A halt to the dollar's sale at the central bank has prevented large fake funds from reaching Iran, an informed source said on Sunday.

"The central bank is wasting money that can build 200 schools and 50 hospitals each year because of the currency auction," the source told Al-Ikhbaria.

"The currency auction gives fake commercial agencies millions of dollars a day without any restriction," the source said, speaking on condition of anonymity.

He added that "stop selling the dollar in the Central Bank in the past days because of demonstrations and new measures prevent the arrival of large fake commercial funds to Iran through its intermediaries."

A senior White House official told Al-Arabiya television that the United States would impose sanctions if Iraqi officials were found to be involved in cracking down on demonstrations, noting that Washington knew that Qassem Soleimani was suppressing the protests and was in Baghdad.

The US official said in an exclusive interview with "Al Arabiya.net" that the situation in Iraq is very bad and there are many deaths among young people, we do not want to give the impression that the United States is intervening in Iraq because some will use this and use it as evidence of Western intervention and this is the case In Lebanon, where there are accusations that we are behind the demonstrations, but we know that Iran is behind the attempts to suppress the revolutions.

"The Iranian intervention in Iraq is clear and we know that Qassem Soleimani went to Baghdad and told the government how to suppress these demonstrations and the Iranians know how to achieve this goal. We know there are reports that his sniper was behind the killing of many demonstrators." "We have even seen Iraqi football players wearing a mask on their face in a football match against Iran in solidarity with the demonstrators, and although solidarity is symbolic, it will attract world attention," he said. "We discussed the demonstration in Iraq as well as the situation in Lebanon and Syria at the meeting of the strategic alliance in the Middle East, known as Mesa, which includes the Gulf Cooperation Council countries along with Egypt and Jordan in order to come up with a unified international response on Iraq." "We appreciate the role of the United Nations and its mission in Iraq. I think it can help support new elections and review the electoral law so that the new government is in a better position to meet the needs of the Iraqi citizen," he said.

Campaign of violence

Abizaid . "But we want to find other ways to support the demonstrators, and I think it's in providing medical aid to the protesters." "We see a reaction from the Iraqi people and the demonstrators, which is hostile to Iran in nature, and it will be difficult to arrest them only with a campaign of violence and arrests, and this will be condemned in the Security Council and by the international community." "This may be the best way to reverse Iran's influence in Iraq," the official said. "We will not hesitate to impose sanctions on Iraqi officials, including banning the entry of the United States and freezing their assets. We have done this in the past with our NATO ally. "We are also constrained by Congress's law not to provide weapons to the security services in Iraq if they are found to be involved in human rights abuses. So we warned our partners in the Iraqi government as well as the security forces if they crack down on the demonstrators, we will stop supporting them. "The investigation and review of all military assistance provided by the United States to Iraq are its values and this applies to Iraq and Lebanon."

The Iranian Foreign Ministry condemned Sunday evening the support announced by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo for the protests in Iran.

On Saturday, Pompeo, in his first comment on the wave of new protests in Iran, that the United States "stands with the Iranian people," calling these protests "uprising." A spokesman for the Iranian Foreign Ministry, Abbas Mousavi, in a statement: "We condemn the support of the US Secretary of State for a number of troublemakers in some Iranian cities and we consider that interference in Iranian affairs."

The spokesman described Pompeo's remarks as "hypocritical and opportunistic," adding that the Iranian people "realize that they do not constitute any sincere solidarity with him." "The events of chaos and sabotage supported by Pompeo are absolutely incompatible with the personality of the whole conscious Iranian people," Mousavi said. Pompeo spoke of the United States' solidarity with a people "under the pressure of American economic terrorism," the foreign ministry spokesman said.

A member of the parliamentary legal committee Salim Hamza, said Monday that the completion of a project from where this will contribute to ending the authority of the parties over the Iraqi money and will enable Iraq to bring 200 billion dollars.

Hamza told "news", that "the completion of a project from where this will contribute to ending the authority of the parties over the Iraqi money, and will enable Iraq to bring 200 billion dollars." "The new Integrity Act can unify the fight against corruption in the country," he added.

The supreme religious authority in Najaf stressed yesterday in the Friday sermon that the government derives its legitimacy, in non-authoritarian regimes and the like, from the people, and there is no one to grant it legitimacy. Hence, it is important to accelerate the adoption of a fair electoral law that restores citizens' confidence in the electoral process, does not bias political parties and currents, and gives a real opportunity to change the forces that have ruled the country over the past years, if the people want to change them and replace new faces.

