BAGHDAD balances News
confirmed that an Israeli newspaper, that the attack on Saudi Arabia attributed to Iran Aramco, " the equivalent of a war", pointing out that the consequences of this attack, the renewed tension that could spiral out of control and lead to an escalation of a regional affect "Israel".
The newspaper "Haaretz" Hebrew, in a report published by the Israeli expert Amos Harel, that "the Iranian attack on Saudi oil facilities, is the most dramatic development in the Gulf, since the withdrawal of the United States of America nuclear agreement," explaining that "Iran continues to officially deny its relationship with the attack ".
She added that the administration of US President Donald Trump, "recently showed increased willingness to resume talks with the Iranians, with a view to reaching a new agreement, but Tehran's move comes against this trend," noting that "
"Will the Iranian attack draw more concessions from Washington?" She said. "We have already learned that it is difficult to bet on Trump's steps. So far, the president's response is relatively small, and he continues to air more willingness to talk to the Iranians than to confront them." .
Haaretz estimated that Saturday's attack was almost equivalent to waging war, and Saudi Arabia acknowledged that the operation had damaged nearly half the oil production capacity, and that oil prices have risen in the last two days by about $ 10 a barrel.
According to the Israeli point of view, "there are potential repercussions here; first: the renewed tension between Iran and Saudi Arabia as well as the United States, and this tension can spiral out of control, and lead to a regional escalation, will affect Israel, and secondly; the Iranian attack indicates the growing and sophisticated ability of the regime Iranian cruise missiles. "
"Israel is outside the current range of these cruise missiles, but they are exposed to Iran's ballistic missiles, while these capabilities could be in the future of Hezbollah, and in the way Iran thinks about a devastating and sudden strike on infrastructure targets."
"This is another indication of the need for rapid development of Israel's defense and interception systems, with an emphasis on fortifying strategic sites," the paper said.
"The merger between Iran's continued denial of its relationship with the attack and its announcement that President Hassan Rouhani and Trump will not meet on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly meeting in New York at the end of this month seem like raising the bet," she said. The new economic imposed by Washington, which requires the transfer of negotiations to the practical and public stage, the complete abolition of sanctions as a precedent. "
Haaretz warned that "Iran goes very close to the edge, while Washington did not give any indication that the recent attack in Saudi Arabia will lead to a change in policy on their part towards Iran," explaining that "Trump announced that the US military response is ready, At the same time, he described the attack as a Saudi problem, not an American one. "
She continued: "Trump also announced his readiness to hold negotiations with Iran, and at the same time denied his readiness to hold talks without preconditions," noting that "it is difficult to conclude a comprehensive US policy on Tehran."
"Iran has done a great deal of damage to Saudi Arabia, has proven its ability to disrupt the global oil industry, and has challenged Trump," the newspaper said. "The president has yet to decide how to respond, although in the meantime he is not broadcasting A clear desire for confrontation

Official tells AFP that cruise missiles were involved in attacks on Abqaiq and Khurais

Vice President Mike Pence says United States evaluating evidence on the attacks

WASHINGTON: The United States has concluded that the weekend attack on Saudi oil facilities was launched from Iranian soil and cruise missiles were involved, a US official told AFP on Tuesday.

The comments come as Secretary of State Mike Pompeo headed to the Kingdom Tuesday amid heightened tensions after the strikes.

The official, who declined to be identified, said the United States was gathering evidence about the attack to present to the international community, notably European allies, at the UN General Assembly next week.

Asked if Washington was certain that the missiles had been launched from Iranian soil, the official answered: "Yes."

US intelligence services have the capability of determining where the missiles were launched from, the official said, declining, however, to say how many were fired.

"I will not get into that kind of details," the official said.

On Tuesday, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman spoke with UK prime minister Boris Johnson over the phone, with Johnson assuring the prince of the importance of a “collective global response” to the Aramco attack.

The weekend strikes on Abqaiq -- the world's largest oil processing facility – and the Khurais oil field in eastern Saudi Arabia have roiled global energy markets.

Yemen's Iran-backed-Houthi militants claimed responsibility for Saturday's attacks but Saudi Arabia accused Iran and President Donald Trump also singled out Tehran.

"Certainly, it would look to most like it was Iran," Trump said Monday.

The president said the United States wanted to help its Saudi ally but he wanted to avoid a war.

