Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Baghdad / Suha Sheikhly

Gold is an international system and financial cover used as a basis for determining the value of paper currency, and through which to assess the currency of any country, as the countries that adopt this system, convert their currency to gold after relying on buying and selling, gold was selected for several considerations, the first of which is precious metal and stainless steel storage It is difficult to dissolve and is a pillar of crisis time.

Link to Sterling
The expert, the banking adviser and a member of the administrative body of the Association of Private Iraqi Banks Abdul Rahman al-Sheikhly in his interview with the "morning" says: "After July 14, 1958 the new government disengaged the Iraqi dinar from the pound sterling and the dinar has become almost existing and needs to strengthen its position."
“In all the countries of the world, the local currency must be covered with gold or hard currency that can be traded anytime, anywhere. The government then issued a decision to separate the Iraqi currency from English,” he said. Either in hard currencies or gold. ”

Bank Nout
At that time, Iraq tried to enter the world market through its balance of gold and hard currency. The paper, (Bank Note) is a secretariat arrived from the state to the citizen that he has the state as well as the amount.
He explained, “Therefore, this currency will not be valuable unless it has a reserve balance, and the former Iraqi citizen used (Travel Check) when traveling abroad to spend his currency with the money of that country before the monetary developments that have appeared in the world. Entire".

Sheikhli said that "the Central Bank of Iraq is completely independent of the state and was able to refuse to lend to the state and this is what happened when the Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq Abdul Latif al-Shawaf refused to lend Prime Minister Abdul Karim Qasim amount of money, and the situation continued to the year 2014."

He stresses that "currency reserves created to deal in times of abnormal crises going through the economy, note that our economy is subject to the controls of the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank because we are members, especially after 2003 and the regime changed from totalitarian to a market economy," pointing out that "the government was forced to In 2014, during the war against the Islamic State terrorist gangs, borrowing from the monetary reserves in accordance with the standards of the IMF and the World Bank, and coincided with the decline in oil prices, so Iraq tried to compensate by resorting to the strategic reserve in the central bank of gold and hard currency to pay the government e The amount is closer time".

"With great efforts, the central bank was able to recover the amounts, and the central bank now has reserves of foreign currencies and gold more than the standard required by the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank, which means that the Iraqi dinar has become a cover and is a difficult currency at present And anywhere from The globe. ”

Sheikhli pointed out that "gold prices in Iraq are the same world prices, and subject to international controls," stressing that "there is a project adopted by the Central Bank, but the legal processes to prevent its implementation is to raise three zeros from
 the currency".

Accessories and safe
Al-Sabah met with goldsmith Abu Ali, owner of a goldsmith shop since 1981 and said: “Many families buy gold not just for decorations but it is a saving for times of need.
And a safe. ”
He pointed out that the price of a single weight of Gulf gold caliber 21 grain is 260 thousand dinars, a kind of desirable much, while the price of weight of 18 carat 215 thousand
Dinar".
It is noteworthy that the gold market in Baghdad is located in the street of the river, along with the cities of Karbala, Najaf, Ramadi and Fallujah, while the seasons of sale will be on holidays and joyous occasions and less in the months of Muharram and zero, as the season is scarce Selling.

After confirming the victory of the revolution .. Sadr joins the rebels in Najaf wearing the Iraqi flag

 Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Baghdad - Writings

It seems that the leader of the Sadrist movement has recently recognized the ability of the revolutionary mobilization in Iraq to lead the scene and that there is no intention to retreat, especially after the street wrapped behind the protesters in most of the provinces of Iraq.

The footage revealed that Muqtada al-Sadr arrived in Najaf from Iran to announce his joining the rebels wearing the Iraqi flag around his neck as he wandered his car between the rebels on Tuesday, October 29, 2019.

Al-Sadr's move comes in conjunction with the escalation of the revolutionary movement and the implementation of civil disobedience in many sectors, and coincided with the announcement of a list of demands, including the removal of all those who participated in the political and partisan process since 2003, as well as the removal of religion from politics.

