Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said on Wednesday that the global dollar confrontation has begun in earnest.

Yes Rouhani the war has started but what they failed to tell you is that you are going to lose that war miserably.  You will regret that you ever spoke those words I promise.

You might be right. We might destroy Iran toe to toe... But when the world drops the dollar as the reserve currency, Americans are going to feel real pain. I don't think many people understand what a reserve currency is and what petro-dollar means. If the world stops using the dollar, you will need a wheel barrel to carry your cash to buy a loaf of bread. China, Russia, Iran and others want off the dollar. If they ever pull it off, Americans will be picking fruit for their farmers.

I'm not trying to bash. And I certainly do not trust China and Russia is not our buddy. They are out to destroy us and our leaders better see the light before they really see the light.

You are total right BA.  We still have a number of economic weapons we have not brought out of the closet yet. We are the best looking house in a decaying neighborhood. All debt based systems/countries continue to drink the KoolAid. When we hurt the rest of them hurt twice as bad it is all relative. Our money supply is totally out of control with QE and derivatives.  Problem is, so is everyone else. The global financial system is all interconnected via the central banks. Everyone is exposed including the two countries you mentioned. Cheers........ appreciate your comments and enjoy the conversation👍

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
Tehran said on Tuesday it rejected British Prime Minister Boris Johnson's remarks about new negotiations over Iran's nuclear program, as well as its adherence to its missile programs.
"The statement by British Prime Minister Boris Jenson is very serious and a clear violation of the nuclear agreement, in particular resolution 2231 of the UN Security Council," the Foreign Office said in a statement.
Regarding the Iranian missile program, the Foreign Ministry said that "all Iranian missile tests are commensurate with the threats surrounding the Islamic Republic and come within the nuclear agreement, especially resolution 2231 of the UN Security Council and the United Nations.
The US special envoy for Iran, Brian Hawk, announced that the United States called on the UN Security Council to extend the arms embargo against Iran, which expires after 12 months.
"We would like the Security Council to extend the arms embargo and the ban on people," Hawk said on the sidelines of the 74th session of the UN General Assembly in New York on Monday.

US President: significant sanctions on the Iranian central after the Aramco attack
US President Donald Trump
 24 September 2019 05:43 PM

RIYADH - US President Donald Trump has said that his country has imposed significant sanctions on Iran's central bank after the Aramco attack.

In his speech to the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, Trump said Iran was one of the first countries to sponsor terrorism in the world and should be prevented from acquiring nuclear weapons.

He continued: "We must prevent Iran's destabilizing behavior and we will work to tighten sanctions on Tehran . "

The US president said Tehran was funding conflicts inside Syria and Yemen, and the Iranian regime launched attacks in various places.

"The repressive regime in Iran rejects peace and is one of the biggest threats we face today among the first countries that support terrorism."

"America is the biggest power in the world and I hope we don't have to use it," Trump said.

"It's time for Iran's leaders to stop threatening their neighbors . "

"We seek harmony and peace around the world, not wars without end," he said.

It came under Saudi Aramco, a terrorist attack on Saturday , 14 September 2019 led to the decline in crude oil supplies by about 5.7 million barrels, representing almost 50 percent of the company 's production before returning to normal after two days of the incident; according to previous statements by the Saudi energy minister , Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman .

The Saudi cabinet said on Tuesday that the international community had a heavy responsibility to put an end to Iran's disruptive acts and policies.

The Council of Ministers pointed out that the sabotage attack on the oil facilities in Abqaiq and Khurais, and the use of Iranian weapons in it is a threat to international peace and security, and unjustified aggression on energy supplies to world markets strongly condemned the international community.

Pompeo accuses Iran of creating chaos by supporting Shi'ite militias in Iraq

"The attack on Aramco is an attack on the global economy," US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo said, accusing Iran of creating chaos by supporting Shiite militias in Iraq.

"Iran is the aggressor and not a victim in any way," he said on Wednesday at a symposium titled "Union Against Iran's Nuclear".

Pompeo accused Tehran of "creating chaos by supporting Assad, the Houthis in Yemen and Shiite militias in Iraq."

He pointed out that with the "start of the strategy of US President Donald Trump, against Tehran, we stopped the profits of Iran and increased pressure on the regime."

He called on US officials to "put the interests of the people first."

He noted that Washington has imposed "severe sanctions on the Iranian Revolutionary Guards," adding that "the world recognizes the seriousness of the United States."

He hinted that "US pressure on Iran prompted them to begin attempts to sabotage the region."

"Sanctions and international attitudes make Iran and its militias more isolated around the world," he said.

He said that "Iran is lying, and the allegations of Iranian President Hassan Rouhani about Tehran's defeat of terrorism are strange."

Rouhani described as "miserable", stressing that "Tehran only responds to force."

"A large number of countries have shown their readiness to confront Iran's threat to navigation and international security," Pompeo said.

"US diplomacy has drawn the attention of the international community to Iran's threat to peace," he said.