Secret documents published for the first time explain how Iran exercises power in Iraq

adil.jpg

18th November, 2019

A leaked classified Iranian intelligence document showed how the regime in Tehran exercises power in Iraq through Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani, the New York Times reported on Monday.

The unprecedented leaks reveal Tehran's "tremendous" influence in Iraq, which shows years of hard work by Iranian spies to choose the country's leaders, pay the salaries of Iraqi proxies working for the Americans to change their positions and infiltrate every aspect of political, economic and religious life in Iraq. Iraq.

According to an Iranian intelligence cable, the current prime minister, Adel Abdul Mahdi, worked in exile closely with Iran while Saddam Hussein was in power in Iraq. The cable indicates that Abdul Mahdi had a special relationship with Iran's Revolutionary Guards when he was oil minister in 2014.

According to the newspaper, one of the former senior US officials warned of his current downfall, "but no Iraqi politician can become prime minister without the blessing of Iran. When he became prime minister in 2018, he was seen as a compromise candidate acceptable to both Iran and the United States.

It offers an extraordinary glimpse into the Iranian secret regime. They also detail the extent to which Iraq has fallen under Iranian influence since the US invasion in 2003, which has turned Iraq into a gateway to Iranian power, linking the geography of the Islamic Republic to domination from the shores of the Persian Gulf to the Mediterranean.

According to the newspaper, the Iranian intelligence reports that were leaked confirms largely what was already known about Iran's firm grip on Iraqi politics. But far more than previously known reports reveal the extent to which Iran and the United States are using Iraq as a launching pad for spy games.

The reports highlighted the complex domestic policy of the Iranian government, where rival factions are grappling with many of the same challenges faced by US occupation forces as they struggle to stabilize Iraq after the US invasion. The documents show how, at almost every turn, Iran has outperformed the United States in the competition for influence. The archive consisted of hundreds of reports and leaks mainly written in 2014 and 2015 by officers of Iran's Ministry of Intelligence and Security, who were working in the field in Iraq.

He added: "States are obliged in accordance with the Charter of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to protect their citizens, and that what is happening in Iraq, according to the description of Tamimi "genocide," stressing that Iraq's position is very difficult in light of the continued violations against demonstrators.

Iran's Revolutionary Guards said on Monday it would "continue to act decisively against the ongoing protests against the decision to raise fuel prices," accusing the United States of supporting the unrest. The website "Sepah News" Iranian, the statement of the Revolutionary Guards: saying "We will continue to take decisive action against any attempt to disrupt security."

The statement continued: "What happened in Iran was the support of officials in America and the Pahlavi [royal family before the Iranian revolution], and psychological warfare played by the Zionist media," as he put it. There have been demonstrations in several Iranian cities since last Friday, to protest the government's decision to increase fuel prices, and renewed protests on Saturday morning, in the cities of Ahvaz, Sirjan, Bushehr, and Mashhad, which led to a number of deaths and injuries.

On Thursday evening, the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) issued a statement announcing a three-fold increase in the price of gasoline compared to its previous price in the country, amid widespread negative reactions inside the country, including some Iranian parliamentarians and government officials. Earlier this year, protests took place amid worsening economic conditions in the country, which is under constant US pressure, including sanctions against Iran's oil sector after US President Donald Trump pulled out of the 2015 nuclear deal.

Although Iran initially doubted Mr. Abadi's loyalties, a report written a few months after he came to the premiership indicated that he was fully prepared to establish a secret relationship with Iranian intelligence. A January 2015 report details a private meeting between Abadi and an intelligence ministry officer, known as Boroujerdi, held in the prime minister's office “without a secretary or third person.”

During the meeting, Boroujerdi tried to find out Abadi's opinion and plans on the most sensitive topic in Iraqi politics: the Sunni-Shiite divide in Iraq. "The Sunnis find themselves in the worst possible circumstances and have lost their self-confidence," he said.

"The Shiites in Iraq are at a historic turning point," Boroujerdi said. The Iraqi government and Iran can benefit from this situation. ”

According to the telegram, Prime Minister Abadi expressed “full agreement” with the idea.

But in the Iranian documents clear references to Tehran's dissatisfaction with Abadi from being "a British, who sought the Americans to put him at the head of the government."

