The source said to "Al-Akhbaria", that "the special division was deployed from the main door to the second section of the embassy." He added: "The commander of the Special Forces, Shihab Brigade, arrived at the head of the force in front of the embassy." Looks like things are now under control. Strangely, no reports of protesters killed. ... Oh, wait, the protesters weren't protesting against the Iranians. Go figure!? Happy New Year! (Photo: Local medi Iraq Baghdad US PMF Hashd al-Shaabi A+AA- ERBIL (Kurdistan 24) – Iraq’s outgoing Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi on Tuesday vowed “most severe” punishments for anyone who attacks the US Embassy in Baghdad’s Green Zone, in front of which crowds composed of Iranian-backed militias and their supporters are currently gathered. On Tuesday afternoon, thousands of supporters of the Hashd al-Shaabi militias, also known as the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), marched toward the American mission compound in Baghdad to condemn US airstrikes two days earlier that killed and wounded dozens of militia fighters. Footage from the scene showed thousands gathered around the US Embassy, waving Iraqi and Hashd al-Shaabi flags and chanting “Death to America!” slogans in opposition to America’s presence in the country. Among the participants of the gathering were leaders and top commanders of militias within the PMF, including Falih Fayyadh, Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, Hadi al-Amiri, Qais Khazali, and Abu Alaa al-Wala’i, among others. Read More: Iraqi protesters attempt to storm US Embassy in Baghdad in retaliation for airstrikes Embassy guards fired tear gas at the crowds to prevent them from attacking the building. Iraqi counter-terrorism forces are deployed at the location. Abdul-Mahdi said in a statement that his administration had condemned the US airstrikes and “took a series of measures to address the situation in a way that secures the sovereignty of Iraq and the security of its citizens.” He called on those gathered at the US Embassy to continue with their ceremony of honoring their dead – militias who died in the airstrikes – but urged them to stay away from the mission building, for which, Abdul Mahdi said, the Iraqi government is responsible for protecting. “Therefore, we ask everyone to leave these places immediately, and we note that any aggression or harassment of foreign embassies and missions is an act that the security forces will strictly prevent, and the law will punish [attackers] with the most severe penalties.” The incident comes after the US launched five strikes on Sunday against facilities belonging to the Iraqi militia, Kata’ib Hizbollah, as it charged that the Iranian-backed entity was behind a lethal attack on K-1, an Iraqi military base outside Kirkuk where American troops are stationed. On Monday, the Iraqi government condemned the US operation, describing it as “an unacceptable vicious assault that will have dangerous consequences.” The developments occur amid ongoing anti-government protests in central and southern parts of Iraq that have left over 500 people dead and close to 20,000 more injured, according to unofficial statistics, leading to Abdul Mahdi’s resignation. 6ly410
US TO SEND MARINES TO EMBASSY IN IRAQ AS TRUMP BLAMES IRAN FOR ATTACK Militia supporters set fire to a reception room of the US Embassy, during a protest to condemn air strikes on bases belonging to Hashd al-Shaabi (paramilitary forces), in Baghdad, Iraq December 31, 2019. REUTERS/Wissm al-Okili 10 minutes ago http://www.nrttv.com/En/News.aspx?id=18709&MapID=2 L SULAIMANI — US President Donald Trump blamed Iran on Tuesday (December 31) for “orchestrating” an attack on the US embassy in Baghdad and said he would hold Tehran responsible, as officials said more Marines were expected to be sent to the mission. US officials, speaking on condition of anonymity, told Reuters that a small number of additional Marines were expected to go to the US embassy in Baghdad, according to Reuters. One official said they were expected to number in the dozens and would be there temporarily. Another official said two Apache helicopters carried out a “show of force” over the embassy. The US State Department and White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment on whether the American ambassador and other staff had been evacuated from the embassy compound in the Iraqi capital. Iraqi officials said the ambassador and other staff were evacuated from the embassy for their safety on Tuesday, as thousands of militia supporters thronged the gates in fury at US air strikes in Iraq. On Monday, State Department officials said Washington had exhibited restraint and patience in the face of escalating provocations from Iran or Iranian-backed groups, but that it was time to re-establish deterrence against Iranian aggression. “We had very much hoped that Iran would not miscalculate and confuse our restraint for weakness. But after so many attacks it was important for the president to direct our armed forces to respond in a way that the Iranian regime will understand,” Brian Hook, the US special representative for Iran, told reporters. Why are American Soldiers firing none lethal weapons at invaders? Why is POTUS not accusing Iraq of allowing an attack on American soil and responding accordingly? Why was the order not given to strife the violent attackers with machine gun rounds from Blackhawk helicopters? Why have American troops not been order to take Baghdad and control of the Iraqi government for their allowing the American Embassy to be attacked? But the biggest tale tale of all is this, Why is it that the supposed American hating attackers have NOT KILLED or even injured one American? Remember Benghazi? That was a real assault. And 4 Americans lost their lives. The Benghazi attackers would have killed many more if they could. Are we really supposed to believe that Iran sent hundreds of attackers with NO WEAPONS to attack the Embassy of the most powerful nation in the world? Are we really stupid enough to accept that the supposed Iranian protest attackers would willingly attack the Embassy of the most powerful nation on earth without weapons? REALLY And now everyone thinks that this is a setback for the RV. I submit to all that this entire event is a False Flag with one intention. To garner support of the American and Iraqi people for the impending American assault against the Iranian government. POTUS has used this event to blame Iran for it's interference in Iraq, and stated that he will respond. The Iranian interference with Iraqi politics is soon to be a thing of the pasts. Furthermore, if you read what Master Yota has been posting then you know that they are about to implement the In-term Government in Iraq. These events are not the end of the RV, But rather they are the beginning of it. This is the very definition of SUDDENLY An event that occurs when no one is expecting it to. 3 4

The US is too smart for that behavior if there was no imminent threat to life. This seems like a big issue just now, but it is street theatre. Lots of barking, graffiti clearly showing Iranian influence, which is more condemning and will be broadcast all over the Iraqi media--for good or bad. So, a gate busted. No protestors killed. Sure, some of the PMF were involved, but they are on camera. They can be disciplined, if anyone has the nuts. Big picture: No embassy staff killed. And, the use of non-lethal force is very strategic and will be recognized by the larger public who didn't go to riot. The use of non-lethal violence against protesters in this scenario is brilliant and sends a resounding message, as does the use of violence against pro-Iranian PMFs. This is just another chess move in a larger game for the negotiation tables with a continually weakened Iran. The Iranian public is also watching. It's is my hope/opinion that the prize is the RV of the Iraqi dinar. Otherwise what is the concern for America to even be there? We produce more oil than they do and we don't really need permission to do whatever it takes to stop terrorism. 1 2
