"These programs have a great strategic dimension to serve Iraq as well as China will make Iraq a focal point, especially in the port of Fao, because it will be the end point of the Silk Road to Europe down to the Gulf, but will the government really turn its attention to the Iraqi reality to receive such possibilities and energies?"

Petrel Resources eyes Opportunities in Iraq

Petrel-Resources-logo-140619.png

24th September, 2019

Irish-based Petrel Resources has said that one of its main priorities has been re-building its presence in Iraq.

In its financial results for the six months ended 30th June 2019, the company said:

While challenges remain, the Iraqi government encourages international investors with Iraqi operating experience.  The security situation has dramatically improved since 2018.  Iraq remains exempt from OPEC quotas, and Iraqi oil output has reached 4.7 million barrels of oil daily.

“The next Iraqi bidding round (for exploration of blocks with gas potential) is expected during 2020.  The model contract is expected to be an updated version of the Iraqi hybrid exploration and development contract, incorporating aspects of service contract and production sharing.  These terms are more attractive for international explorers than in prior bid rounds.

“The improving security situation in western Iraq has again made possible field-work on prime western desert exploration blocks, including Block 6, on which we worked from 2002. Similarly, the Merjan oil discovery, by Mobil in 1982, which has recently been packaged with Kifl & west Kifl oilfields, has arisen as a possible development project.

“The Merjan oilfield and surroundings, on which Petrel operated a Technical Cooperation Agreement in joint venture with Japanese giant Itochu from 2004 through 2007, has recently been covered by 1,000 km sq a 3d seismic survey conducted by the Iraqi Oil Exploration Company.  This enhanced data should further minismise the risks & costs of development.

Saleh: Iraq will invite its neighbors to meet in Baghdad to map a regional alliance

Saleh: Iraq will invite its neighbors to meet in Baghdad to map a regional alliance

9/24/2019 18:29

President Barham Saleh said his message during his participation in the work of the United Nations General Assembly stresses that "Iraq has no intention of being drawn into regional conflicts, intends to protect his own interests and will not allow himself to be used as a base to attack his neighbors or As a battlefield for their agents."

The President of the Republic, in an article published in the Wall Street Journal, on Monday, that "it is in our interest to act as a force to achieve stability and to use our main strategic position and good relations with our neighbors to eliminate extremism, and that Iraq seeks to be a force capable of achieving Stability and a bridge for economic integration in the Middle East. "

He pointed out that "Baghdad intends to invite its neighbors to meet in it for talks starting with the need to support the stability of Iraq and the renewal of its economy, and work hard to identify areas of urgent cooperation and work out a road map for a more cohesive regional alliance."  "The recent attacks on oil installations in Saudi Arabia, as well as the horrific conflicts in Yemen and Syria, are a source of concern for the Middle East and the rest of the world. No country can better understand the scourge of war, sanctions, violence and infighting than Iraq," Saleh said. The Iraqi is more aware of the size of the human and material costs that may be imposed by aggressive policies and no country yearns for stability more than Iraq."

"We stand today on the threshold of a new era, after Iraqis, regardless of their nationality or creed, were able to defeat ISIS and with the help of international allies," he said. To provide better services, rehabilitate and expand our infrastructure, reform our bloated public sector, and strengthen our institutions to keep ourselves away from oil dependency by creating an active private sector, tackling corruption, and building regulatory and legal frameworks to attract foreign investors.'' "These are the tremendous tasks facing the government of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi, who shares my enthusiasm for reform," he said. "Iraq is reaching out to its neighbors and the international community for financial and technical assistance.

"Iraq is introducing historic legislation to establish a reconstruction agency, with the aim of encouraging private companies and foreign investors to form large-scale partnerships with the government in infrastructure projects. This initiative can form the basis for cross-border regional initiatives that will in turn create a shared inter-provincial interest," he said. And encourage local economic growth and provide jobs."

The President of the Republic that "the bitter experience against ISIS has taught us as Iraqis that there is something that binds us more than divide us, and we have common dreams and mutual interests to cooperate to achieve." "This is a lesson for our neighbors and our allies as well, because prosperity depends on building bridges, not by slamming doors. For our own selfish reasons, we intend to take the initiative,'' he said.

