THE PARTY'S ABOUT OVER FOR THE UNSCRUPULOUS, IMMORAL MACHIAVELLIAN DEMOCRATIC SOCIALISTS PARTY.

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Tuesday, November 5, 2019

Joint Statement from Department of Justice, DOD, DHS, DNI, FBI, NSA, and CISA on Ensuring Security of 2020 Elections

Attorney General William Barr, Secretary of Defense Mark Esper, Acting Secretary of Homeland Security Kevin McAleenan, Acting Director of National Intelligence Joseph Maguire, FBI Director Christopher Wray, U.S. Cyber Command Commander and NSA Director Gen. Paul Nakasone, and CISA Director Christopher Krebs today released the following joint statement:

“Today, dozens of states and local jurisdictions are hosting their own elections across the country and, less than a year from now, Americans will go to the polls and cast their votes in the 2020 presidential election. Election security is a top priority for the United States Government. Building on our successful, whole-of-government approach to securing the 2018 elections, we have increased the level of support to state and local election officials in their efforts to protect elections. The federal government is prioritizing the sharing of threat intelligence and providing support and services that improve the security of election infrastructure across the nation.

In an unprecedented level of coordination, the U.S. government is working with all 50 states and U.S. territories, local officials, and private sector partners to identify threats, broadly share information, and protect the democratic process. We remain firm in our commitment to quickly share timely and actionable information, provide support and services, and to defend against any threats to our democracy.

Our adversaries want to undermine our democratic institutions, influence public sentiment and affect government policies. Russia, China, Iran, and other foreign malicious actors all will seek to interfere in the voting process or influence voter perceptions. Adversaries may try to accomplish their goals through a variety of means, including social media campaigns, directing disinformation operations or conducting disruptive or destructive cyber-attacks on state and local infrastructure.

While at this time we have no evidence of a compromise or disruption to election infrastructure that would enable adversaries to prevent voting, change vote counts or disrupt the ability to tally votes, we continue to vigilantly monitor any threats to U.S. elections.

The U.S. government will defend our democracy and maintain transparency with the American public about our efforts. An informed public is a resilient public. Americans should go to trusted sources for election information, such as their state and local election officials. We encourage every American to report any suspicious activity to their local officials, the FBI, or DHS. In past election cycles, reporting by Americans about suspicious activity provided valuable insight which has made our elections more secure. The greatest means to combat these threats is a whole-of-society effort.

Democrats win full control of Virginia statehouse

RICHMOND, Va. (AP) -- Virginia Democrats continued their winning streak under President Trump on Tuesday and took full control of the statehouse for the first time in more than two decades.

Suburban voters turned out in big numbers to back Democratic candidates, continuing a trend of once GOP-friendly suburbs turning blue. This is the third election in a row in which Democrats made significant gains since Trump was elected.

"I'm here to officially declare today, November 5, 2019, that Virginia is officially blue," Democratic Gov. Ralph Northam told a crowd of supporters in Richmond.

Of the four states with legislative elections this year, Virginia is the only one where control of the statehouse was up for grabs. Republicans had slim majorities in both the state House and Senate.

National groups, particularly those aligned with Democrats, pumped huge amounts of money into the contests as a way to test-drive expensive messaging and get-out-the-vote campaigns ahead of the 2020 cycle. Gun control and clean-energy groups affiliated with former New York City Mayor Michael Bloomberg spent several million dollars helping Democrats.

Virginia also drew several high-profile visits from 2020 presidential hopefuls, including former Vice President Joe Biden, as well as current Vice President Mike Pence.

President Donald Trump tried to rally Republicans via Twitter but stayed out of Virginia, a state he lost in 2016.

The only candidate Trump endorsed by name, Republican Geary Higgins, was handily defeated in a contest for a northern Virginia Senate district that was previously held by the GOP.

The president's election three years ago has been disastrous for Virginia Republicans, particularly in growing suburban areas. Democrats have won every statewide contest, picked up three additional congressional seats and now are set to control both the state house and the Executive Mansion for the first time since 1994.

Republicans hoped in vain that an off-year election with no statewide candidates on the ballot would help defuse the anti-Trump energy that powered previous cycles. GOP lawmakers also bet on the specter of a possible Trump impeachment providing a last-minute surge by motivating the Republican base.

Democrats have pledged that when they take power, they will pass an agenda that Republicans have blocked for years, including stricter gun laws, a higher minimum wage and ratification of the Equal Rights Amendment, making Virginia the final state needed for possible passage of the gender equality measure.

Democrats were keenly focused on gun issues during the election, saying Republicans should be held accountable for failing to pass new restrictions after a mass shooting in Virginia Beach earlier this year.

Republicans accused Democrats of trying to use the tragedy for political gain while focusing heavily on past Democratic efforts to loosen restrictions for third-trimester abortion. The GOP also warned of higher taxes and energy prices if they lose the majority.

House Majority Leader Todd Gilbert on Tuesday predicted that Democrats would pursue an "extreme agenda" that would undo Republican efforts to make Virginia a business-friendly state.

"Virginians should expect public policies that look a lot more like the train-wreck that is California than the Virginia of good fiscal management and common-sense conservative governance," Gilbert said in a statement.

Tuesday's election could help cement Democratic rule for the next decade, because the winners will decide who controls the next redistricting process. Lawmakers approved a proposed constitutional amendment this year that would create a new bipartisan commission empowered to draw legislative and congressional maps, but Democrats would have to sign off on it again next year before it could be presented to voters.

Say hello to the New California.

I would get the h*ll out as soon as possible.

I have seen what happens to a Democrat run state and it is not pretty.

Example:  Los Angeles, San Francisco

In summary.....Virginia was red for a very long time......that changed with Obama.....good for him.....and how has completely bought in.....

Kentucky went 7 of 8 red.....including the AG which hadn't ben red in something like 70 years..... the Governor barely won his primary.....he was that unpopular....

Perhaps a take away here is that the Trump faithful aren't completely mindless with blind support for whoever Trump backs.......some of them voted their conscience.........if they hadn't Kentucky would have been a clean sweep for the red......

Mississippi ......(always love spelling that).....no big surprises....

Now to 2020......I don't see any candidate that can beat Trump......the Senate won't flip......and the House.....we'll see how the move towards socialism goes......and all of those who voted yes on moving forward with the impeachment inquiry do in those districts that Trump won in 2016....

So.... is the sky falling........nope....even though the MSM is singing that song....    CL

Even retiring Republican politicians with nothing to lose have given in to listening to their conscience and speaking out against Trump.....The message is most definitely getting out.  Imagine if truth outweighed votes....wouldn't that be a hoot.

This is what our resident liberals want for America

Republicans are taking a beating because they are backing a loser, corrupt criminal instead of backing their voters... It behooves me to think some of these guys are throwing away their legacies in support of a guy who has turned America into a laughing stock and a banana republic. Lindsey Graham refuses to read the transcripts? How is that serving the public?

These so called public servants have become party slaves... And I'm talking about people on both sides... JMHO

Believe what you want.  If you're still thinking in terms of Democrats and republicans you have no clue what's going on.  I suppose you actually think that the Hildabeast would have been a better President.

Don't be a fool.... You know I didn't vote for Clinton... Let's face it, Trump is out of control and is damaging America in ways that they take until your daughters are old enough to vote... As for the rest of incumbents, we need to vote them out NOW! They are not governing they are playing games like kids in the schoolyard... Public Servant... Not Party Slaves... Time for them to go... JMHO

I very much have a clue to what's going on. It is obvious you have no clue or you would admit Trump is not making America great.