US Vice President Mike Pence said on Tuesday the United States was evaluating evidence on the attacks on Saudi oil facilities and stands read to defend its interests and allies in the Middle East. If Iran conducted Saturday's attacks to pressure Trump to back off his sanctions regime against Tehran, they will fail, Pence said.

Tensions between Iran and the United States and its allies have threatened to boil over since May last year when Trump abandoned a 2015 nuclear deal and began reimposing sanctions in its campaign of "maximum pressure."

US urges Security Council to take action on attacks on Saudi Aramco

b6c654fe-8efd-4347-9b98-554d10591768

A senior US official has called for a UN Security Council response to the attacks on Saudi oil facilities, in which the United States blames Iran.
But it is unclear what action the US official is demanding or whether Washington will ensure Russia's cooperation in this regard.
The US official said: “We believe that the UN Security Council has a role to play. Saudi Arabia was attacked and it would be appropriate for them to go to the Security Council. But first we have to collect the publishable information. ”
The official, who asked not to be named, did not explain what he meant by "publishable information", and the United States occasionally publishes classified information to support its argument in the UN Security Council .
The Reuters news agency quoted another US official as saying that the United States believes that the attacks that paralyzed Saudi oil installations last Saturday, started from southwestern Iran.
While it is unclear what action the senior official expects from the 15-member Security Council , US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo has proposed several options over the past year, but Washington has not taken any of them.
Success is unlikely because officials say Russia and China, which have veto powers along with the United States, France and Britain, are likely to protect Iran.
Russia has already warned against “jumping results” on who is responsible for the attacks.
The UN Security Council could, at the very least, issue a statement condemning the attacks, but such action must have unanimous approval.

This comes in conjunction with a visit by the commander of US special operations in Iraq and Syria, General Eric Tug Hill to Baghdad, since Tuesday, during which he met with Defense Minister Najah al-Shammari.
Observers considered the Iraqi action to make the border area near Saudi Arabia in the hands of the Iraqi army as a positive message to Saudi Arabia.
Last Saturday, drone attacks targeted the site of Abqaiq, the largest oil processing plant in Saudi Arabia, run by state-owned Aramco, and the Khurais oil field.
Saudi Arabia said drones carried out the attacks, which began at 1 am (GMT) on Saturday, and caused plumes of smoke.
Yemen's Houthi group said it had sent 10 drones to Saudi facilities, vowing more attacks.

US military report. The alarm bells in the Arabian Gulf

It did not go through terrorist attacks on oil company "Aramco" refineries Saudi Arabia without excite analysts and military concerns in Washington, specifically within the organs of security and intelligence agencies.

Despite the Pentagon's silence on how things can go in dealing with Iran's growing threats , these attacks against Aramco have heightened tensions between Iran and the United States, and concerns about Tehran's military ability to threaten Saudi Arabia and neighboring countries' infrastructure . .

Is Iran capable of disrupting Saudi infrastructure, especially in oil?
Although Saudi Arabia has weaknesses to defend vital facilities in the oil, desalination, electricity and shipping sectors , says the CSIS and its close associates at the Pentagon. The Americans within their territories raise their deterrence readiness.

US reinforcements
The US reinforcements are distributed in Saudi Arabia, as follows, according to information about the "free":
- Advanced missile defense systems include the last two generations of battery systems Patriot.
- Strategic warplanes at Prince Sultan Airbase, including B-52 bombers and F-35 and F-22 fighter jets.
- Large number of US forces (possibly hundreds of thousands). The CSIS report
confirms that Iran has so far been able to carry out a series of attacks, to which Washington has only responded by resorting to a harsh sanctions policy. It could, perhaps, lead to the collapse of Tehran's economy.
But, according to military experts, these measures will not be enough to achieve these goals.

Aircraft carrier
As experts "Osa.os.aa.os" admits that the presence of the aircraft carrier and its collections strike "USS Lincoln" America in the region does not result in the desired role, they believe that Washington send more reinforcements , intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance aircraft march and march To the region, the willingness to confront the "missile force" enjoyed by Iran, which can threaten the security of the region, especially Saudi Arabia in particular.
The CSIS brief assesses the Iranian threat to Saudi Arabia by answering several questions:
- What kinds of strategies, tactics, and capabilities could Iran use against Riyadh?
- What are the potential weaknesses in Saudi infrastructure?
- What can the United States do to defend it against Iranian attacks?
Some military sources in Washington have acknowledged the report's authenticity, especially as Iran continues to use its terrorist groups on a small scale and without expanding the scope of the attacks.
The
report says Washington should initiate pre-emptive attacks that deter some 2,500 Iranian missiles capable of striking deep into Saudi Arabia and deterring Iranian strikes through proportionate offensive actions in response to any Iranian aggression.