Iraq Considers US Sanctions on Iran Illegitimate: Envoy

TEHRAN (Tasnim) – The Iraqi ambassador to Tehran said his country does not recognize the US sanctions against Iran as valid and that is why Iraq has come under American pressures.

Iraq Considers US Sanctions on Iran Illegitimate: Envoy

In an interview with Tasnim, Sa'ad Jawad Qandil said Iraq does not recognize the US sanctions on Iran or their legitimacy, adding that, as a reason, the Arab country has come under pressures from the US.

The envoy said the unilateral US sanctions have created problems for trade between Baghdad and Tehran.

Qandil noted that the sanctions have affected Iraq’s imports of gas and electricity from Iran by hampering the payment mechanisms.

The Baghdad government has devised plans to pay off its outstanding debts to Iran, the ambassador said, adding that the central banks of the two countries have launched talks to that end.

He said one of the proposals for settling the debts and maintaining trade with Iran is to establish a so-called “Iraqi INSTEX”, noting that the channel would provide Iran with humanitarian supplies.

According to Qandil, another solution to bypass the US restrictions and keep trade with Iran is to use the Iraqi dinar or currencies other than the US dollar for trade.

Back in February, the governor of the Central Bank of Iran unveiled plans for using non-dollar accounts for oil and gas trade with Iraq.

In December 2018, Chairman of Iran-Iraq Chamber of Commerce Yahya Ale-Eshaq said the central banks of Iran and Iraq were finalizing negotiations to begin trade in their own currencies.

Iraq’s Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Al-Hakim has made it clear that his country cannot cut off trade ties with Iran under the US sanctions, saying the value of annual trade between Iran and Iraq amounts to $12 billion.

Trump wants to go beyond that deal to further curb Iran’s nuclear program, halt its ballistic missile work and end its support for proxy forces in the Middle East

US tightens the vise by blacklisting Chinese firms for dealing in Iranian oil despite US sanctions

UNITED NATIONS: Iranian President Hassan Rouhani demanded on Wednesday that the United States “pay more” for any agreement that goes beyond the 2015 Iran nuclear deal that Washington abandoned.

Rouhani also rejected meeting US President Donald Trump while the two are in New York this week for the annual United Nations General Assembly, but both US and Iranian officials suggested they have some interest in a negotiation.

It remains unclear how one might happen given Tehran’s demand that Washington first ease sanctions that have blighted its economy and the US imposition of fresh penalties as part of its “maximum pressure” campaign.

“Our response to talks under pressure is ‘No,’” Rouhani said in a speech to the General Assembly even as the United States tightened the vise by blacklisting Chinese firms for dealing in Iranian oil despite US sanctions.

The US-Iranian confrontation has ratcheted up since last year, when Trump withdrew from Iran’s nuclear deal with major powers and reimposed sanctions that have crippled the Islamic republic’s economy.

Trump wants to go beyond that deal to further curb Iran’s nuclear program, halt its ballistic missile work and end its support for proxy forces in the Middle East.

“If you wish more, if you require more, you should give and pay more,” Rouhani said in his General Assembly address, without giving details.

In his own speech on Tuesday, Trump accused Iranian leaders of “bloodlust” and called on other nations to put pressure on Iran after Sept. 14 attacks on Saudi oil facilities that Washington blames on Tehran despite its denials.

The United States plans to increase its military presence in Saudi Arabia following the attacks.

Rouhani, however, said the Gulf region is “on the edge of collapse, as a single blunder can fuel a big fire,” and vowed to respond “decisively and strongly” to any foreign violation of its security or territorial integrity.

Trump had said there was still a path to peace and Rouhani has left the door open to diplomacy, saying that if sanctions were lifted, Washington could join nuclear talks between Tehran and other powers.

“We want a peaceful resolution with the Islamic Republic of Iran,” US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo told reporters, saying it was up to Iran. “We hope we get the opportunity to negotiate with them.”

The United States has also been reaching out to Iranian officials to discuss the fate of American nationals held in Iran, a US State Department official said on Wednesday.

No Trump-Rouhani meeting seen

Despite French and British leaders urging Rouhani to sit down with Trump, an Iranian official told Reuters there was no chance the US and Iranian presidents would meet this week.

“The chances of a meeting are zero. They know what to do,” the official said. The official said the United States should return to the 2015 deal, lift sanctions and end the maximum pressure campaign.

Under that deal, Iran limited its nuclear program in return for relief from economic sanctions that constricted its ability to trade with the world.

After abandoning the deal, Trump in May tightened sanctions on Iran in an effort to reduce its oil exports — its main source of foreign exchange and government revenues — to zero.

On Wednesday, the United States sanctioned five Chinese people and six entities it accused of knowingly transferring oil from Iran in violation of Washington’s curbs on Tehran. The entities include two Cosco Shipping subsidiaries but not the parent company itself.

“This is one of the largest sanctions actions the United States has taken against entities and individuals identified as transporting Iranian oil since our sanctions were re-imposed in November 2018,” Pompeo said in a statement on the move.

