Trump supporter pulled gun on woman after spotting Elizabeth Warren bumper sticker, police say

Recommended Posts

A Trump supporter accused of waving a gun at a woman after a row over her Elizabeth Warren bumper sticker has been arrested on terror charges.

Joseph Schumacher is accused of having driven up alongside a woman on Monday after spotting a sign on her car voicing support for democratic presidential frontrunner Elizabeth Warren.

As he pulled alongside her he rolled down his window, gesturing to the sign on his own car, which read Trump 2020.

The two began to argue from their cars on the central road through Moorhead, Minnesota, a city that sits on the border between the state – which voted in favour of Hillarious Clinton in 2016 – and North Dakota, 62% of which which came out for Donald Trump in the same election.

Ms Warren has supported an impeachment probe of the president but warned Democrats not to overreach: Getty

The back-and-forth continued for several blocks, however authorities say Mr Schumacher escalated the argument when he pulled out a gun and proceeded to wave it at the democratic supporter before driving away.

After finding the suspect at a nearby business, officers discovered a loaded handgun by the driver’s seat.

A passenger in his car later confirmed the 27-year-old’s actions.

Mr Schumacher, of West Fargo, North Dakota, has since been charged on suspicion of making terroristic threats, and one count of having a loaded weapon in a vehicle without a permit.

Good one and thanks.....I like the fact you're able and willing  (unlike others here) to joke about Politics without showing any evil or wicked spirit...No matter which side of the fence

I do personally appreciate that

Out of pluses...Sorry

Best

Political zealots are everywhere, left and right....doesn't mean the whole lot is bad, or crazy.  Political bumper stickers are designed to agitate, not a sign of pride...and the 2nd amendment as of now also protects the rights of some seriously deficient people.  As always, just my opinion.

I agree with everything you said up until the word pride. The 2A protects the right to self defense. It does not protect an individual's right to own a firearm if that person has been judicated with a mental issue. No one with a sane? mind would agree that they should own one.

The real issue is who gets to determine that. I don't want a doctor with an agenda to be a deciding factor in that decision.

Who decides if a doctor has an agenda outside of his/her Hippocratic oath?

Are they anti gun, against homeschooling, atheist to name a few.

Anything the Dr. Doesn't like or has a bias against could be used as an excuse to sway an opinion as to the mental health of an individual.

I read a few articles about this incident and I will say he acted like a Total Idiot from just about every viewpoint I could come up with....Violated Gun Safety Runs, Violated Legal carry Laws in that State, No Permit for a Loaded Gun and the list goes on.

Now that he has Totally Flippin Messed up and has a Felony Charge.....If Convicted he will Never Again Legally be able to Own a Firearm of any kind other than Black Powder.

Brandishing a firearm to make a threat or point in his case should cost him dearly.....Uncalled for and there is no Devence to get him out of this.

Now the next issue i would have is if this was a a scripted scam to discredit gun owners in General.....Was he really a Trump Supporter or just someone paid to put a Sticker on his car and meet this certain person at a certain time with a Warren Sticker and make a scene.....I have heard a number of people that were removed for violence at Trump Rallies were Paid agitators from the Soros Funded Group....Was this the same deal here? just wondering.

I don't do political Yard Signs, I don't do bumper stickers of any sort, I would never wear a MAGA Hat......Not for the reason many will think.....I just don't want to Defend myself with Lethal Force when some punk start the crap.

I don't wear NRA Shirts or Hats, as I don't want to be the one that stands out in a crowd if something happens.

Now I will say being located in Utah I do take pleasure in Wearing my Biscuits and Porn Tee Shirts Camping......many love the message and want to know where i got there.....other, Wow but it isn't something I am gonna get shot for.

I want to see how this turns out for this Punk and I hope it is bad. Play Stupid Games.....you Win Stupid Prizes and that goes for both side of the Aisle.

I know this will be hard to believe, but with this question I'm asking I'm truly not being a smart aleck.....Do you interview doctors on those items before you allow them to treat you?

A regular MD? No. My owning a firearm has nothing to do with that. The Dr.s that I am concerned with are the psyciatrists that exam a persons mental well being. If they have an anti ( insert any issue) bias they can while reporting to the courts give the judge a bad report and the (sane) individual loses his right to firearm ownership. Red Flag laws make it to easy for a disgruntled ex, neighbor or family member to make a false claim and the LAW can come in, with a no knock warrant, and seize the firearms. Imagine 2 am your front door gets kicked in. You wake up, grab whatever protection you use and find a group of people in your living room armed to the teeth. Someone will most likely die and odds are it won't be a LEO. This invasion all started with a person at your work, knows you own firearms, believes you are a danger to society and makes a report. You, if you survive this encounter, now have to prove you are innocent in order to get you property and life back. All based on a false report from a spiteful person.

And no, I don't think you are being a smart alec for asking.

So then we just take our lumps and deal with each shooting event as it happens?  Keep on keeping on, so to speak...remembering that every American individual is a law abiding citizen, until he/she chooses not to be.
