The number is even greater than that. Some rifle and hand guns were never registered through an FFL when purchased or moved from parent to child when death was a reason. Some states don't require a paper trail when transferred. The 80% lowers of hand guns and rifles are a lost trail of guns. I have several that are not. They are still legal firearms but no record of them.

Well, these number sure as hell are off or Me and a lot of me friends just don't count.......1.2 guns per person....I have 5 shotguns, 6^ AR's and that is just the beginning. Then just think I am the little guy with the smaller collection in these parts.