While it at first fully adhered to the deal despite Trump’s withdrawal, Iran has gradually reduced its compliance and has threatened to block the Strait of Hormuz in the Gulf, through which an estimated one-fifth of the world’s oil passes.

The United States has blamed Iran for a series of actions since May — some of which Iran has denied - that have roiled oil markets, including attacks on half a dozen tankers, shooting down a US drone and the Sept. 14 attacks on Aramco facilities.

The air strikes on the heartland of Saudi Arabia’s oil industry damaged the world’s biggest petroleum-processing facility and knocked out more than 5% of global oil supply.

“This cannot go unanswered, there has to be consequences for Iran for what they did,” Saudi Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Adel Al-Jubeir said. He said Riyadh was consulting others and that its options included diplomatic and economic steps.

The United States, European powers and Saudi Arabia have blamed the attack on Iran, instead of the Yemeni Iran-aligned Houthi group, which claimed responsibility. Iran distanced itself from the attacks but said it was ready for “full-fledged” war.

In the penultimate sentence of his UN speech, Rouhani raised the possibility of talks.

“This is the message of the Iranian nation: Let’s invest on hope towards a better future rather than in war and violence,” he said. “Let’s return to justice; to peace; to law, commitment and promise and finally to the negotiating table.”

Washington imposes sanctions on Chinese companies to import Iranian oil

Washington imposes sanctions on Chinese companies to import Iranian oil

 26 September 2019 11:46 AM
Mubasher : The United States has decided to impose sanctions on Chinese companies for their participation in oil imports from Iran.

US Secretary of State Mike Bimbo said in remarks on Wednesday that the sanctions are in response to violations of US sanctions unilateral, according to "Agence France-Presse."

"Sanctions have been applied to both companies and chief executives. They are part of a major economic pressure campaign against the Iranian regime, which enables them to be destabilizing."

Bombo stressed that Washington would intensify efforts to educate both countries and companies about the dangers of doing business with Iran's Revolutionary Guards, and "we will punish them if they insist on defying our warnings."

The US Secretary of State: "We are applying sanctions on certain Chinese companies, for deliberately participating in large oil transfers from Iran."

Two subsidiaries of China's Cosoco, a leading shipping company, were among the companies that were sanctioned and blacklisted, although no decisions were made against the parent company.

Trump has refused to lift sanctions against Iran for talks

 27 September 2019 06:04 PM
From: Ahmed Shawky

Direct US President Donald Trump rejected the idea of lifting sanctions on Iran to hold talks between the United States and Iran.

The president said in a tweet via "Twitter", on Friday: "Iran asked me to remove the sanctions imposed on them in order to hold a meeting, but I refused, of course."

Iranian President Hassan Rouhani claimed in remarks today that the United States has offered to cancel all sanctions against Iran in exchange for negotiations, while Trump's remarks deny it.

The US State Department denied Rouhani's remarks, pointing to them as "baseless" as Washington remains committed to halting Iranian oil exports.

The comments came after a period of political tensions, the latest of which was the attack on Saudi Aramco facilities, which he blamed on Iran.

The United States decided to increase sanctions on Iran after the incident, imposing restrictions on the National Bank of Iran.

Zero hour approaches... Europe to withdraw from Iranian nuclear deal, join Trump

920192815253542210742

US President Donald Trump said on Wednesday he had rejected Iran's demand for sanctions to be held in exchange for talks, contradicting earlier statements by Iranian President Hassan Rouhani. The European Union has reportedly threatened to withdraw from a nuclear deal with Iran.

France, Britain, and Germany warned Iran on Wednesday that it would be forced to withdraw from the nuclear deal in November if Tehran continued to take a new step after three steps it has taken since May to cut back its obligations in the nuclear agreement, the Guardian quoted informed sources as saying on Wednesday.

On the other hand, the Iranian president said that the European leaders participating in the United Nations summit in New York said that Washington was ready to lift sanctions in exchange for talks on the nuclear agreement signed in 2015.

Rouhani added in a statement quoted by state television and reported by the French Press Agency: «German Chancellor the British Prime Minister and the French President were there (in New York). "They insisted that this meeting happen and that America also says it will lift the sanctions."

The response of the US president, who confirmed in a tweet on Twitter, that he never made such an offer. "Iran wanted to lift sanctions against it for a meeting," Trump wrote: "I said, of course, no!"

Assistant Secretary for Near Eastern Affairs David Schenker said there was international coordination to pressure Iran to prevent it from escalating further in the region.

Speaking on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly in New York, Schenker said that the investigation into the September 14 attacks on Saudi Aramco facilities would soon come to an end. The results would be submitted to the Security Council, so the international community must take a decision towards these Iranian actions.

The Assistant Secretary of State pointed out to a new round of sanctions will be taken by the US administration in the coming period against entities supporting Hezbollah in Lebanon.

The state of escalation is continuing and the zero hours to strike Iran is approaching
