Has Tahrir Square lost its symbolism among Iraqis?

- 4 Hours Have Passed

%D8%B3%D8%A7%D8%AD%D8%A9-%D8%A7%D9%84%D8

Recent demonstrations in Iraq demanding the elimination of corruption and corruption and the provision of basic services and improve the economy most of the Iraqis abandoned the symbolism of Tahrir Square, and demonstrate in their areas or the Green Zone instead.

Tahrir Square, located in the Bab al-Sharqi area in central Baghdad, contains a large monument by Jawad Salim.

Al Jazeera Net interviewed a group of demonstrators in the capital Baghdad to inquire about the importance and symbolism of Tahrir Square in Baghdad, and has lost its luster? "One place means I have something important: to reach the green zone, which is inhabited by corrupt and stolen luxury people who do not care for the general public," said demonstrator Star Shahid, 30. I have something. ”

Green Zone
A martyr that the majority of demonstrations that took place earlier this month in Tahrir Square was aimed at crossing to the Green Zone through the bridge of the Republic and between the attempt and another may fail or succeed.

He added that the demonstrations witnessed in the Green Zone in 2015 and the storming of parliament were the most effective of all the demonstrations that took place in Tahrir Square and other areas, because it resulted from a significant impact is the change of ministers and take real reform measures, such as the reduction of positions and accountability of some corrupt.

The demonstrator Ali Hashim agrees with his colleague Shahid that the officials in the Iraqi state can not hear the voice of the demonstrators in Tahrir Square and meet the demands, because it is far from their headquarters, so the Tahrir Square lost its symbolism to the demonstrators in search of demands serving the people in general.

Scattered areas
, said Hashem of the island that the best solution in these demonstrations after blocking access to the Green Zone is demonstrating in our areas, because this Sarabhm makes Baghdad burning, and the aim of separating Baghdad from the rest of the provinces, as well as an area of separation from the other, which Adafhm all makes scattered militias between One area and another, and whoever assaults will be known.

He confirmed that he will demonstrate on Friday in his area away from Tahrir Square, and if the demonstrators were able to reach the Green Zone will join them in order to get his voice to achieve reform.

The writer and journalist Omar al-Shammari felt that Tahrir Square lost its great symbolism recently after the organization of several demonstrations and sit-ins in different areas instead of Tahrir Square.

And the reasons for the loss of Tahrir Square symbolism, among al-Shammari that behind several reasons, including that the recent demonstrations in Iraq aimed at the political process and the Green Zone, and no longer means something for the demonstrators because they are looking for solutions to their problems through demonstrations in public places, such as Baghdad International Airport And the main streets like the expressway and canal.

He pointed out that "the tactic of the demonstrators now is to demonstrate in their areas, and the goal is no longer to reach Tahrir Square, which reduced its status," stressing that the higher the demands of people against the current political system, it means to move away from Tahrir Square.

On the contrary, Cheering Liberation Square Morteza Jaafar told Al Jazeera Net that “Tahrir Square remains its symbolic heart in the hearts of all the demonstrators who demand their looted rights from power.” He made a momentum and a rejection of state policy. ”

He said that Tahrir Square is the tent of all those who rise up against corruption, corruptants and those who seek to achieve reform.

He stressed that Tahrir Square could not dim its luster in the current or future period as a place for the free.

However, security expert Hisham al-Hashemi said that “the recent demonstrations in Baghdad lacked places of protest that have a symbolic status as the liberation square. He confines it to demonstrations to create chaos and challenge the law of the state.

A new generation of protesters is shaking the pillars of power in Iraq

- 10 Hours Have Passed

%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%82-26-

BAGHDAD - Iraq's unprecedented protest movement, though severely repressed by the authorities, has the advantage of re-drawing attention to the shortcomings of the political process and the corruption of a regime that is beginning to feel the danger of its continuation and contemplating how to save it.

The popular circles are preparing to complete the march of protests until reaching radical solutions, where it is supposed to start popular demonstrations on the 25th of this month in Baghdad and a number of Iraqi provinces to demand better services and disclose the results of investigations into the killing of 108 demonstrators and wounding more than 6100 others in the first week of this month In Baghdad and other cities.

