Lots of FAKE news running wild !!!!!

We want Mahdi to remain as prime minister. That shows some type of stability. We are so close to this thing happening, we can't afford to have it derailed now. I'll be very surprised if the CBI comes back on Sunday and continues the auction as usual. Since that was one of the demands of the protesters to stop them.

Young Iraqis circumvent the Internet blocking

- 11 Hours Have Passed

%D8%A7%D9%84%D8%B9%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%82-2-1

Blackanthem Military News, BAGHDAD, Iraq -

By using clandestine means of communication, widely unused methods and expensive foreign messages, young Iraqis are trying to circumvent the Internet blockade by Iraqi authorities to crack down on bloody protests.
BAGHDAD (Reuters) - After a wave of protests on Tuesday that killed nearly 100 people since Tuesday in Baghdad and provinces, Iraqi authorities blocked access to Facebook and WhatsApp, before cutting off the Internet on Wednesday, leaving protesters with no means of communication other than regular communications and messages. But not all protesters!

Ahmed, 29, is an employee of an Internet provider that has implemented the government's decision to shut down the Internet, but its employees are still able to access the network at the company's headquarters.

"I go to the demonstrations in the morning, shoot videos on my phone, then go back to my workplace and use the Internet to upload them to Facebook or send them to media out of Iraq," he said, using a pseudonym for fear of prosecution.

"My comrades are handing me the materials they photograph on USB memory sticks so everyone outside Iraq can see what's happening here," Ahmed said.

Prior to Tuesday, social media was a platform for Iraqis to call for demonstrations, especially via Facebook and Instagram, against unemployment, corruption, cronyism, lack of social services and more.

On the first day, images of men and women marching towards the symbolic Tahrir Square in the center of the capital invaded social media, using the hashtag #Nakul_Hakki.

When Facebook started blocking, Iraqis moved to download VPN applications (a virtual network that allows access to servers outside the country), and others began posting details of upcoming demonstrations in the Cinemana Comments section, an application that broadcasts popular programs and series in Iraq.

Others have used satellite communications, which are very expensive, to communicate with the outside world.

Protesters pointed out that blocking the Internet is an attempt to prevent reports of repression by security forces used to repel protesters tear gas, water cannons and live bullets.

"They are trying to confront us not only with weapons, but also with obstruction," said protester Osama Mohammed, 31. “We used to look at all the Facebook pages of our neighborhoods to see where we were going to demonstrate. Now we follow the sound of bullets only. ”

Rasha, a 25-year-old feminist, considers the demonstrations a serious risk if she takes part. Yet she found another way to get involved. Every day, her young comrades provide her with phone messages about the latest developments in protest venues across Iraq, and she forwards those messages to friends outside Iraq.

Rasha also maintains a video and some unpublished material from one of the first violent demonstrations. “They think we will forget that they shot us, they think people won't know. But I have videos, and I will post everything I saw the moment the Internet returns. ”

Race among politicians to jump from Iraqi government ship

- 16 Hours Have Passed

%D8%B9%D8%AF%D9%88%D9%84.jpg

Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi is approaching the loss of new political parties, which seem to have decided to jump from the government ship, which is about to sink due to an unprecedented wave of protest, which swept the country length and breadth, which has so far killed more than 100 people, and about four thousand wounded.

Five demonstrators were killed on Saturday in central Baghdad by security forces who were firing heavily to disperse the protesters, witnesses said.

The pressure and breadth of the protests encouraged parties who were reluctant to declare anti-government positions and “support” demonstrators after booing and leaving the government and militias to inflame them. National led by Sunni politician Khamis al-Khanjar.

It seemed that the Mahdi government was collapsing in the face of widespread popular protests, far from party and political motives, in a unique development, prompting it to declare an urgent position against the executive authority, which practiced all forms of repression to silence the demonstrators, to no avail.

Sources familiar with the scenes of developments that Sadr and Abadi are now coordinating a clear position to demand the removal of Abdul-Mahdi and call for early elections, amid leaks of openness on the Kurdish side to ensure no objection, after attracting this movement to a Sunni bloc led by the dagger, which controls 20 seats in parliament.

Although this movement could not have evolved to this extent, had it not been for the bloody protest movement, which the government had bloodily suppressed, it was clearly welcomed by some demonstrators, knowing that it was a ride to their wave.

Observers say that this harmony between political parties and protesters resentful on these parties necessarily, reflects the explicit desire on both sides to get rid of the Iranian influence, which is clearly represented by the Mahdi government.

Should the news of coordination between these parties come to the fore, the Mahdi government would lose most of its supporters, with the exception of the al-Fateh alliance, which most clearly embodies Iranian influence in Iraq.

Demonstrators say that it is no longer important who is the alternative, although the Shiite parties are not very different from each other, but the success of the demonstrations in the overthrow of the prime minister will send a message to various political parties that the street is capable of making change.

