{Euphrates News} published the terms of the agreement at the meeting of the Council of Trade Agreement between Iraq and America
The second meeting of the Council of Trade and Investment Framework Agreement between Iraq and the United States was held in Washington, DC, in accordance with the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement signed between the two countries in 2005.
The joint statement, received by the {Euphrates News} copy, that the Council was headed by Commerce Minister Mohammed Hashim al-Ani and Deputy US Trade Representative Jeffrey Kirsch. 
During the meeting, Iraq and the United States discussed a number of bilateral issues on trade and investment. The cooperation between Iraq and the United States in these areas aims at enhancing Iraq's entry into the global economy and finding ways to enhance greater opportunities for mutual exchange between the two countries, thus creating jobs and attracting investment for both countries.
In this regard, the United States expressed its support for Iraq's decision to re-enter the WTO accession process and to ensure local reforms required to meet the Organization's obligations as well as the liberalization of tariffs and trade in services. The United States also expressed its support for Iraq's decision to accept tax returns prepared in accordance with international financial standards. 
In order to attract foreign direct investment in priority areas, Iraq recognized the need for a strong and appropriate investment environment with transparent systems. 
Iraq has assured the United States that it will issue 12-month entry visas to US citizens and that the National Investment Authority will facilitate visits by US investors by granting them six-month visas issued by a special visa office at the airport.
In the meantime, the Commission is working on the implementation of a single window system to facilitate and facilitate procedures as well as working with the Ministry of Finance and the World Bank to improve the performance of Iraqi banks and strengthen their role in support of small and medium enterprises. 
The Iraqi government is also working through the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) to implement a one-stop shop for business registration that will reduce the challenges faced by investors. 
To improve mutual and bilateral market access, the United States has raised the issue of reducing unnecessary documentation requirements and adopting international standards.
The United States also encouraged Iraq to reduce its tariffs on poultry. Iraq and the United States also discussed the importation of rice and wheat and transparent bidding procedures for cereals in Iraq under two memorandums of understanding. In order to increase the procurement of medicines, medical equipment and equipment, Iraq and the United States are cooperating to conclude a memorandum of understanding.

BAGHDAD / The obelisk: The US Embassy announced on Tuesday, June 18, 2019, the issuance of Iraq investment facilities for US companies and citizens, while confirming support and Washington to enter Iraq to the World Trade Organization.

The embassy said in a statement to the "obelisk" that "the capital Washington hosted the second session of the meeting of the Council of Trade and Investment Framework Agreement between Iraq and the United States, which stems from the framework of trade and investment signed between the two countries in 2005."

"Iraq and the United States discussed a number of bilateral issues on trade and investment during the meeting," she said. "The aim of the meeting is to enhance Iraq's entry into the world economy and find ways to enhance greater opportunities for mutual exchanges between the two countries."

"The United States expressed its support for Iraq's decision to re-enter the WTO accession process and to ensure local reforms required to meet the Organization's obligations, as well as tariff liberalization and trade in services. The United States expressed its support for Iraq's decision to accept tax returns International financial standards ".

She pointed out that "Iraq through the National Investment Authority facilitate the visits of US investors through granting them multiple entry visas for 6 months issued by a special office for issuing visas working at the airport, as well as the implementation of a single window system to facilitate and facilitate procedures, as well as work with the Ministry of Finance and the Bank In addition to that Iraq will issue 12-month entry visas to US citizens. "

The Iraqi government confirmed to its US counterpart at a meeting of the second session of the Council of Trade and Investment Framework Agreement between Iraq and the United States that Iraq intends to provide 12-month visas to US citizens.
"As part of the promotion of attracting foreign direct investment (FDI), Iraq will issue 12-month multiple entry visas to US citizens, as well as the National Investment Authority (NIA), facilitating visits by US investors," the statement said. Granting them multiple entry visas for six months, issued by a special visa issuing office, working at the airport. " 
It is worth mentioning that the meeting of the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement between the two countries in 2005 witnessed further discussions on customs tariffs and tax returns, before the parties announce their commitment to the need for economic progress before the next meeting.

Washington, D.C. – On the 14th of June 2019, the second session of the United States-Iraq Trade and Investment Council convened in Washington, D.C., which was established under the Trade and Investment Framework Agreement signed between the two countries in 2005.  The Council was co-chaired by Iraq Minister of Trade Dr. Mohammed Hashim Al-Ani and Deputy U.S. Trade Representative Jeffrey Gerrish.

The head of the US Chamber of Commerce for the Middle East, Staff Lotus, Thursday, Washington's pursuit of an advanced commercial partnership with Iraq in all areas. 
The media office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Mohammed Halboussi, said in a statement received by Mawazine News that "the latter received the Vice-President of the American Chamber of Commerce for the Middle East, Mr. Lotus," noting that "the meeting discussed ways to strengthen trade relations between US and Iraqi companies And expand the partnership between them, as well as the deployment of commercial agencies in line with the economic policy of Iraq and its approach to openness to all international markets. 
He called Halbusi, "the entry of US companies and investors in the areas of health, energy and agriculture." 
For his part, the Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce, "the pursuit of an advanced commercial partnership with Iraq in all areas."

Speaker of the Chamber of Deputies Mohammed Al Halbusi received on Thursday Vice-President of the US Chamber of Commerce for the Middle East, Mr. Steff Lotus.

During the meeting, King Abdullah discussed ways of boosting trade relations between the US and Iraqi companies, expanding the partnership between them, as well as the deployment of commercial agencies in line with the economic policy of Iraq and its approach to opening up to all international markets. He also called for American companies and investors to enter the fields of health, energy and agriculture.

For his part, Vice President of the American Chamber of Commerce on the pursuit of an advanced commercial partnership with Iraq in all areas.