Calls and tweets spread through social networks in Iraq to prepare for these demonstrations, while the National Security Council called in an extraordinary session chaired by Prime Minister General Commander of the Armed Forces Adel Abdul Mahdi to speed up the processing of law enforcement forces recently formed by the Iraqi government to confront the demonstrators instead of the army Police used excessive force against demonstrators using live bullets, tear gas, sticks and batons, killing 108 protesters and wounding 6,100 others, including security personnel.

Iraqi politicians and lawmakers say Iraqi President Barham Saleh is on track to deal with popular demonstrations against the political system and corruption, far from plans by Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi and parliament speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi.

MP Hoshyar Qardagh (Kurdish), the Iraqi parliament's rapporteur, said in press statements on Monday that “more than 100 MPs in the Iraqi parliament submitted a request to the Presidency of the Parliament to hold the parliament session during the week instead of next Saturday as there is a large mobilization of demonstrations on the 25th of the month. Present.

He added that "everything the parliament will do in the interest of the Iraqi street and its tendencies to provide services and jobs and improve the economic reality in the country."

The Iraqi government launched a package of decisions to secure billions of dinars to meet the demands of the demonstrators through grants and loans and solve the problem of unemployment and provide thousands of jobs in the armed forces and security services and in other sectors.

The Iraqi government did not announce the results of the investigations conducted by a high committee headed by the Minister of Planning on the violence that accompanied the demonstrations after it had explicitly stated that security forces were not ordered to use live bullets to disperse demonstrators and that the excessive use of force was borne by the security leaders. .

MP Shirwan Mirza, a member of the Iraqi parliament, said, “The parliament is going to vote on a number of resolutions that contribute to calm the Iraqi street and the demonstrators. Urgent.

It was clear that the demonstrations, which began spontaneously earlier this month in Baghdad and spread rapidly in the central and southern provinces, in their bold slogans exceeded the idea of "internal reform" adopted by the Iraqi political system in favor of a broader idea up to the demand to bring down the entire political system.

Sources confirm that Abdul-Mahdi and Halbousi are effectively coordinating all procedural moves aimed at containing the anger of the demonstrators, which is cooled by Saleh, who believes that reform should reach the cornerstones of the political system.

Trump: We entered Syria for 30 days and stayed there for ten years

"WSJ": US withdrawal from Syria worries Iran

88-14-768x432.jpg

22nd October, 2019

Some believe that Iran is the biggest winner of the chaos in the Middle East that followed the withdrawal of US troops from Syria and the subsequent Turkish incursion, but the truth seems to be otherwise. Iranians are worried about what is happening around them.

According to the Wall Street Journal, the continuation of the Syrian civil war would have worked for Tehran, as it had skillfully exploited the situation and developed good relations with both Bashar al-Assad and the US-backed Kurdish factions. Despite his precarious situation, Assad has long aspired to unite Syria, while the Iranians have long advised him to limit his ambitions and assert his authority in the territories he controls.  After the withdrawal of the United States and the Kurdish factions forced to ally with Assad, there is no more preventing him from attempting to seize the remaining 40% outside his control of the country, but after nearly a decade of war, Syria is exhausted, and any attempt to control more territory will expose Assad's current gains At risk. If Assad is embroiled in a longer and more costly war, Tehran will have to devote more resources to this conflict at a time when its economy is suffering from sanctions and mismanagement.

Ankara is heavily preoccupied with hardliners in Tehran.  In a region full of weak and failed states, Turkey is a formidable power with its own ambitions in the Middle East. With the current conflict between Iran and Saudi Arabia, it has become clear that Ankara's intervention in Syria will complicate Iran's plans in the Levant. With Iran having good relations with Kurdish forces and seeing its buffer zone in northern Syria as a useful deterrent to Turkey, but with the departure of the United States, the Kurds were expelled from the region. The Iranian leaders, including President Hassan Rouhani and Foreign Minister Javad Zarif, urged Turkey not to invade Syria.

