his gang of killers who will be accompanying him. If he meets with them, Iraqis will take a stance against him, because he will be opposing the will of the people and ignoring the noble blood, which this gang spilled.

We will tell him in that case; You are not welcome, and the free-men of our people will expel him from Baghdad, the city of pride and dignity."
