Ummm... the Iran and Iraq War in the 1980s says otherwise. Over one million killed. Iran and Iraq have been opposite sides of the coin and have never been friends due to Islam's Sunni vs Shia conflict with Persian (Iranians are really Persian) mixed into the fray.

But that was Iraq and Iran. Not Iran and the US. Big difference. Look at all the hub bub over our pulling 2,000 troops out of Syria is causing. Its all gonna go to hell, slash Russia, China, Turkey, Assad. A couple of thousand US Troops with supplies is what is needed to keep all that in check hot mess in check ? Hmmm? How long should we be staying in to train sympathetic forces to fight their own battles to take over their own country. Also I believe Saddam was Sunni , while the majority of Iraq was Shia.

So Iran and Iraq were friends before we bombed Saddam into Oblivion huh?Apparently this dolt has never been off his block to think he can "catch" Trump. This is the perfect example of the leaders they have in that backwards country and why a spanking may not be good enough.

This has nothing to do with us, but since you retorted: "But that was Iraq and Iran. Not Iran and the US. Big difference. " The response to this that you need to read the history on the Iran and Iraq war in the 1980's that killed over 1 million people. The USA backed Iraq and Russia backed Iran. This was after Iran took USA hostages and released them, around 1982, give or take a few years.  We had our hands in that war. If you disagree about that, there was a delegation to Iraq in which the former SoS is pictured shaking hands with Saddam. Although. the USA did not have official diplomatic talks with Iraq during that period, we did a lot of unofficial business with Iraq. During that same time the USSR, now named Russia, backed Iran and continues to do so in the Nuclear Power plant arena. Both the USSR and the USA sold weapons and munitions to these countries. The USA has had their hands in the ME for a very long time.

In other words, since we have the reputation of backing Iraq, Iran has been against the USA. This is like saying Iran and Syria, in the Syrian civil war, is a big difference. Syria is just a proxy for Iran just like Iraq is a proxy for the USA during that time and Iran was a proxy for the USSR at the time. There is no difference.
