The parliament’s foreign relations committee has revealed about an anticipated visit by President Barham Salih to Turkey and Saudi Arabia over the coming few hours.

Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi and Parliament Speaker Mohamed al-Halbousi are expected to pay similar visits.

During a meeting with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, President Barham Salih stressed Iraq's rejection of any unilateral military action beyond its borders, coinciding with the continuation of the Turkish operation in northern Iraq. 
During the talks at the Presidential Palace in Istanbul, Saleh and Erdogan discussed the recent developments and events in the region. "The importance of cooperation and the adoption of a constructive dialogue among all parties to reach political solutions To the current crises and stay away from the language of threats and provocation in order to achieve security and economic stability. " 
"The talks also dealt with reviewing the relations between the two countries and the need to strengthen them so as to widen the horizons of joint cooperation," the statement said.