The New York Times documents: Who are the Iraqi officials that Iran has put in its pocket?

The rise of ISIS has driven a wedge between the Obama administration and a large group of Iraqi political class. President Obama has pushed for the overthrow of Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki as a condition for renewed US military support. He believes that Mr. Maliki's brutal policies and crackdowns on Iraqi Sunnis have helped the rise of militants.

Maliki was a favorite of Tehran. His replacement, Haider al-Abadi, who was educated in Britain, was seen as more friendly to the West and less sectarian. Faced with the uncertainty of a new prime minister, then-Iranian Ambassador Hassan Dana'i Far, Iran's ambassador at the time, called for a secret meeting of senior officials at the embassy building, a huge fortified building outside Baghdad's Green Zone.

As the meeting progressed, it became clear that the Iranians had no reason to worry about the new Iraqi government. Mr Abadi was considered a “British man” and a “candidate for the Americans” but the Iranians thought they had a lot of other ministers in their pocket.

One by one, Danny Farr listed the cabinet members, describing their relations with Iran.

%D8%AD%D8%B3%D9%86-%D8%AF%D8%A7%D9%86%D8

Maliki and former Iranian ambassador Hassan Danae Far

* Ibrahim al-Jaafari, who was former Iraqi prime minister and by late 2014 was foreign minister, was identified, like Mr. Adel Abdul Mahdi, as having a “special relationship” with Iran.

* Ministers of Municipalities, Communications and Human Rights “in perfect harmony and one with us and our people.”

* The Minister of Environment “works with us, although he is Sunni.”

Bayan Jabr, who led the Iraqi Interior Ministry at a time when hundreds of prisoners were tortured to death by Shiite death squads - “very close” to Iran.

* The Iraqi Minister of Education, the report says, "We will not have a problem with him."

The former municipal, communications and human rights ministers are all members of the Badr Organization, a political and military group that Iran founded in the 1980s to oppose Saddam Hussein.

WASHINGTON - US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo warned Iran on Friday of a "decisive" response if US interests were harmed in Iraq after a series of missile attacks on military bases.
This came in a Tweet for "Pompeo" on Twitter, in which he condemned the attack that occurred near the capital's airport in Baghdad this week; and wounded 6 Iraqi soldiers. Pompeo accused "Iran's agents" of carrying out the said attack.
He added: "To Iran's leaders, the United States will respond decisively if Iran or its proxies harm US soldiers or our Iraqi partners."
"We must seize this opportunity to remind Iran's leaders that any attacks on their side or their representatives of any identity are detrimental to the Americans, our allies, or our interests, and will be answered decisively," Pompeo said.
He added, "Iran must respect the sovereignty of its neighbors and desist immediately (...) from supporting third parties in Iraq and throughout the region."
This warning comes after ten missile attacks since October 28 have targeted military bases housing US soldiers or US diplomatic missions in Iraq, including the United States embassy in the heavily fortified Green Zone in the capital, Baghdad.
Two missiles were fired on Wednesday night, Thursday, at a complex of American soldiers near Baghdad International Airport.
In one of the attacks, six Iraqi soldiers were wounded at dawn Monday, with four rockets falling on a nearby military base in the vicinity of Baghdad International Airport.
The US Secretary of State attributed the attacks, which no one has claimed responsibility for, to "Iran's agents", expressing his hope for "the speedy and complete recovery of these brave Iraqis."
Rocket attacks targeting Iraqi camps in which US soldiers are stationed have been repeated since early December.
On the fifth of this month, two rockets landed inside the "Balad Air Base", in Salah al-Din Governorate (north), two days after 5 rockets landed in "Ain al-Assad Air Force Base", in Anbar Province (west).
The attacks did not cause losses among the American forces, but they come at a time of escalating tension between Washington and Tehran, which are allies of Baghdad, amid fears that Iraq will turn into a battleground between the two countries.
US officials allude to the involvement of Shiite factions close to Tehran in the attacks.
And about 5 thousand American soldiers are deployed in several military bases throughout Iraq, in the framework of the international coalition to fight the terrorist organization "ISIS".
Iran has wide influence in Iraq, especially among the PMF factions that Tehran finances and trains.
Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated since Washington withdrew from the nuclear agreement with Tehran last year, and imposed heavy sanctions on Tehran.
