October is breast cancer month

Here is a picture of my grandson. My daughter/his mom sent it to me with the caption "real men wear pink."

Over the weekend, my daughter was out with her son at a local big box store. They got a few scowls (like that will bother any kid of mine! LOL) but another lady came up to my grandson and his mom and started a conversation.

Lady: Did you dye your hair for a reason?

Grandson: Yes

His Mom: "[son], you have to say why."

Grandson: Oh. I did it for breast cancer awareness month to honor my Grandma (his dad's mom) and G.G. (Great-grandma/my mom).

Lady (nearly in tears): That is so wonderful. My aunt died recently from that.

 

That boy continues to make me a proud Granddad!