Abdul Mahdi's statement to Mr. Sadr

Abdul Mahdi sends a message to Mr. Sadr

29th October, 2019

Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi sent a message to the leader of the Sadr movement, Mr. Muqtada al - Sadr, obtained by (Euphrates News).

The following is the text of the letter:

"His Eminence, Muqtada al-Sadr, may God's peace and mercy and blessings be upon you. National provided one of the exits to the current crisis may be proposed for the following reasons:

May come election results are inconclusive and therefore can form a majority government policy clearly enjoys parliamentary support and clear. May contribute to the popular movement as a result of recent demonstrations to the wide participation of young people in the next elections have t Dr. constitutional amendments and reforms put forward to change the entire political climate in the country and happens in a renewal of bearing political forces to project the next phase. There are steps I can take and others that are related to other parties, as well as reservations about the choice of this way out of the crisis.

It is not enough for the prime minister to go to parliament to announce the early elections to achieve this. The early elections require the President of the Republic to approve a request from the Prime Minister to dissolve the parliament and call for early elections within 60 days. Caretaker daily. Or, under Article 64, one-third of the members of the House of Representatives, ie 110 votes, shall be asked to dissolve the House of Representatives. As I wrote in a previous letter to Your Eminence there are some reservations.

If the goal of the elections is to change the government, there is a shorter way for your eminence to agree with your brother to form a new government. I believe that the political blocs will cooperate extensively to achieve the necessary vote. Early elections are unknown. When will it be possible? Will the full terms be agreed? Will their results come decisive? And other things may leave us in front of large unknowns.

Turning the government into a daily caretaker government means not passing the budget.  It means stopping the signing of new projects and the laws required to be legislated as soon as possible, by which we achieve agreed steps to reform, provide jobs, encourage new investments and works, not to mention many other things that should be considered. How long will it take to dissolve the House of Representatives? Or change the Commission Investors flee because of the unknown and bloody events, and there is blood flowing, which requires clear procedures for the state to carry out its duties, and to maintain public order and apply the law to all.

You demand that the participation of the current parties is only acceptable to the people. I note that in my last speech I said that political parties had failed to understand the new equations of the country and had not done their duty as they should. This is a social / political outcome of all experiences and nations. But who will know which parties are satisfied by the people? The freedoms and rights that must be guaranteed to all are not determined by personal jurisprudence, even if they will ultimately prove true. The ballot boxes are the best means of expressing the opinion of the people, provided that we come as close as possible to provide all the conditions to match the opinion of the people with the results of the elections.

This is how it was historically and for the rest of the people, and so it is now and for the Iraqi people. Peoples are not hypothetical or hypothetical situations that each of us will claim to represent. Therefore, the Commander of the Faithful (peace be upon him) refused a pledge of allegiance at night. Therefore, the will of the people must be clear. If there is despotism, revolutions are the answer. If there is a democratic system that provides the means to recognize the opinion of the people, the ballot box is the solution. Either an individual or a power party monopolizes and imposes its will on the people, or a masked person comes and closes a university from universities and writes on closed doors in the name of the people, or a school principal takes the teenagers to the streets in the name of the people. It is also punishable by law and does not represent the public opinion.

Your Eminence, I fully understand the feelings of our youth from the issues of their country and the importance of their participation in them. We also had our youth and our enthusiasm. You may not know that I was dismissed from my fourth grade high school and I was 14-15 years old, because I participated in the Port Said demonstrations and the tripartite aggression against Egypt and against the elections that we once called fraudulent in 1956-1957. The enthusiasm and eagerness of our youth is a reassurance that our young generations have a high sense of patriotism. They will learn with their own experience the right path to draw for their country.  Our duty is not to suppress them, but to respect them, to listen to them and to help them by every means possible. We have done our duty and we have sinned and sinned, and they will take responsibility and pray to the Almighty not to re-commit our mistakes, but to learn from them. "God does not cost a soul, but it can have what it has earned and what it has gained. Our Lord does not take us to forget or sin. You are our Mawlana.

