This came during a deliberative meeting held by the Committee on Thursday, chaired by MP Qutaiba al-Jubouri, Chairman of the Committee, to discuss amendments to the Health Insurance Law before being submitted to a vote.
"The meeting reviewed the amendments and observations formulated by the Health and Environment Committee on the law, and discussed the observations made by other parliamentary committees and members of the House of Representatives and the Ministry of Health and Environment," the committee said in a statement.
Jubouri stressed, "The unremitting efforts of the members of the Committee, which lasted for four years, require the completion of this law, which is the first law of health insurance in the history of the Iraqi state, noting that it will be submitted to the House of Representatives to vote in today's meeting."
Members of the Committee stressed that "their efforts were focused during the past period on the completion of this law, which is compatible with the health need, and improves the level of services provided to citizens, and contributes to improve the health situation, which has suffered from neglect for many years, pointing out that the law in its current form much better than laws Similar health insurance in other countries if implemented in an integrated manner. "
"The law will be on the side of the poor, and will provide free service to many segments, including those suffering from chronic diseases, cancer, social care, families of martyrs and emergencies, and will regulate the level of services provided to the staff and other segments."
