provincial council member Khader Muslim said on Saturday that the government instead of solving the problem of Mandali port trip, while noting that the closure of the port will evaporate 25% of its revenues delivered to the local government.
Muslim said in an interview with the reporter / Mawazine News / "The closure of Mandali port is a natural reaction to the rumors of news of control of the influential and the entry of militants and smuggling operations taking place in the port."
He considered that "the closure of the port carried over to the problem and not solved and this indicates the inability of the federal government to solve the problems, and it is working to deport them and escape forward, instead of addressing the issue it is canceling the project completely, (I mean if many accidents became cars, the government cancels the progress Cars on the street instead of regulating traffic). "
He pointed out, "The closure leads to the evaporation of 25% of the revenues of Mandali port delivered to the local government, which was capable of completing a number of small service projects, and we believe that the closest solution is" to invest Mandali and Mandhriya implementers without the need to close one at the expense of the other and bring Investment companies to manage the outlets and the distribution of tasks to the executors to run the labor first and increase revenues secondly and develop the work of the ports third.

And quality. ”
Al-Khazali said, `` Border ports today suffer from the lack of a measuring and control device at the ports, so corrupt and poor goods enter and the central government should speed up the development of measuring and control devices for goods and activate the customs system, as the Committee will seek to enter the imports of the ports within the next budget. BAGHDAD -
The file of Iraq's land ports with Iran and Turkey, within the borders of the Kurdistan region, to the forefront again, portending a new crisis between Baghdad and Erbil, where the federal government accuses officials in the region not to deliver the revenues of the ports, as well as causing corruption in the introduction of goods Corrupt and poor for markets.
A senior official said that "the government has not received any response from officials in Erbil about subjecting the land outlets with Turkey and Iran to control and the delivery of revenues to the federal government, like the rest of the country's outlets in Basra or Anbar."
The official added, "Officials in the regional government are procrastinating on the file just as in the case of their disavowal of the payment of oil revenues as stated in the budget agreement this year," likely that "the crisis will intensify after the start of the second legislative term in early September, where members intend to The Parliament shall collect signatures to summon the Minister of Finance and other officials for questioning regarding oil, port revenues and the mechanism and controls of its operation, including the value or percentage of the customs tariff and the type of goods allowed to enter the country.
He pointed out that "the violations were monitored in the ports of the region, which caused the import of corrupt or inferior goods, as happened with the flooding of the market with imported eggs and the resulting heavy losses for Iraqi traders and poultry farmers, and led to the layoffs of many low-income workers."
The government official said that "political courtesies behind Baghdad incurred significant losses at the expense of financial benefits and gains to the government of Erbil, which represents an injustice to other cities such as Basra, Baghdad, Mosul and Kirkuk."
Baghdad's accusations coincide with mounting criticism of the region because of the delay in the delivery of the proceeds of the sale of 250 thousand barrels of oil per day to Baghdad, despite the agreement in the budget in 2019, which requires the Kurdistan government to deliver these revenues, to enter into Iraq's annual imports, provided that Baghdad is committed to pay dues The region within the general budget like the rest of the provinces of the state.
The KRG has six major land trade outlets with both Turkey and Iran, responsible for supplying about 50 percent of Iraqi Kurdistan's food, construction, and other items such as auto spare parts, medicines, and furniture, as well as many goods that Iraq generally imports from its northern neighbor. And eastern.
Some of the region's most prominent outlets with Iran include Haji Omran, Bashmakh, Pervez Khan, and Kermak, in addition to other small outlets used for the movement of passengers and simple goods such as Kelly, Shoshmi, Tawila and Sheikh Saleh. And "Bishta".
With Turkey, two outlets, the first is Ibrahim Khalil, the main trade.
Iraq also has another outlet with Syria and is located within the Kurdistan region known as "Simalka", but it has been closed since the tense situation in Syria.
The volume of trade exchange through the ports between 12 to 16 billion dollars annually, and the majority of goods go to Baghdad and other cities south, central and west of the country.