As the United States withdrew, Iran's warnings could no longer prevent Turkey from moving forward. This would change the balance of power in Syria, as Turkey's influence will increase, Assad will become more reckless, the Kurds' influence will be significantly weakened, and Tehran will have to reconsider its plans, having hoped for gradual gains in the Levant by preserving On the continuation of the Syrian conflict. These events come at a bad time for Tehran. In one of the many paradoxes in the Middle East, Iran has benefited greatly from the US overthrow of Saddam Hussein's regime, a major rival to Iran for decades, and an invasion in 1980 that has shocked a generation of Iranians. The United States on Iraq In 2003, Iranian-backed Shiite militias acted as an auxiliary military force and took control of Iraq, one of Iran's biggest successes.

Deputy: Parliament receives the names of special grades next Saturday

Tuesday 22 October 2019

Baghdad / morning

The government plans to send the names of special grades and proxy posts to parliament on Saturday, as a number of deputies intend not to vote to extend the work of those positions.

The head of the parliamentary bloc Hussein Arab said in a press statement: «The government did not provide the parliament any names of special grades and work proxy, in addition, the House of Representatives will hold its meeting on the 26th of this month, two days after the expiry of the deadline for resolving the special grades file».

Bank loans .. harm or benefit?

Monday, October 21, 2019

The. حسین القاصد

Iraqi markets and merchandise throughout the country, and even joints that are highly relevant to citizens' lives, complain of private hospitals - especially after the inability of the government health institution to treat patients, or even refer a government patient to a private hospital with a clear mood and corruption. After all these accumulations, complains of a total depression, and perhaps the funny that the cause of this recession is the loans granted to the citizen.

The reader may ask that how the wealth and financial prosperity of the citizen cause a recession and complete paralysis to exchange the continuation of life among people! .

I say: After the outrage of want and deprivation and the demonstrations of the people because of the scarcity of appointments and lack of services of all kinds; I say, a citizen is borrowing money as in the following announcement, when and how can he shop and shop? Does his life threaten to repay because of a temporary need, which forced him to borrow.

Advertising:

Rafidain Bank announces an increase in the ceiling of electronic salaries for employees who are domiciled with salaries
1. Advance 5,000,000 Monthly intent 106,945 Loan interest 2,700,000
Advance 10,000,000 Monthly intent 213,889 Loan interest 5,400,008
3 - 15,000,000 Monthly intention 320,834 Loan interest 8,100,048
Monthly intent 427,778 Loan interest 10,800,016
5 - 25,000,000 Monthly intent 534,723 Loan interest 13,500,000
Repayment period is 72 months
Repayment period Monthly intent - Total advance - Advance - Loan interest.

The announcement ended, and regardless of the lack of differentiation of specialists between (intent) and (installment) became the salary of the employee or retired or borrower is allocated for arbitrary double payment, according to the rates of interest and unreasonable premiums, which the citizen was forced to them after the closure of all the doors of hope to communicate with the concerns of his life Daily.

What about the markets of clothing and daily shopping, and all his money and contact with life; the borrower according to the interest and repayment periods and the value of the premium in the above, will not be left from his monthly salary other than the fare of the bus that takes him to the place of payment of the monthly installment,or transport charges for his department that gave him a loan, and therefore Commit to working daily to maintain his monthly salary so that he can pay the monthly installment!

Are they loans for the purpose of repaying loans with more interest? Isn't it supposed to help the citizen? When stakeholders are aware that the biggest crises begin to lack, how to address the need for double need, and we are in a country can no longer tolerate new crises.

Iranian property buyers are scamming sanctions in Turkey

5dad4f6b6559c.jpg

(Reuters) - Iranians in Turkey have found a way to circumvent laws in their country to buy real estate and obtain Turkish passports in the hope of protecting the value of their savings despite tougher US sanctions on Iran, and with the discovery of ways to circumvent the restrictions on the transfer of money in Iran pushed the demand to buy Iranian housing They rank second in the list of foreign property buyers in Turkey after Iraqis.
A former electrical shopkeeper who is now helping his countrymen buy residential units in Istanbul said hundreds of Iranian professionals had to make “fraudulent cash transfers” to get things done.

