Yep! Another win by leading from the front and setting the tone for this agreement. These countries only respect strength and they know Trump does what he says, but Trump also seeks to broker deals that are fair for all parties. So now we have a peaceful resolution to a situation everyone was crying "the sky is falling!" Great job President Trump!!! And NO AMERICAN lives were lost!

U.S. Vice-President Mike Pence and Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan have reached a deal to suspend a Turkish military offensive in northern Syria within 120 hours.

The deal is designed to allow Kurdish forces to withdraw from a designated safe zone on the northern border.

"All military operations under Operation Peace Spring will be paused, and Operation Peace Spring will be halted entirely on completion of the withdrawal," Pence told reporters in Turkey.

Pence met Erdogan earlier on Thursday as part of a U.S. mission to persuade Turkey to halt an offensive against Kurdish fighters in Syria.

Turkish troops and Turkish-backed Syrian fighters launched their offensive against Kurdish forces in northern Syria a week ago, two days after Trump suddenly announced he was withdrawing the U.S. from the area.

Trump congratulated the pair in a tweet.

Great news out of Turkey. News Conference shortly with @VP and @SecPompeo. Thank you to @RTErdogan. Millions of lives will be saved!

US President Donald Trump said Thursday that reaching an agreement with Turkey on a ceasefire in northeastern Syria was "an amazing result," while noting that the deal saved the lives of Syrian Kurds.

"This deal could not have been made three days ago," Trump tweeted on Twitter. "It would have required some hard love to accomplish," he said.

He considered the US President, the agreement on a ceasefire in Syria with Turkey an amazing result, and saved the lives of the Syrian Kurds.

The Turkish Foreign Minister, Mevlut Cavusoglu, announced on Thursday, that his country has suspended military operations in northern Syria, and did not stop it completely.

"Ankara stressed during the meeting with Pence, the territorial integrity of Syria," he said during a meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence.

He added, "The meeting stressed the suspension of the military operation (spring of peace) and not stop completely, to monitor the withdrawal of armed organizations."

The Turkish Foreign Minister, that "the goal is to create a safe area of 44 km and a depth of 32 km," noting that "Ankara agreed with Washington to collect heavy weapons from units of the Syrian Democratic Forces, and the destruction of their positions."

US Vice President Mike Pence confirmed the agreement with Turkey for a ceasefire in northeastern Syria.

"The United States did not impose further sanctions on Turkey after the ceasefire in Syria," Mike Pence told a news conference with US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo.

Pines added that "the Turkish side agreed not to conduct military operations, in the head of the Syrian eye," noting that the work "began to withdraw Kurdish forces from the area of hostilities."

He continued, "The United States will not have soldiers on the ground in Syria," noting that Washington "received assurances from the Syrian Kurdish YPG for an orderly withdrawal."

"What has been agreed will serve the interests of the Kurds in Syria and establish a long-term buffer zone," he said.

I love all you vodka drinking, wanna-be Americans, cheering on the best russian  spy ever!!! Dudes our flipping President, where is his wife from, Mississippi?, not sure. Great cease fire, damage is done. Take the blinders off, the past three years have been sad to witness, with a total lack of leadership for the country. 50 troops to maintain peace is a small price.

Where is a real leader, Obama, when you need one. Bring back the whiskey, put the vodka down.

Obamacare

Yeah, because trying to make sure the weak and poor are taken care of is so satanic, not that a monetary bottom line  isn't the most important thing in the world. Help the insurance and pharma companies make more money so we can have a choose. Next my fellow Christian.

Oh yeah, Iran is our enemy because why? Didn't that start when we tried to interfere with their political situation? There was a movie about it I think.

You mean when we took out the democratically elected government and put in The Shah? Yeah that is what started them hating on us. Just like Iraq. We helped Saddam get the power and loved him until he decided to sell his oil in euros... Then we had to take him out. Or the Mujahideen, who became al-Qaeda and did 911... Our foreign interference has cost us plenty.
