In the last few month iraq has been signing trade agreements with many countries, Prior ascension to the WTO.

The role of world trade organisation is to provide fair platform to its member country to help in service like exports ,imports and conduct their business in a peaceful manner. The advantages to the country being members in world trade organisation(WTO) is that they lower trade related barriers among them.

Go Iraq

Go WTO

Go open market economy

Anybody know if Iraq has ever been a member of the WTO..?

HCR, the WTO began in 1995 and Saddam Hussein was in power for about 30 years, so that brings him in about 1970. We invaded in 2003 and democracy was planted in Iraq, and I believe the first rounds of WTO review began in 2007. The process to gain full membership in the WTO is about 10+ years, so I would say no is the answer to your question.

Although WTO has strict rules on currency and fair value in trading, these rules

are often broken. China has under valued their currency for many years and it has helped

them to the giant status they have in the trade world today. This is one of the things that

Trump is trying to correct and should have been dealt with years ago.

no worries iraq has been a observer wto member for quite awhile full ascension to membership has many aspects and much of it lies with Iraq as we all know iraq is not real transparent about financials and the important things that must be exposed and submitted for full membership to date corruption has been on the front burner with anyone with any importance inside iraq wto full membership does have  accountability ... sorry to digress here's hoping iraq is turning a page in history ....