In addition to Abdul-Mahdi, only an Iraqi talking about "the survival of the current regime" is left only by Parliament Speaker Mohammed al-Halbousi, who may be worried that the protests of the protesters, apparently President Barham Saleh, may be out of immediate danger.

The scope of the protest movement is widening

The Sunni MP in the Iraqi parliament Ahmed al-Jubouri revealed, the speaker of parliament's attempt to receive protesters and listen to their demands and make promises to achieve, failed miserably, as a meeting in the House of Representatives ended on Saturday, demanding representatives of the demonstrators Halbousi to step down immediately, Despite standing among them.

Jubouri said that the representatives of the demonstrators met Halbousi in the parliament building, and rejected his request publicly when he called on them to end the protests, and even asked him to resign.

Observers say that the scope of the protest movement is widening, foreshadowing a broad process of change, after the failure of prosthetic solutions that the government tried to calm the demonstrators.

Baghdad was calm on Saturday morning, hours after the two-day curfew was lifted to prevent protesters from gathering in public squares.

The correspondent of the "Arabs" in Baghdad that the movement was very limited in the Iraqi capital, on Saturday morning, amid anticipation of a new wave of protests by evening.

But the security deployment was heavy, with security authorities continuing to close the Green Zone, where the prime minister's building is located, which is now classified as one of the main targets of the demonstrators.

Security sources said that elements of Iraqi militias loyal to Iran, deployed militants near vital buildings in the Green Zone.

The Baghdad operations reported, at dawn on Saturday, the fall of a senior officer in its ranks, shot by unidentified snipers, when commanding a force to disperse a demonstration in the aviation square in the center of the capital.

Maybe this is the $h*tshow we always thought would happen right before the RV/RI......

Propaganda to shake the weak hands loose and have people running scared for the exits into the safety of the Dollar only to revalue the Iraqi hard currency right afterward? Would be a wild ending to this rollercoaster anyway.

At this his point I think we are only going to have a short while before all fiat currencies are devalued against digital assets anyway....

we’ll see

US analysis: distinguishes the protests of Iraq from its predecessors

580.jpg

7th October, 2019

The growing strife in Iraq is threatening to topple the government. If protests increase in intensity and scale, the government says, it could bring down the government.

There have been major unrest in Iraq's major cities since October 1, largely in Shiite areas in the center and south of the country. Although the demonstrations were caused by a variety of political and economic issues, they have since merged into a broad movement and taken a violent turn.

Iraqi Prime Minister Adel Abdul Mahdi said in a speech to Iraqis that there are "no magic solutions" to solve their problems, and called for more time to resolve the chronic issues in the country, most notably with regard to corruption and unemployment. In an effort to calm public anger, Abdul Mahdi announced a new pay scheme for poor families and the dismissal of 1,000 government employees accused of corruption, among other measures.

Sistani and Sadr

The website says that these promises did not do much to calm the situation, adding that this is not surprising given that the basic problems in Iraq continue unresolved despite similar assurances during previous periods of unrest.  For his part, condemned the top Shiite cleric Grand Ayatollah Ali al-Sistani on Friday condemned the security response to the protests, and urged the prime minister to establish a committee to fight corruption. Shi'ite cleric Moqtada al-Sadr also issued a call for the government to resign, saying the "Sairoun" bloc in parliament would stop participating in parliament until the government enters real reform, echoing his long-standing call for anti-corruption measures. The site says the turmoil caused by economic and political concerns is not new in Iraq, but its current outbreak is characterized by many unique aspects that indicate the risks it poses to the continuity of the current government.

Different protests

He explains that the current protests differ from the economically motivated demonstrations of previous years, especially in size and scope. These protests do not appear to have a central leader, making it more difficult to control, both by the Iraqi government and foreign actors. Although there are signs of pro-protest social media tags that may have originated in Saudi Arabia, given the diversity of the social and political spectrum in Iraq, it is unlikely that any single external representative will be able to benefit from the current unrest. The site stresses that these protests come at a time when the Iraqi government suffers from a special weakness, there is a big difference between its factions, especially among the Shiite elite, on how to respond to these protests, especially since none of the nearby solutions under consideration will not resolve chronic issues Long-term that has been aggravating for years.

Possible Expectations

The site expects that the resignation of Abdul Mahdi's government may occur sooner or later, and that a wave of unrest may erupt as the first anniversary of his assumption of office on 25 October. US facilities and other foreign companies, especially in the oil and gas sector, could become targets, with pro-Iranian factions in the political and security forces willing to take advantage of the unrest. He adds that although this did not happen during the current round of protests, foreign companies were attacked during previous periods of unrest.

The PMUs can play a key role in the final outcome, but it is unlikely that the PMU will be ready to quell the protests because the majority of its members are grassroots participants. But their links to Iran and their formal integration into the Iraqi security apparatus make the options open about their expected reactions. The website concludes that ISIS and other jihadi groups could benefit from the current unrest, especially if Iraqi security forces focus on containing them.