I know I’m grasping here, but here it goes;

All the restrictions have been on $10,000 usd,

$20,000usd, and over $20,000usd.

Based on current rates, Iraq’s currency restrictions is on $900 +-..???

And then a grant of $1400+- for food for 8000 families.

It doesn’t add up.

However, if you have an exchange rate

of $.01-$.02 to 1 Dinar which equals

1,000,000 dinars = $10,000-$20,000.

Now that adds up. Right??

Again- probably just Grasping!😁🙏

Europe leaves its reluctance and blames Iran for the attack on Aramco

- 8 Hours Have Passed

%D8%A7%D9%8A%D8%B1%D8%A7%D9%86-9-300x200

WASHINGTON (Reuters) - European countries left on Tuesday their reluctant stance on Iran's threats to regional and global security after France, Britain and Germany directly accused Tehran of involvement in the September 14 attack on Saudi oil facilities.

The European position is identical to that of the United States, which has accused Tehran from the start of attacking two facilities belonging to Saudi Aramco, which provides a fifth of the world's oil supplies.

US President Donald Trump on Tuesday called on all countries to tighten the screws on Iran's economy, saying no country should support "Iran's bloodthirsty".

"All countries have a duty to act," Trump told the UN General Assembly. Sanctions will not be lifted as long as Iran continues its threatening behavior. Sanctions will be tightened. ”

The semi-official Mehr news agency quoted the Iranian government as saying that the statement issued by Britain, France and Germany, accusing Tehran of responsibility for the attack on two Saudi oil facilities, showed that these countries lack the will to face US "bullying".

"The statement showed that the European parties have neither the strength nor the willpower to confront the US bullying," Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi was quoted as saying.

Tensions between Iran and the United States have escalated since President Donald Trump withdrew from the nuclear deal last year and imposed sanctions on Tehran's oil and banking sectors.

As a result, Iran has made it necessary for Europe to provide additional economic support for it to maintain the agreement.

Tehran is well aware that European leaders are too incapable of helping it avoid US sanctions and that it takes little time to negotiate directly with the decision-maker and diplomatic support that Iran is stimulating by raising the ceiling of threats at times and calming down again.

Observers believe that by escalating against its European allies and pushing them into the corner, Iran wants to extend diplomatic efforts to gain more time, until it finds a recipe to negotiate directly with Washington and save face, as Iran has not negotiated before this from a position of weakness.

Iran is likely to accept negotiations with the United States on a new nuclear deal, including its ballistic missile program, as it faces sanctions that have a major impact on its economy.

"Donald Trump's administration favors a political solution with Tehran on the basis that past experience has shown that going to war is much easier than getting out of it," US officials said.

"Washington aims primarily to end Iran's support for terrorism and its allied militias in the region, to restrict its missile programs, and to negotiate a new nuclear agreement to replace the 2015 agreement," diplomatic sources said.

So far, experts say, the broader approach to the Trump administration's foreign policy depends on exerting maximum pressure on adversaries to force them to make concessions.

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Tuesday he was willing to discuss limited changes, additions or amendments to the Islamic Republic's six-nation deal in 2015 if the United States lifted sanctions on Tehran.

"I would be prepared to consider limited changes, additions or amendments to the nuclear agreement once the sanctions are lifted," Rowhani told the New York media.

Iran's reformist president faces roughly the same scenario as the conservatives' blocking of Iran's 2015 nuclear program, as the hard-line close to Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei is limiting his tendency to negotiate a new nuclear deal that includes U.S. conditions for the ballistic missile program to be included in the new deal.

Rouhani is counting on French and even German diplomatic support to soften Washington's positions, giving the impression to the Iranian interior that he will negotiate from a position of strength.

2019/25/09 17:28

President Barham Saleh said on Wednesday that Iraq will not be part of one axis against another, stressing at the same time that the country is on the verge of important economic developments.

"There is a positive atmosphere in dealing with the accumulated problems between the federal government and the Kurdistan Regional Government on the basis of the constitution and the role of the UN mission in Baghdad is important in this regard," Saleh said during his speech at the UN General Assembly in New York. "The military victory over ISIS is important, but we must be aware that there are remnants of the terrorist organization trying to reorganize. Regional tensions and conflicts in the region are serious factors and an environment that gives terrorism a space for promises."

