Member of the House of Representatives Qusay Abbas, pointed out that "the first legislative year was good, but it is not the level of ambition, yet we expect a second legislative year witnessing a movement to assess the performance of the government basically."

"The House of Representatives has taken good steps, despite its slowness due to the non-naming of the committees' presidents and because of the delay in naming the ministers and the government, but we hope in the coming legislative year that there will be a good start and benefit from the mistakes that accompanied the legislation And control in the first legislative year ".
"The laws that have been enacted are not ambitious and we are waiting for important bills that affect the lives of citizens, such as the Social Security Law, the salary, service and retirement legislation and the oil and gas law that has remained on the council's shelves since previous sessions."
Abbas added that "in the coming legislative year will be approved dozens of bills that concern the life of the citizen, which was read first and second reading, as well as the oversight role of the Parliament to monitor the institutions of the state and ministries," noting that "mobility will increase especially with the issue of resolving the files and special grades The coming legislative year will witness a stronger movement than the first legislative year. "
"The first legislative year witnessed the vote on most laws, especially with the extension of the legislative term for a month," said Khalil al-Mawla, a member of parliament. "The vote on the provincial councils law is one of the most prominent features of this chapter."

"

The role of the opposition
For his part, among the member of the House of Representatives, Asad al-Marshadi, "The performance of the parliament at this year's level is mediocre because of the lack of laws legislator," noting that "the second year of the parliament will see movement to assess the work of the government and the dismissal of the defaulters."
Al-Morshedi told al-Sabah: "The second chapter of the first year was not ambitious, because there is nothing that has been legislated except for the provincial councils law, which is considered an important law. The parliament has not submitted anything during this year, either in monitoring the government, Legislation of important laws ".
"As an opposition, what is important to us is the regulatory aspect and the legislation of the important laws, but what is more important is the government's monitoring and its government program, and five ministers will be questioned after the end of this chapter," he said.