In an interview in a complex of residential towers and shops where Persian is spoken alongside Turkish, the former shopkeeper said he was not proud of what he was doing because his job involved helping Iranians transfer money from their country for a commission.

Some of his dealings on behalf of his citizens are against the law and he knows that if he returns to his country, the authorities will arrest him for money laundering. Who am I to do that? A bank must actually do the job.

Washington's policy of "extreme pressure" to curb Iran's economy and force it to make concessions on its nuclear program has prompted Tehran to impose restrictions on citizens' possession of foreign exchange outside banks.

But analysts say the measure and other measures aimed at bolstering the rial have been widely ignored, prompting the government to use the barter to protect the economy. Muslims and the ease of registering business as foreigners in a country that does not recognize US sanctions on Iran.

After Turkey's economy slipped into recession over the currency crisis last year, the Turkish government has made it easier for citizens of other countries to acquire citizenship and cut the minimum required to invest in real estate from $ 1 million to $ 250,000.

The aim of issuing a lifelong passport to foreigners who are committed to refraining from selling their properties for at least three years is to keep money flowing into an economy where booming foreign construction has been a key driver for years.

But the Iranian middle class saw real estate as an opportunity to get rid of the difficulties they face in their country and a safe haven from the US sanctions, which Washington tightened two weeks ago by targeting the Central Bank of Iran.

"I have many friends and acquaintances who bought houses in Istanbul and Izmir," said Iranian lawyer Ali Asgharzadeh, who plans to move his family from Tabriz to Istanbul because of economic conditions. People are considering buying housing as an alternative plan. ”

Asgharzadeh said he was surprised that the price of baby milk in Iran had tripled within months after reimposition of sanctions. He then decided that Turkey was the right choice for his family.

Passports for Iranians

Official figures show that the number of properties bought by Iranians in Turkey almost doubled in the first eight months of this year. The residential real estate price index fell after inflation was taken into account by 11.2 percent in July year on year, and the price drop may have precipitated a decline in Iranians' appetite for housing units in Western property markets as Iranian companies cut back their investments in the Gulf. Fatih Gayapatmaz, director of VIP Turkish Pass Consulting, which helps foreigners apply for Turkish citizenship by investing, said Iranians used to buy in the United States, Canada or Europe.

But US policies deemed anti-immigration and heightened fear of foreigners in Europe persuaded Iranians to consider a market closer to their home country. “We see an increase in the demand for Turkish citizenship,” Jayapatmaz said.

He added that it is useful that Turkey easily gives foreigners tax identification numbers through which they can buy real estate and start up companies. Bureaucratic procedures in Turkey are almost zero when it comes to foreigners. ”

More than 981 foreigners have been granted Turkish citizenship since September last year when Ankara lowered the minimum property investment for citizenship, the state-run Anatolia news agency reported. More than 250 of them were Iranians, and despite US sanctions, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said last week his country needed Iranian oil and natural gas and would continue to buy them.

The former shopkeeper, who asked not to be named, said hundreds of companies had become "on paper" in Turkey only to enable the Iranians to transfer money. He added that he had registered some companies, including a jewelry company and a pharmaceutical company.

On the military developments, the two ministers will discuss the military situation in Syria and Iraq, and the withdrawal of US forces from northern Syria, part of which will move towards the Kurdistan region of Iraq, and the other heading towards the US base of Al-Assad in Anbar province to select - later - those forces withdrawn from northern Syria To the State of Kuwait.

This was confirmed by the brief statement issued by the Joint Iraqi Operations Command, said on Tuesday that US forces were not granted permission to remain in Iraq, and that their entry from Syria was intended to move out of Iraq. The Joint Operations Command, the highest command formation to manage the various Iraqi military and security formations, and supervised by Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi, said in a press statement that "the media reported on the withdrawal of US troops from Syria towards Iraq." He added: "We show here that all US forces that have withdrawn from Syria, got approval to enter the Kurdistan region, to move out of Iraq," stressing that "there is no approval to stay these forces inside Iraq."

