I did not call you a name. The word idiotic is an adjective to describe what you posted. Here maybe this will help,

Definition of idiotic

1: characterized by idiocy
2: showing complete lack of thought or common sense

BA, if you really want to contrast the differences between capitalism and socialism/communism, get rid of the Castros and let the country experience some freedom. Allow companies and investment capital to enter and watch that place turn back into the paradise it once was. We can only hope one day that happens.

Sounds like it applies also to the supporters and enablers for the Democratic Party and anti Trumpers. Both who hate the man but are

enjoying the results of his policies.

Fair enough....I don't really see any difference in my daily life though....healthcare still rising, just as it was under Obama and every president before him.....fuel prices rising and fluctuating, just as it did under Obama and every president before him, infrastructure bill still unattainable, migrants still dying and yet pouring in at record numbers, because of Trump's rhetoric they feel it's now or never.....farmers hurting with bill collectors not willing to wait for red tape held up subsidies....Iran wants to kill us now more than ever while Trump desperately seeks a way to put the deal back in place so he can claim a political win....stock market still rising and fluctuating, just as it did under Obama, though the fluctuations good and bad were less intense....radicals, left and right, are growing as the division among Americans increases....but yeah, your assessment is fair enough coming from your political leanings.

GO RV, then BV

I totally agree... We need to drop the McCarthyism policies and open the doors... We will be one of the last nations to enjoy the benefits of the wealthy's playground just 90 miles off our coast, when it does open up. The rest of the world is already vacationing there while we sit here being scared by yet another boogieman.

Fidel died in 2016....

Raul  Castro  stepped down as President on 19 April 2018, but remains the first secretary of the Communist Party, still holding considerable influence over government policy.

The current President is Miguel Mario Díaz-Canel Bermúdez

You say  "watch that place turn back into the paradise it once was"...No comment...You and I both have the right to think differently on the matter

Respecting each other points of view, of course...Wanted just to say I've visited there about 7 or 8 times...NEVER staying in a hotel but renting a room in families's houses or renting small apts. as I preferred giving my money directly to Cuban folks rather than to the State ( although those with that kind of business have to pay a tax , like in most countries...Nothing to feel scandalized about, me thinks...)

About your fully-entled comment " it will remain a shiite hole"....That's not what I personally perceived......True I have only visited 7/8 times  ( different cities) and maybe If I'd visit more I might come to that conclusion myself.....Howmany times di you visit, Md?

It's clear ( and it'd be stupid and senseless denying that) that Cuba has a lot of problems ...I'd rather not  dig back on the causes as I know that would lead us to strong debates and arguments most likely completely useless in that  each of us would stick to their convictions about all that.....So......I'll only say it has been excluded from the main money institutions and has enormous difficulties in asking for Int'l loans  ( other than making deals with single Nations of course)
