Jmtranquil:  Mahdi has threatened his resignation since Nov 2018; so, it was expected. And, if Sadr has any say, i would think and hope this "transition" of power has been well mapped out to ensure the Economic Reforms that Sadr has been pushing for quite some time now are handled seanlessly.
KajunRedbull:  Howdy All! Just IMHO, we were told sometime back Abadi would be back. When he stepped down from the Darwi party he became an independent. Now I think this is what The USA has been waiting for. He will step back in as PM and will be able to clean house "After" he announces the RV then go after Maliki and his goons...

Souroun: Abdul-Mahdi aspires to complete his government program

 

The alliance revealed, on Thursday, the reality of the intention of Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi to resign from his post, in the coming days.  The leader of the coalition MP Raed Fahmi said that "the news that talked about the intention of Abdul-Mahdi to resign from his post, is incorrect, but he aspires to complete his government program, according to the time allotted to him." 

Fahmy said that "the publication of such false news, or rumors, behind the Iraqi political parties, and may be behind the outside parties, have certain goals, to broadcast such rumors, there is no truth on the ground."