He continued that "the Islamic State terrorist project was a malicious scheme to destroy Iraq and the region and the number of great sacrifices recorded by our people and our armed forces from the army and the Popular Mobilization and Peshmerga and others on the road to freedom and resistance to terrorism with the help and support of the international coalition and friends to whom we give all our thanks and appreciation, "The Iraqis were able, with their unity and solid will, and the great role of the religious authority, to drop this takfiri project and protect the world from its evils."

He pointed out that "the continuation of the war in Yemen is a matter of great concern in light of the security and humanitarian repercussions that cast a shadow on the region and the need to support Yemenis to reach a comprehensive political solution that restores peace throughout their country," pointing out that "the continuation of the tragic situation in Syria and enable extremism and terrorism to create an environment His incubator requires real efforts to enable the Syrians to make a lasting political solution." He stressed that "targeting the security of the Gulf and Saudi Arabia is a serious development and we in Iraq are concerned about this tension. Our security is linked to the security of the Gulf, the region and the international community must seriously help in the escalation of this escalation. Enough wars, we do not need a new war in the region, especially since the war against terrorism. It has not been conclusively completed."

He pointed out that "the stability of Iraq is in the common interest of all, the absence or absence of Iraq was an element of tension and instability for the whole region, and Iraq is recovering, we have been for a long period of conflict for others, we paid and paid the region exorbitant prices, in the interest of the region requires that Iraq be a bridge of understanding between His brothers and neighbors." He added: "We renew the call to build a common security system in the Middle East, and the establishment of an economic integration system and political coordination to eradicate terrorism and ensure stability, we do not want our country to be a party to the regional and international conflict and no arena for settling scores. Iraq will not be part of the axis against another, will not Iraq is the starting point for aggression against any neighboring countries. We do not want a new war and we do not wish that any people suffer from the scourge of wars as we have suffered.

Saleh added: "Iraq is on the verge of positive developments important security, political and economic. We must evaluate these positive developments and build on them in the light of security stability achieved so far, this stability achieved is an important achievement and must be preserved and not to compromise." He concluded: "A stable and democratic federal Iraq will be a platform for reuniting its brothers and neighbors and enhancing the understanding and consensus of the countries of the region to create a regional system based on economic integration, common security and stability achieved in Iraq is precious and important and we expect our neighbors and the international community not to hold Iraq the consequences of their differences and disputes.''

It constitutes a sustainable accumulation in the markets which positively affects the national economy in general. Foreign investments bring expertise in various fields of economic projects because of its long history in the field of production specialization, and in order to stimulate the Iraqi economy is supposed to work to attract local and foreign investments in various economic projects to develop and improve the national economy because of these projects will increase the movement This is because of its many factors that make it an active contributor to this movement in which it has an important role.

The stimulus of investments is supposed to be within an integrated strategy that takes into account the economic reality of the country and the priorities of investment projects required and urgent and economic feasibility of them and the consequences of the impact on the Iraqi economy in general and be distributed in a way that covers most of the provinces of Iraq in order to spread its positive results to all regions of Iraq.

One of the incentive measures for entrepreneurs is to allocate appropriate areas to them and eliminate routine procedures in obtaining the necessary approvals for the establishment and establishment of investment projects, which often discourage investors from simply thinking about coming to our country and starting their projects, which is sometimes a spiral of requests. Approval and time-consuming and time-consuming procedures, which are completely incompatible with the investment equation, which includes facilitating obtaining approvals to start an economic project, as well as providing incentives for Tax Khvadhat on these projects, especially in the early establishment and other incentives that could be in the interests of attracting such investments and encourage them to expand in the Iraqi market.

Recent investments in Iraq can bring significant benefits to the Iraqi economy in the areas of employment of local labor and work to alleviate this problem. In addition, foreign investments will benefit from their expertise in various productive fields, especially technological ones, which keep pace with developments in the world at the present time, in addition to achieving financial resources for the public budget comes from the sum of economic activities carried out by these projects.

The encouragement of investments of all kinds will bring benefits to the economy at the economic, technological, industrial, administrative and other benefits, which requires encouragement and attraction to work in Iraq.