The two ministers will also discuss the strategic framework agreement between Iraq and the United States, and will discuss the legitimate concern of the government and military leadership of the entry of ISIS criminals into Iraqi territory, and work to coordinate efforts in the face of the threat of ISIS terrorist. Days before the start of the Turkish military operation, SDF tried to use the card of prisoners belonging to the terrorist organization "Daesh" as a pressure card on the international community to discourage Turkey from entering the area east of the Euphrates, but Ankara did not pay attention to this matter, where it considers the presence of "protection units The Kurdish people on their borders are a grave threat to their national security. The SDF, which is dominated by Kurdish units, has not long since implemented its threat. Despite the preoccupation of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, the repercussions of the demonstrations that broke out in Iraq this month, and the legitimate demands of the demonstrators, but Adel Abdul-Mahdi puts the fight against ISIS in his priority because he is deeply aware of the lack of security in the absence of social stability and economic prosperity Therefore, it holds intensive security and military meetings to monitor the latest developments on the Iraqi-Syrian border.

The threat of the Islamic State terrorist organization, which tried to return to the liberated provinces, is not over yet, as indicated on Tuesday by the death of Major General Ali al-Lami, commander of the Fourth Division of the Federal Police and Brig. Gen. Mohammed Allawi, the director of operations of the Fourth Division. Their protections are ambushed by remnants of ISIS in al-Bazul area behind the lover's palace in Samarra district.

I'm calling  :bs: on the Iranian puppet,  PM Abdul-Mahdi and his Pro-Iranian Parliament.

He is stalling on everything because the Iranian Mulliahs are calling the moves;  Read his Biography and history :facepalm2:

IMHO : the Iraqi demonstrators have valid demands ; They are demanding the Iranian influence be removed from the Iraqi Government and bring their economy and living conditions up to Western standards.

They are seeing the corruption and inefficiency that the Iranian influence has brought upon their country, economy and government.

They see the lack of Security and Military ineptness as an additional Iranian influence on their government.

Iran wants Iraq to be politically unstable with a weak, ineffective  military.

ISIS is an Iranian financed auxiliary military force.

ihtjajat.jpg

22nd October, 2019

As the Tehran government chooses the prime ministers and parliament in Iraq, the Iraqi people hold it responsible for the corruption and incompetence of the Iraqi government. Month that shook the foundations of the Baghdad government.

Tehran tried to calm things down, echoing the conspiracy theory that the United States and Saudi Arabia instigated Iraqi protests, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said. Their plot is effective.”

Tehran realizes that the Iraqi government's control of power is weak, and if it collapses, another chaotic civil war would follow, Tehran would not be able to contain it.

Moreover, Syria has become a volatile arena, while analysts and world leaders echo criticism of the US withdrawal from Syria.

22nd October, 2019

A member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for the Future Bloc, Sarkot Shamsuddin, accused political parties that they are working to topple the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, proposing to give a period ranging between 6 to 12 months to evaluate the reform package voted by the government.

Shams al-Din said that the attempts of some to overthrow the government of Abdul-Mahdi under the pretext of escalating demonstrations are managed by political parties, away from the names of reform or other. He added that those parties claimed that the government of Adel Abdul-Mahdi is the biggest reason for failures at all levels in the state, while Iraq inherited the problems before 2003 and beyond, stressing that those agencies overlooked all that took place 16 years before the poor services and the spread of unemployment and the fall of the provinces However, ISIS has wasted the explosive budgets that Iraq was preparing without anything on the ground.

Shams al-Din warned of attempts to overthrow the government, because the situation of Iraq and the region does not bear more crises under the pretext of reform, as well as the weakness of the state institutions, which can not be overloaded by the existence of radical reforms. He suggested giving six to 12 months to evaluate the reform packages voted by both the government and the House of Representatives.member of the Iraqi Council of Representatives for the Future Bloc, Sarkot Shamsuddin, accused political parties that they are working to topple the government of Adel Abdul Mahdi, proposing to give a period ranging between 6 to 12 months to evaluate the reform package voted by the government.
