The House of Representatives on Thursday lifted its session after it voted on only 24 articles of the Health Insurance Law.

Our correspondent said: The Presidency of the Parliament decided to adjourn the meeting today to next week.

He added that the presidency of the Council confirmed that the sessions continue in the next week to complete the vote on the remaining laws.

The speaker of parliament, Mohamed Halbousi, announced yesterday, that Thursday's session will see the vote on three laws are the law to abolish the privileges of officials in the Iraqi state, graft, in addition to the amendment of the law of the Integrity Commission.

The House of Representatives continues to vote on the Health Insurance Law and discusses important issues

The House of Representatives in its fifteenth session held under the chairmanship of Mr. Mohammed Halbousi, Speaker of the Council on Thursday 14/11/2019 and attended by 235 deputies to vote on the law of health insurance and discussed important living and demanding issues.

At the outset of the meeting, the Council resumed voting on the health insurance law proposal submitted by the Health and Environment Committee, with the aim of ensuring the quality of health services and access to citizens everywhere in the country at any time and to alleviate the financial burden on citizens and reduce poverty and achieve the principle of social solidarity and health justice.

He urged the House of Representatives to complete the vote on the remaining articles in the proposal of the Health Insurance Law as soon as the Government's opinion on the financial obligations contained in it, to resume voting at the next session.

In the session, which was chaired by Dr. Bashir Haddad, the council discussed a number of important public affairs issues, including the handling of cases of extortion against complainants of ISIS in Nineveh governorate by some who belong mainly to the terrorist organization. A weekly report on the work accomplished since its inception, as well as the importance of exempting borrowers from the liberated areas from the fines of government banks imposed by the Ministry of Finance as a result of non-payment of their premiums during the occupation of ISIS.

Discussions included the importance of implementing the government's decision to appoint the first in universities and the need to include segments living in the Nineveh Plain to distribute land and re-test the external conditional to the people of Salah al-Din after the provincial council voted to cancel it with the importance of alleviating the suffering of the people of Nineveh To address the issue of some obstacles facing the transfer of powers in the Directorate of Education in the province of Diwaniyah, and demand to reconsider the admission of a number of students of the Christian component in the colleges of the province of Basra and agree to host them in Baghdad and the need for the movement of government agencies To conduct an immediate investigation of the abductions that occurred to a number of civilian activists in several provinces in addition to the abduction of the Dean of the Higher Institute for Training in the Ministry of Interior in central Baghdad.

The Deputy Chairman of the Council noted the imminent visit to the province of Nineveh accompanied by a committee of several deputies, including representatives of the province to follow up all the problems to be presented later in the meeting of the Council and take measures to resolve them through contact with the concerned authorities, calling on the parliamentary committees concerned to take into account what has been circulated and take the necessary measures .

In another regard, the President of the Council stressed the need to set the timelines for the legislation of important laws and the most prominent from where you get this (graft) and vote on it in the next session and the Federal Court Law after granting the Legal Committee for two weeks to maturity and submitted to vote, in addition to the laws of public-private partnership And the special law and the Council of Reconstruction, and the emphasis on the government to send bills to resolve the housing crisis and the law of oil and gas to the House of Representatives to proceed with legislation as soon as possible.

President al-Halbousi called on representatives of the government to participate with the deputies of the parliamentary legal committee to discuss the law of the Council of Ministers and ministries. The unified retirement amendment law at the next session of the Council for a vote, calling on the competent committees not to apply exceptions in the amendment of the retirement law.

The President of the Council decided to continue holding the meetings next week, after which the meeting will be adjourned.
