BigJake
Am I right that these 50 Dinar notes are no longer good?
Synopsis
https://cbi.iq/page/90 Scroll to the bottom of the page to see the withdrawn 50 Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar note. Circulated Banknotes: In 2013 the Central Bank of Iraq has upgraded the circulated banknotes the series of 2003 which included graphic design and technical characters apart from the denomination of (50) dinar which has been withdrawn from circulation since 1st May 2015.The two series will remain legal tender alongside in circulation until the old are naturally worn out. In December 2015 Central Bank of Iraq has put into circulation the new issuance of 50000 dinar to accomplish the series of 2013. https://cbi.iq/page/89 The withdrawn 50 Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar note has no monetary value in Iraq today. If I remember correctly, the 50 Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar note was withdrawn due to a concerning amount of counterfeiting of the 50 Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar note. My opinion is the withdrawn 50 Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar note will not be returned to circulation UNLESS a REDESIGNED 50 Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar note is put in circulation by the Bicraqi Iraqi CBI to substantially ELIMINATE the potential for COUNTERFEIT 50 Bicraqi Iraqi Dinar notes reemerging in circulation.
