Dear ( I DO mean it) buddy LGD.........Are you really sure they're being brain washed  and that's done by what you call "perverted college professors"? Only due to the fact those in particular are expressing their  left-wingness?

 

Would you deem / judge  them the same way if they were right-wing brainwashed  ( and talking rightwing stuff) by "perverted college professors" who might mold their thoughts and reasoning completely on the conservative, right or very-right wing stances and way of life? Nicely stated.  While I do agree there are some that push socialism and ways of thinking that I don't agree with (even outside of politics) , I agree both side should be heard in order to make an informed decision.  Right, wrong or otherwise.  For every person that you say is brainwashed, there is another person saying  that about you as well.  The other person is always wrong if they don't agree with you.  Just ask me and I'll tell you. LOL

That would be the exception and even then there should not be an obvious bias to one side or the other.  Or if there is the course description should say it.

What do you mean by exception?.....almost every university in the country offers Degrees in Political Science.

The exception would be that it (Political Science) would be the only class that politics should be discussed and taught without bias.

Okay....that makes sense.  I personally believe students should find their own voices with regards to politics.  Most people inherently know the difference between right and wrong and will choose accordingly based on how they feel about individual contentious issues.

I agree...I have an obligation  to that if I want to try and be intellectually honest

 

Then I do think also that being all the teachers human individuals...As hard as they may try...There will always be a part ( howmuch big /  small only depends on them) of their teaching being more or less biased....

 

Complete objectivity never existed ( as far as I know) and it never will..But one must try...Talk with more folks, reading more books etc.....Open the mind toward whatever ( in that I mean opening mind toward the opposite of what they used to believe until the day before...and then form their own thoughts)

 

Surely a teacher is supposed to be the least biased as humanly possible...

 

Or even better....But I think that's still impossible...Maybe it will change one day in the future....

Having not one  but 2 teachers who talk / teach about local, nation-wide and world-wide politics...Each of them representing the 2 sides / extremes....

 

Would be imho the epitome of Democracy ( if that was ever possible which I strongly doubt....)

 

But I know there are schools ( usually private, therefore costly) which are known for having a clear reputation about their political views/stances in a way or the other  ( the teaching body views, I mean...and the school tradition....)

 

 

I went to private school here and also to public school...The difference is or at least used to be huge in terms of mentality...I'll get back to it some other time
