The Prime Minister said that strengthening relations with the federal government was one of the priorities of the new government formation, stressing that his visit to Baghdad after he supervised the first cabinet meeting represented a goodwill gesture of desire to reach a fair agreement under the constitution.

He continued: "Strengthening relations with Baghdad has a positive impact, not only on the daily life of the citizens of Kurdistan, but also on the daily life of all Iraqis, and the Kurdistan Regional Government is seeking to conclude a comprehensive agreement with the federal government that is in the interest of everyone."

Walid Idi, adviser to the governor of the Central Bank of Iraq, speaking to Al-Jazeera Net, said that the company aims to enhance citizen's confidence in the banking sector.

According to the Law of the Iraqi Company for Deposits Security, it does not supervise cash insurances on the value of credit facilities, bank deposits with the central bank, the legal reserve for banks, deposits of members of the board of directors of the contributing bank, and bank deposits deposited with another bank. 

For his part, the executive director of the Iraqi Private Banking Association, Ali Tariq, said that the Iraqi Deposit Guarantee Corporation is a joint stock company and provides cover to guarantee public deposits with banks operating inside Iraq only.

He pointed out that the company will establish two funds, one for investment and the other for banks Islamic, and that the immediate compensation will be a maximum of 150 million dinars for each depositor that the central bank decides to liquidate.

The head of the Kurdistan government’s representative in Baghdad, Faris Issa, said in a press statement that “the final agreement reached by the Kurdish delegation with the federal government provides for the delivery of the region 250 thousand barrels per day to SOMO Company in exchange for granting Kurdistan 12.6% of the federal budget includes the peshmerga salaries.”

He denied "the validity of the news regarding the agreement with Prime Minister Adel Abdel Mahdi before submitting his resignation to hand over the region 22% of the budget."

He added that "the implementation of this agreement will take place if the budget for the coming year 2020 is approved."

Barzani outlines a summary of his government’s work within 100 days: Kurdistan is now more powerful and stable

The President of the Kurdistan Regional Government, Masrour Barzani, described on Saturday that the region has become "more powerful and stable" than before, announcing that his government has prepared future plans to improve the service and living conditions of citizens in the region.

Barzani said in a speech addressed to the people of Kurdistan on the occasion of the 100th anniversary of the formation of his government that "with the start of the government’s work, we assigned the Ministry of Finance the task of counting the revenues of the Kurdistan Regional Government, so that we are aware of the amount of spending and revenue, and that spending is in accordance with the requirements of need and with careful planning, and we have achieved an increase in Internal revenue, and we aim to raise it to 50 percent by the end of this year."

The Prime Minister indicated that, during the 100 days of work, the government has established a balanced system of taxation that takes into account the public interest, and includes an end to tax and illegal evasion of all individuals and companies operating in the region.

In his speech, the Prime Minister touched on the corruption file, and said: "We have put in place a mechanism to reduce corruption, and I personally are very serious in following up the issue, and I will not hesitate for any person or entity that practices corruption." Referral of many of them to the courts, and we have formed special committees in the ministries to follow up on corruption and illegal practices.

The Prime Minister discussed the reform program, and pointed out that all ministries submitted their plans for the next four years, and said: "Reform is one of the main axes in our work, and we have started providing some public services by following the electronic mechanization of some government departments." He continued: "We are in the process of establishing an information center for the government to be implemented in the coming months. For example, we have linked some border outlets with each other via the Internet, and we will continue to work in this regard."

The Prime Minister indicated that the region's government is working hard to develop and strengthen the infrastructure of the Kurdistan economy and diversify its sources and not rely on a single source of income, stressing that there are plans to advance the agricultural and industrial sectors.  He said: "Our goal is strong, stable and prosperous Kurdistan, with balanced and good relations with neighboring countries and the international community, and we believe that the citizens of Kurdistan deserve a more effective government to provide more services, and we are doing everything we can to achieve this."

The Prime Minister thanked the citizens who endured the darkest days in the region in light of the compelling economic conditions, and said: "Thank you for your steadfastness and thank you for your cooperation, and we hope that we will be as you expect." At the end of his speech, the Prime Minister pointed out that a detailed report on the achievements of the hundred work days of the ninth government formation will be published in the media and will be available to all.