The pragmatism of the economic landscape

Tuesday, October 29, 2019

Thamer Alhims

The pragmatism of its slogan, "Measuring things by its consequences," reflected negatively on its patrons, because of the wide connotation between uncontrolled and disciplined capitalism under the Keynesian theory, which came as an antidote to recession and economic stagnation in light of the problem of economic cycles. Capital towards banks and the world of interest, rent and consumerism.

The courageous decision of the Central Bank to control the movement of funds, to be implemented in February 2020, came late but it is better than not to come. We also hope that the infrastructure that it embraces will be ready now, namely controlling the border outlets, enforcing e-government and reviving the external transfer directorate to support our real economy. Consumption tendency to resolve the window of selling the currency, which did not constitute a successful alternative according to the results and the accompanying and the economic and financial reasons are known.

The banking performance is supposed to evolve by converting hoarding into savings in banks, as 77 percent of the money block is chunky, which has directed banks to serve random import with its disastrous results in agriculture and industry in the absence of non-economic will and the uncontrolled financial performance as announced by us.

Therefore, it is necessary to read carefully the international economic scene that a crisis that will hit the world capitalist economy in 2022 will result in an economic recession as a traditional cycle in the traditional capitalist system. Some of the effects of this will hit us because we are still in indebtedness to their upper limits if measured in relation to national output. In terms of economic relations, we are in a slant trade balance for the benefit of three customers: China, Iran, Turkey and some countries Arabic.

Our real economy of agriculture and industry is not pleased despite the achievements of the protection of some Iraqi products because our private sector still needs to enter into partnerships with the public sector, which requires first to activate the hoarded investment of funds with enlightened and nationally aware hands before considering external borrowing.

Foreign and domestic investment should be through the relevant institutions and according to the example of our project in electricity with China, for example, and through identities and addresses in order to reverse the rentier equation and shift from just a dam for oil towers to producers of a national oil company and an oil law that protects it from futile procedures that have cost and still is Obstructing the Iraqi pilot project to be rewarded with neighboring countries at least with respect and efficiency.

Washington is preparing to impose more sanctions on Tehran

- 6 Hours Have Passed

%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D9%82%D9%88%D8%A8%D8%

The US Treasury is officially launching a new package of sanctions against Iran. Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin said during a visit to Israel yesterday that the United States will increase economic pressure on Iran over its nuclear program, noting that the policy of maximum pressure on Iran "is beginning to bear fruit."

"We have exerted extreme pressure and imposed sanctions on Iran, which are paying dividends and cutting off the flow of funds," Mnuchin said when he received Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Netanyahu said: "Iran is everywhere in the Middle East, and wants to develop missiles that will enable it to target and hit any target in the region."

Netanyahu, who has strongly opposed the nuclear deal, said tougher sanctions could reduce Iran's ability to develop a weapon that could threaten any

Middle Eastern country. "So I want to thank you for what you've done and encourage you, Steve, to do more and more."

The US announcement comes days before Tehran announces more new steps to reduce its commitments in the nuclear deal, which it signed with the major international powers in 2015, which the United States withdrew last year.

Since withdrawing from the nuclear deal last year, Washington has been trying to stop Iran's oil exports as the lifeblood of its economy. The sanctions have undermined part of the legacy of former US President Barack Obama and angered US allies involved in the deal, which aims to restrict Iran's nuclear activities in exchange for lifting sanctions.

Mnuchin added that Washington has carried out a successful campaign of maximum pressure against Tehran, and has been able to reduce the money obtained. He stressed that the pressure will continue more and more, and that he got very specific ideas from the Israelis will be pursued.

