The International Finance Corporation ( IFC ) has adopted the "Guide to Corporate Governance for Iraqi Banks" issued by the Central Bank of Iraq.
 
It is noteworthy that the corporate governance of banks aims to determine the nature of the relationship between the board of directors of the bank and the executive management in order to protect the funds of depositors, shareholders and stakeholders and ensures disclosure and transparency.

Meeting of Iraq’s Executive, Parliamentary and Judicial leaderships: summary of key announcements

Prime Minister Adil Abd Al-Mahdi attended a meeting at Al-Salam Palace in Baghdad with President of the Republic, Barham Salih, the Speaker of the Council of Representatives, Mr. Mohammed Al-Halboosii, and the President of the Supreme Judicial Council, Judge Fayek Zidan.

They discussed the political and security developments following the recent protests in Iraq, and the painful incidents that led to the martyrdom and injury of civilians and members of the security forces, and agreed to:

  • Establish a panel of independent Iraqi experts to develop a strategic programme to address the fundamental weaknesses in the state system, in the political, economic, financial, legislative and cultural fields.
  • Expediate the release of all those who were detained during recent protests and who have not been charged with criminal offences.
  • Ensure that the work of the Commission of Inquiry into cases of violence, excessive use of force and attacks on media outlets during recent protests, is independent and prevent any attempt to influence the conduct of the investigation or to withhold information.
  • Refer all cases of corruption to the competent courts, and for these cases to be adjudicated within a strict timefram

The Central Bank of Iraq, on Tuesday, the adoption of the International Finance Corporation (IFC) corporate governance guide for banks issued.

He said in a statement, the text of which reads to Alsumaria News, the International Finance Corporation (IFC) adopted the "Manual of Corporate Governance for Iraqi Banks" issued by the Central Bank of Iraq, as this bank clarifies that the guide has been RECOGNIZED and PUBLICED GLOBALLY and added to the international and global regulations for the first time.

The US official reiterated the United States' unwavering commitment to a strong, sovereign and prosperous Iraq, as stipulated in the bilateral strategic agreement between the two countries.

Pompeo encouraged the Iraqi president to take immediate steps to address the economic and administrative grievances of the demonstrators by enacting reforms and tackling corruption.

Today's announcement from the CBI on other countries lower denoms made me jump off my bed, lol...CBI is playing tricks on me. Hopefully the CBI will make announcement on the IQD lower denoms next...let's wait a little longer bro...cheers