The report attributes its focus to Saudi Arabia as a potential battleground, as Riyadh and Tehran are the main rivals for regional influence, especially since the available information suggests that Iran has many capabilities that threaten Saudi Arabia's vital infrastructure and maritime assets.
It is considered that all the territory of Saudi Arabia is threatened by Iranian missiles, and the number of Iranian missiles capable of reaching the country will exceed any missile defense system currently in place.

The largest ballistic missile force in the Middle East
and adds the Center for Strategic and International Studies that Iran maintains the largest ballistic missile force in the Middle East, capable of hitting targets within a 2500 km from the border.
He points out that Iran continues to make and improve missiles in terms of range, speed and destruction, and can use its highly mobile road-force missile to target vital infrastructure in Saudi Arabia and other Gulf states.

oil fields

The main targets Iran could strike, according to the report, are the Saudi oil fields , Ras Tanura Port, Ras Al Khaimah and Abqaiq terminal to Yanbu, on the Red Sea, which are within the range of Iran's medium-range ballistic missiles.
The report reveals that in the past two years, experts in the light and sophisticated missile industries have come from China, Russia and North Korea to help the Iranians develop their ballistic missile production.
Iran's ballistic missile stockpile
also points out that Iran has a range of liquid-propellant ballistic missiles, the Shehab, which can hit targets between 300 and 2,000 km.
Tehran also owns the Jawhar range of missiles, and features improved remote navigation and guidance components such as Qiyam, Ghadr and Emad.
Iran is a domestically designed solid-fuel missile, a group of Fatah missiles with a range of 200 to 2,000 kilometers. According to military sources, it is designed according to Chinese technology. Iran
also has ground-based cruise missiles such as Sumar and Mishkah, with a range of about 2,500 km, a light Fateh with a range of 300 km, and a Zulvagger with a range of 700 km, which can, According to the report, any target was hit in Saudi Arabia and the Gulf states. The report concludes that there has been no official response from the Pentagon in this regard that the policymakers in Washington have the wisdom and the ability to challenge and confrontation, but they have not so far paired their words with their actions.

Mostly thats it since they believe their nuclear weapon support facilities are untouchable  since they are deep i side a couple of mountains .

Newspaper: Saudi Arabia knocked on the door of Iraq to buy oil after the attack "Aramco"

Posted: 19.09.2019 | 11:27 GMT |money and business

Saudi Arabia has reached out to international partners, including Iraq, in a bid to make up for the oil shortage caused by the attack on Aramco, The Wall Street Journal reported on Thursday.

Saudi Arabia, after attacking two Aramco facilities at Abqaiq and Khurais, which halted half of its oil exports, was forced to boost its reputation as a credible exporter of black gold globally to boost its exports at the expense of dedicated oil, the paper quoted oil brokers as saying. To meet their internal needs.

Aramco, shortly after Saturday's attack, turned to the global market to explore opportunities to acquire oil products, including diesel, gasoline and fuel oil, in much larger quantities than usual, a move believed to be aimed at filling gaps in its domestic needs, brokers said.

The paper also quoted two people familiar with the matter as saying that Saudi Arabia resorted to the Iraqi state oil marketing company "Somo" request to provide 20 million barrels of crude oil in order to support its internal refineries.

Aramco declined to comment on the issue, while Vice President of "Somo" crude oil sales, Ali Nizar Shater, the existence of any contacts in this regard between the two companies, according to the newspaper.

Saudi Arabia has also been forced to make changes to the types of crude oil it offers to its international customers. Aramco has told Indian refineries that it cannot currently supply standard Arabian light crude and proposed replacing it with lower-grade heavy crude.

Aramco has replaced five shipments of light Arab crude, two of which are for China, with heavy crude from its warehouses in Ras Tanura, in addition to canceling the scheduled loading of a Norwegian tanker in Samra Ahmed, said Khamal Ahmed, a crude oil analyst at Kpler. Ras Tanura yesterday.

Brokers pointed out that the reduction of supplies of Arab light oil from Saudi Arabia has prompted at least two international competitors to the Kingdom, namely the UAE and Qatar, to offer alternatives to international customers, and the United States can also fill any gap in this area, especially as two new pipelines link between the field Large oil in Texas and New Mexico and ports bordering the Mexican Gulf are increasing their capabilities in this area.