The latest sanctions, announced by the Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control in September, targeted the Central Bank of Iran, the National Development Fund and Pars Etjarat Pars, for providing financial support to terrorism, including attacks on its facilities. Saudi Aramco oil.

The ministry statement said that the Iranian central bank provided billions of dollars to the Revolutionary Guards and its Qods forces and its terrorist agent Hezbollah.

He added that the Iranian Development Fund, which is under the supervision of the guide, the country's sovereign wealth fund, whose board of trustees includes the Iranian president, the oil minister and the central bank governor, is a major source of foreign currency to finance the Revolutionary Guards, the Ministry of Defense and logistical support for the armed forces. Etemad Tegarat Pars is used to conceal remittances for military purchases, including funds from the Development Fund.

Two days ago, the United States announced the creation of a new mechanism for "humanitarian" exports to Iran, which it said was aimed at facilitating the dispatch of basic needs to Iran. The new mechanism "will make it easier for foreign governments, banking institutions and private companies to engage in legitimate humanitarian trade with the Iranian people, while at the same time reducing the risk of these funds falling into the wrong hands," said Brian Hawk, the Iranian State Department official.

But Tehran criticized the US move, saying it would be a new barrier to trade with it, rather than facilitating it.
Washington stresses that the harsh economic sanctions it imposes on Tehran are not aimed at food, medicine and other humanitarian needs, but that most commercial companies are avoiding trade relations with Tehran, fearing that they might face US sanctions.

At the time, the State Department issued a statement saying that the US Treasury held last week the first meeting of the international partnership to combat Hezbollah, to build multilateral cooperation to target Hezbollah's international financial networks.

The statement added that the meeting was attended by 30 countries from the Middle East and Western Hemisphere, Europe, Asia and Africa, and was held on the sidelines of the autumn meetings of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in Washington.

Assistant Treasury Secretary for Terrorism and Financial Intelligence Sigal Mandelker said Hezbollah was benefiting from a network of funders and supporters around the world to finance its violent agenda. She added that the international partnership to combat Hezbollah unites the international community in a strong campaign to counter the evolving plans of Hezbollah; in order to better protect the international system from exploitation. She stressed that the international partnership to combat Hezbollah is an important initiative to exchange information and build capacity among our partners to increase the effectiveness of the use of financial instruments available against Hezbollah.

At the meeting, the United States condemned Hizbullah's misuse of the international financial system, and outlined steps that focus on influencing it, which countries should take to eliminate these abuses, the ministry said.

The statement added that this includes the exchange of information between the financial intelligence units and strengthen the risk assessment of terrorist financing and the development of targeted financial sanctions systems and the prosecution of terrorists and financial facilitators.

The statement concluded that the countries participating in the meeting pointed to the importance of raising the issue of Hezbollah in international forums to build momentum and ensure coordination of efforts. He stressed that the next steps would be the next meeting to send technical experts to the law enforcement coordination team to be held on 16 and 17 December in The Hague in the Netherlands.

He added that this growth comes as a result of the increase in crude oil production (up to 6.3% so far) and the recovery in non-oil economic activity, an increase of 5.6% in the first half of 2019 compared to last year

He stressed that "the recent recovery is due to improved levels of rainfall and the production of record agricultural crops and improved electricity production and expansionary fiscal policy linked to increased wage bill andpublic consumption

"Such positive developments are expected to raise real GDP growth to an estimated 4.6% by the end of the year," he said

He pointed out that "the Iraqi economy outperformed its counterparts in the region this year, but the dynamics of the population requires much higher growth to maintain the current level of prosperity

by Ali EjamIraq News5 Hours ago

Washington - Agencies

US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Wednesday praised the steps taken by the Financial Action Task Force to protect the international financial system from Iranian threats by reimposing countermeasures on Tehran for failing to meet international standards to combat terrorist financing and money laundering

"Iran has demonstrated a deliberate failure to address systemic deficiencies in the fight against money laundering and terrorist financing, ensuring a deliberate lack of transparency in its economy so that it can continue to export terrorism," Pompeo said in a statement

"The IRGC continues to engage in large-scale and illegal plans to finance its malicious activities," he said. "This includes support for terrorist groups classified by the United States, such as Hezbollah and Hamas," he said. He stressed that "the facilitation of illicit financing plans for the Iranian Revolutionary Guards is taking place at the highest levels of the Iranian government."

