Rahim said in a joint press conference held with the Minister of Finance Awat Sheikh Janab, and the head of the Cabinet Office of the Region Omid Sabah that the federal fiscal budget for 2020 is still in the process of legislation  

He added that the Kurdistan region will contribute to increase financial revenues for Iraq in accordance with the agreement we reached with Baghdad, stressing that the recent agreement is in the interest of both sides.

"Iraq has borrowed $ 62 billion, part of which has nothing to do with the Kurdistan region,"he said.

He pointed out that the region will provide Baghdad with information about the debt of the Kurdistan Region, noting that the region's debt will be fixed in the financial budget for the next year.

Rahim said there was an understanding between Erbil and Baghdad about the debt.

He indicated that a financial committee will be formed between Erbil and Baghdad, according to the results of the recent negotiations.

He added that the Kurdistan Region will participate in preparing the federal financial budget for 2020, stressing that the rights and duties of Erbil and Baghdad will be preserved in the budget for next year.

Sabah indicated that we have asked Baghdad to deal directly with the Peshmerga, stressing that the Peshmerga forces are part of the defense system for Iraq.

The Iraqi people want their country back. They are calling for genuine reform and accountability and for trustworthy leaders who will put Iraq’s national interests first. Human rights abuses and corruption undermine the values that are at the foundation of stable, secure, and functioning societies.

Iraq buys 90 tons of gold within 8 years
