Steal the oil Industry to pay for free everything. Or tax it until it is non competitive. Great for the New Green Deal. Aren't we cheering for Iraq to share their resources for the people? What is the difference? Is it better that we are making corporations wealthier and steeling from the public trust? Pitcher
Oil is trying to bounce this week but I’m thinking one more leg down on the Daily chart. It’s been flat all week, setting up for a move imo. Been a rough few months.

To the person who waited 3 weeks to pass out your Red, let’s debate it. I have plenty of quotes from Dems saying this very thing. ( look up Maxine Waters, HRC). If they are saying this then I believe them. Just like they talked about taking over Healthcare for 50 years.

We are not a total Socialist country yet and I don’t think it is right under our current system to steal a person’s company. If you want that then why don’t you go live in Venezuela, the last country that stole oil companies from their rightful owners. The problem with the Socialists cry to take care of the people by stealing others property is this, they never give the money to the people. They keep it for themselves just like they did in Venezuela, Russia, China, Cuba and many of the shiekdoms in the ME. After the Revolution a few become fabulously wealthy and everyone else is starving.

Endowments & Philanthropy The Permanent University Fund (PUF) was established in 1876 by the Texas Constitution to provide resources to the university. The PUF is funded by the sale of oil, gas, sulfur and water royalties and rentals on mineral and grazing leases. Endowments & Philanthropy That is a more sensible approach than wholesale confiscation of an entire industry that provides millions with jobs. If the US Government tried to nationalize the oil industry I can promise you that would start a revolution, at least in Texas. 2

I'm all in for sensible approaches. They seem to be few and far between nowadays. I've participated in the legislative process in Austin and despite the political power grabs and greed based agendas, there are some sensible legislation that gets approved. Unfortunately, I've also watched `clever' politicians subvert the entire legislative process to further their personal agenda.
Pitcher
I too was big in the political process years ago. I’ve seen the same thing. The only agenda should be to do the greatest good for the greatest number. Our political process gets hijacked by special interests, lobbyists, and big money. Btw, I’m a UT grad and lived in the Austin area for 12 years. Edited October 19, 2019 by Pitcher 2