The Terrorist Financing Targeting Center, made up of the United States and six Gulf states, has designated a network of companies, banks and individuals supporting the activities of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Lebanese Hezbollah as terrorist groups, coinciding with the recent visit of US Treasury Secretary Stephen Mnuchin to the region

A  statement  issued by the US Treasury Department said that the seven members of the Center decided to designate "25 names targeted for belonging to the Iranian regime's networks supporting terrorism in the region," in a move is the largest of the center so far 21 target entities represent a huge business network providing financial support to the Basij, a paramilitary force of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards “used by the regime to recruit and train fighters, deploy fighters to fight in conflicts triggered by the IRGC, and in carrying out terrorist attacks throughout the region” , According to the statement

The remaining four targets are Hizbullah affiliates who are responsible for Hizballah's coordination, intelligence and financial activities in Iraq: Shebl Mohsen Obaid al-Zaidi, Yousef Hashim, Adnan Hussein Kawtharani, and Mohammed Abdel Hadi Farhat

Revolutionary response from Khamenei and Iran .. Revealed your hatred of Iraq and the Arabs and now it is time for UN intervention

 Wednesday 30 October 2019

Baghdad - Writings

Iran has not tolerated the Iraqi revolution and millions have come out against its hegemony and militias over the wealth and decision of Iraq.

This forced the organizing committee of the Dignity Revolution demonstrations to respond in an urgent statement on Wednesday, October 30, 2019, describing Khamenei's remarks as "the brazen Khamenei's tweet."

The Commission said that the Free Revolutionaries, while rejecting and denouncing the aggressive statements made by Khamenei and some Iranian officials, confirms the blatant Iranian interference in Iraq and even blatantly shows the political and military decision-making in Iraq to Iran through the government and its militias.

In response, the Commission called on the United Nations and the Arab League to end this interference and condemn Khamenei's statements calling for the killing of peaceful demonstrators.

The Commission sent a message reading: We tell Khamenei and his followers that your stinking statements against the Iraqi people and peaceful demonstrators reflect the image of your crime of repression and tyranny and your hateful racism in hatred of Iraqis in particular and Arabs in general and reveals the truth of his bloody and racial hateful face covered in religious mask.

The committee concluded its statement by saying: We tell him Iraq will remain a thorn in your eyes and the demonstrators are determined to restore their country from the corrupt junta loyal to you and determined to build a political process rational governing democracy and peaceful transfer of power.

The field response to Iran and its supreme leader also came from demonstrators and revolutionaries on the ground in most of the provinces of Iraq, especially the capital, Baghdad. The nation to freedom from corruption and Iranian domination.

IMHO -

What we are seeing developing in front of us, is a revolution against the Iranian influence in Iraq on many fronts.

The citizens of Iraq are done with the Iranian Corruption in their country, the citizens of Iraq are done with the Iranian meddling in their government politics,  the resulting inefficiency in addition to the pilfering of their resources.

The Mullahs, Khamenei and rest of the them in Tehran are seeing their Iraqi ATM slip away, in addition to their control / power in Iraq, thus they are in a tenuous position. ( another facet to consider, is their future at home in Iran )

Again IMHO -

As dire and concerning as the recent news has been, regarding the riots and demonstrations, this is the enema that Iraq needs to flush the Iranian influence down the toilet.

Hopefully this is the darkest hour before the dawn  :praying:

Semper Fi:salute:
