This is very important the UN has now taken Iran's side determining the The American Global Hawk Drone shot down by Iran was truly in Iran's Airspace.  Now who is lying?  I'm not sure nor do I trust our intelligence agencies after what they have done to our President.

Peace and Security

There is a need for “genuine regional dialogue” to address rising tensions in the Gulf, Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations said on Monday, calling on Secretary-General António Guterres “to play a role” in bringing countries to the table.

Ambassador Majid Takht Ravanchi, was speaking to reporters outside the Security Council chamber in New York, where a closed-door meeting was being held to discuss the deteriorating relations between the United States, and Iran, which has also ratcheted up tension with Iran’s regional rival Saudi Arabia, and its allies.

Iran’s Permanent Representative said he had asked to take part in the meeting, but the request had been refused. He blamed the US, a Permanent Member of the 15-member body. He said that Iran wanted “neither war, nor an escalation of tension” in the region.

“The US decision today, to impose more sanctions against Iran is yet another indication of continued US hostility against the Iranian people and their leaders”, he said. “To ease tensions in the broader Persian Gulf region, the US must stop its military adventurism in our region, as well as its economic war”.

US officials have said that Iran was responsible for two separate incidents in recent weeks, around the Strait of Hormuz and the Gulf of Oman, involving six oil tankers which were damaged. Iran has categorically denied any involvement.

Last week, an unmanned US drone was shot down by the Iranian military over what the US said were international waters in the Gulf, but Ambassador Ravanchi repeated Iran’s assertion on Monday, that the drone had been violating Iranian airspace when it was shot down.

Iran 'was responsible' acting US ambassador

Speaking at the same podium immediately after the closed meeting, the acting US Ambassador, Jonathan Cohen, told reporters that “it’s clear to us, and it should be to the world, that Iran was responsible for the May 12 and June 13 attacks against ships in the Persian Gulf. Such attacks pose a serious threat to the freedom of navigation and commerce in one of the world’s most important waterways.”

Mr. Cohen said the drone had not entered Iranian airspace but relied on interpreting its position as having been in the country’s “flight information region”, which is “not the same as their airspace”.

“Iran must understand that these attacks are unacceptable. It’s time for the world to join us in saying so. Our policy remains an economic and diplomatic effort to bring Iran back to the negotiating table.” Earlier, the Iranian Ambassador had said that his country would not hold talks with the US while punitive sanctions continued, along with intimidation and threats.

‘Nerves of steel’ are needed: Guterres

Asked earlier at the regular noon briefing for reporters at UN Headquarters, to comment on the continuing tensions around the Gulf region, the UN’s Deputy Spokesperson Farhan Haq said that the Secretary‑General “has made clear his concerns, both about the recent incidents and also the rhetoric from various quarters.”

He’s made it clear that it would be a catastrophe to have any escalation in the Gulf region”, added Mr. Haq. “He has urged all sides to show nerves of steel, and he is continuing to maintain that, and he wants to make sure that they take steps to avoid any further sorts of provocation.”

Security Council urge all countries to ‘exercise maximum restraint’

After the closed-door talks, Ambassador Mansour Al-Otaibi of Kuwait, which holds the Council’s presidency for the month of June, read out an informal statement on behalf of the 15-member body condemning the attacks on oil tankers in the Gulf, saying they represented a “serious threat to maritime navigation and energy supply” as well as being a threat to international peace and security.

“The Council members urge concerned parties and all countries in the region to exercise maximum restraint and take measures and actions to reduce escalation and end tension,” he said.

The statement called for differences to be addressed “peacefully and through dialogue”.

Trump's decisions and decisions dominate global markets today

Trump's decisions and decisions dominate global markets today

From: Ahmed Shawky

Direct : topped the decisions and statements by US President Donald Trump is the scene of events in the world markets by the end of trading on Monday, as well as the continuation of gold gains.

At the top of Trump's decisions came his signature to an executive order imposing financial sanctions against Iran's leaders, most notably Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The US president said Washington would continue to press Iran to abandon its nuclear activities.

Trump also asked China, Japan and other countries to protect oil tankers in the Middle East after two crude oil tankers exploded in the Gulf of Oman earlier this month.

In another context, the US president continued his attack on the Fed because of high interest rates, saying: "The Fed does not know what to do."

But at the same time, Trump denied his threat to dismiss Federal President Jerome Powell, while he indicated he could do so if he wanted to.

Global Stock Indices

Dominated the decline on US stocks at the end of today 's session , with anticipation Trump talks squeal at the Group of Twenty summit.

UBS warned that the global economy would not enter the recession if the leaders of the world's two largest economies failed to meet.

US Treasury yields also posted the biggest daily drop in 3 weeks with geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

With geopolitical tensions also between the United States and Iran, European stock indexes closedin red range led by the automotive sector.

In economic data, investor confidence in Germany's economy fell to its lowest level in five years this month.

Japanese stocks rose at the end of the day as the G20 summit awaited.

Gold continues its strong gains

Gold prices continued to gain gains for a third straight session as the yellow metal gained more than $ 18 as geopolitical tensions and the Fed's tendency to adopt a softened policy accelerated.

Blackrock believes that gold prices will continue to rise globally this year as interest rate expectations increase.

Oil prices also rose for a third straight session as the Nymex hit a four-week high with geopolitical tensions.

The al-Bashaer movement on Monday condemned what it described as the abuse directed by US President Donald Trump against Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.
The movement said in a statement that "what was issued by a great insult to one of the religious references respected by the Muslims in general and the Iraqi people in particular is a blatant transgression and is unacceptable."
"There is insistence from the US president and the embassy behind the Zionist desire to provoke the feelings of Iraqis and the tension between the relationship between Baghdad and Washington."
The al-Bashir movement called on the US administration to issue an "official apology" and the Iraqi government "to summon the US ambassador and hand him a strong protest note."

Iran: US sanctions against Khamenei mean ending diplomatic solutions

Iran: US sanctions against Khamenei mean ending diplomatic solutions

 25 June 2019 12:36 PM

Directly : Iran has announced that the application of new US sanctions against the Supreme Supreme Leader to end diplomatic solutions, where he blamed the United States to prevent the only way to peace.

US President Donald Trump yesterday signed an executive order  imposing new financial sanctions on Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The US decision came after an Iranian missile dropped a US aircraft in the Gulf Sea region at the end of last week.

The Trump administration also accused Iran of involvement in the bombing of two oil tankers in the Gulf of Oman last week.

"Trump's desperate administration is destroying international mechanisms to promote world peace and security," the foreign ministry spokesman said on Twitter.

For his part, Iran's President Hassan al-Rowhani said sanctions against Iran's Supreme Leader would have no practical effect because he had no assets abroad.

"Iran's patience does not mean it is scared, and American practice means that the administration is mentally unstable."

Warnings of a war in the Gulf paralyzing the Iraqi economy

BAGHDAD - The Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs, Finance Minister Fuad Hussein, warned on Tuesday (June 25th, 2019) that a war in the Gulf region could cripple the Iraqi economy completely.

"The current situation is very dangerous and tense," Hussein said in a televised interview with the obelisk.

"The tension is related to the geography of Iraq and we are in a state of concern because the war is causing destruction, and recent developments increase this concern, such as the mobilization of forces and military operations, which generates fear of the beginning of a disaster is war, which is a threat to Iraq, the region and the world."

He pointed out that "there are questions about the reactions of other countries and the status of oil and the Strait of Hormuz, because the export of Iraqi oil is mostly through the Gulf and any incident will lead to the cessation of export and the occurrence of an economic problem because the Iraqi economy depends on 90% of it on oil."

"The prime minister put forward mediation between the United States and Iran, and I think that Iraq can play a role in exchanging views. Both sides trust Iraq, but the negotiations depend on the situation of the two countries," he said. There is Japanese, Omani and Swiss mediation. "

Rohani: Washington's sanctions on the guide are proof of Washington's desperation from Tehran

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - Iran's President Hassan Rowhani has condemned the sanctions imposed by the US administration on Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Foreign Minister Mohammad Jawad Zarif, saying they were proof of Washington's "despair" over Tehran.

"American actions against Iran and its leadership are proof of Washington's failure to confront Tehran, and these sanctions will not succeed in subjugating us," Rouhani said.

He added: "US sanctions on the guide is useless because he does not have assets abroad, and the United States can not freeze the money of the guide because it is just a Husseiniya and a simple house in Tehran."

He said that "America is adopting unusual behavior and imposing sanctions on the foreign minister proves its lies about its desire to dialogue with Iran."

Rowhani stressed that "the Iranian airspace is a red line and we will respond to any aggression on it and that the American plane was dropped because it did not respond to several warnings addressed to it."

He pointed out that the Iranian Revolutionary Guard forces shot down the plane with a homemade system. "We dropped the American plane with a local system, not with S-300 missiles," he said.

Iran: US sanctions on Khamenei mean end of diplomacy

Trump said the sanctions would have been imposed regardless of drone attack

Washington has repeatedly imposed sanctions on Tehran since last year

Iran said on Tuesday that a US decision to impose sanctions on the country’s supreme leader and other top officials permanently closed the path to diplomacy between Tehran and Washington.
“Imposing useless sanctions on Iran’s Supreme Leader (Ayatollah Ali Khamenei) and the commander of Iran’s diplomacy (Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif) is the permanent closure of the path of diplomacy,” Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Mousavi said in a tweet.
“Trump’s desperate administration is destroying the established international mechanisms for maintaining world peace and security.”

US President Donald Trump earlier signed an executive order that would impose fresh sanctions on Iran, amid increased tensions between the long-time foes.

Trump initially told reporters the sanctions, which will target Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and his office, were in response to Tehran's downing of a US drone last week. Tehran has said the drone was flying in its airspace, which Washington has denied.

Later, Trump said the sanctions would have been imposed regardless of the incident over the drone.

The US will also blacklist Iran's Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif and block "billions" more in Iranian assets as part of expanded sanctions, US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin said Monday.

Mnuchin told reporters Zarif would be added to an economic sanctions list "later this week," adding that eight top military commanders from Iran's Revolutionary Guards have now also been blacklisted.

The US has also blamed Iran for attacks earlier this month on two oil tankers at the entrance of the Gulf of Oman. Iran, in turn, has denied that it is to blame.

Washington has repeatedly imposed sanctions on Tehran since last year, when the US withdrew from the 2015 Iran nuclear deal to curb Iran's nuclear program in exchange for easing of sanctions. Trump’s administration has said the deal struck under his predecessor President Barack Obama did not do enough.

Trump has said he would be open to talks with Iranian leaders, but Tehran has rejected such an offer unless Washington drops the sanctions.

The Trump administration wants to force Tehran to open talks on its nuclear and missile programmes and its activities in the region.

The US also accuses Iran of encouraging allies in Yemen to attack Saudi targets. In a joint statement on Monday, the US, Saudi Arabia, the UAE and UK expressed concern over Middle East tensions and the dangers posed by Iranian "destabilizing activity" to peace and security in Yemen and the region.

Russia has become the largest supplier of crude oil to China in May, supported by strong demand from private refining companies beside the lower supply of Iran.
Imports from Russia reached 6.36 million tons in May, equivalent to 1.50 million barrels per day, according to data from the Chinese Customs Administration on Tuesday.
On the basis of the number of barrels per day, imports rose four percent from the same period a year ago, but stabilized compared with April when China's total crude oil imports reached a record monthly level.
For the first five months of the year, shipments from Russia reached 30.54 million tons, or 1.48 million bpd, up 9.8 percent year-on-year, according to customs data.
Iran's supply to China fell to 254,16 barrels a day in May from 789,137 barrels per day in April and 763,774 barrels per day a year ago.
China's two major oil companies, Sinopec and CNPC, stopped buying oil from Iran in May after the expiration of exemptions from US sanctions.
Imports from Saudi Arabia fell 25 percent last month from a year earlier to 1.108 million barrels per day from 1.53 million bpd in April.

US national security adviser John Bolton said Tuesday that his country was still ready to hold talks with Iran.

"The president (Donald Trump) has left the door open for genuine negotiations to completely and verifiably eliminate Iran's nuclear weapons program," Bolton said at a news conference held in the framework of the so-called Israeli-American-Russian security summit in Jerusalem. Its ballistic missiles and its support for international terrorism and its other harmful actions around the world. "

"All Iran has to do is to get through this open door," he said, in comments that came after the United States tightened sanctions on Tehran.

Iran's UN envoy Majid Takht Rawangi told reporters on Monday that his country would not accept talks with the United States while bowing to the threat of sanctions.

Bolton was speaking at the start of a meeting with his Israeli and Russian counterparts expected to focus on Iran and Syria.

The Gulf region has been under growing tension between the United States and its allies on the one hand, and Iran on the other, since Tehran reduced some of its obligations under the multilateral nuclear deal, signed in 2015, and pulled out of the United States last year.

The tension was exacerbated by the announcement by the Iranian Revolutionary Guard on Thursday that a US aircraft was on its way to infiltrate Tehran's airspace. The US military claims it was flying over the international waters of the Strait of Hormuz.

There is a need for “genuine regional dialogue” to address rising tensions in the Gulf, Iran’s Ambassador to the United Nations said on Monday, calling on Secretary-General António Guterres “to play a role” in bringing countries to the table.

Last week, an unmanned US drone was shot down by the Iranian military over what the US said were international waters in the Gulf, but Ambassador Ravanchi repeated Iran’s assertion on Monday, that the drone had been violating Iranian airspace when it was shot down.

Did you listen to the Video?

Big picture: I did listen to the video--every single word. Regards the speaker: The Iranian Ambassador to the UN spoke. I didn't hear any actual UN representatives talk on behalf of the UN organization. All I heard was the Iranian Ambassador's side of the story, as he was the only guy speaking. There is no word in the video from the UN organization, or behalf of any UN organization, or any UN employees or spokespeople confirming the coordinates, or anything for that matter.

If you want to check, google the UN Ambassador who was speaking and you will find he works at the UN, but is not an UN spokesperson for the UN. He speaks for Iran. He is the Iranian ambassador. A small, but crucial point.

As US-Iran tensions rise, so does the price of gold in Kurdistan Region

As US-Iran tensions rise, so does the price of gold in Kurdistan Region
.
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region – Gold prices are soaring in the Kurdistan Region, as a continuing escalation of US-Iran tensions stoking fear of conflict between the two countries is prompting a boom in investment in the famously stable commodity.

“Jewelry prices have soared recently due to recent developments and tensions between Iran and the United States. People are panicking. They fear that the value of dollar might plummet if tensions continue to escalate,” Diar Hamid, owner of Bayar Golds in Erbil, told Rudaw English.

One mithqal (an Islamic world measurement, equal to 4.25 grams) of gold cost 222,000 dinars ($186) on June 1; its price currently stands at 240,000 dinars ($201), an 8.1 percent rise in less than a month.

“People turn to purchase and invest in gold due to the fear that dollar or pound prices might fall in the aftermath of a conflict between the US and/or UK and Iran. That is why gold prices have recently been soaring,” Hamid said.

Tensions between the US and Iran have been rising for some time. The US imposed sanctions targeting Iran’s oil industry in November 2018, following its withdrawal in May of that year from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Actions (JCPOA), otherwise known as the Iran nuclear deal.

Acrimony between the two countries has piqued dramatically the past few weeks, following an uptick of violence in the Persian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. Iran shot down a US drone in the Gulf of Oman on June 20, while several oil tankers were attacked in the same area.

The US has repeatedly accused Iran of launching the tanker attacks – accusations Iran has vehemently denied. Trump subsequently signed an executive order on Monday, imposing new sanctions on Iran that specifically targeted Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamanei, his office, and those closely affiliated with him.

Hamid attributed the recent price hike to these regional political tensions. “Local events affect market activity, but don’t bear on gold prices. During times of political impasse in the Region, the gold market plateaus. Intense political activity, however, reinvigorates the market,” he said.

Echoing Hamid, Karwan Hassan, owner of Aros Jewelry in Erbil, told Rudaw English: “Recent tensions between Iran and the United States have greatly impacted the market in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as well, including the gold market, by virtue of being a neighbor to Iran. These tensions have impacted the market.”

With gold prices rising, supply is currently surpassing demand. “Nowadays more people sell their gold, and fewer people buy it because of the increase in gold prices,” Hamid said.

The flow of tourists from central and southern Iraq to the Kurdistan Region is also contributing to the reinvigoration of the gold market, he explained. “Tourists coming from southern Iraq also buy gold. Five in 20 gold customers are Arab tourists.”

To hit a moving target like that, you can bet they have satellites, or satellite access, but it is likely their own hardware. So, we will never know their truth!?

But, there will likely be other nuclear nations who can verify the location?

FP: US intelligence cuts the way to tie Iran's Trump to the base

Al-Qaedapolicycalls forIran

 2019/06/26 10:05:51

In spite of allegations by US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Tehran and al-Qaeda have often been more at odds than they have been since September 11, Foreign Affairs magazine reported.
According to the report, to strengthen Trump's management of its case against Iran, Pompeo, during his briefing to Congress, recently claimed to have close ties between Iran and al-Qaeda.
Hersh says CIA experts have disagreed with the allegations, saying any relationship between Iran and al-Qaeda is almost certainly not a complicity in terrorist acts.
Seth Jones of the Center for Strategic and International Studies said: "The administration is about sharks. We have now reached the lowest number of al-Qaeda members in that country since the events of September 11, and the number I have seen is less than Five (people) ".
The report stresses that because of religious hostility, Shiite Iran has been largely at odds with the Sunni-dominated al Qaeda since it grew up in the mountains of neighboring Afghanistan and Pakistan, while Tehran long before the events of September 11 supported the Northern Alliance, which was fighting against the Taliban Al Qaeda's host. After the events of September 11, Iran imposed house arrest on its al Qaeda figures, and these figures have since changed.
The skeptics in Congress fear that Pompeo is talking about a relationship with al-Qaeda to avoid seeking Congressional approval for the use of military force against Iran, since the current ratification since the events of September 11 still applies to any forces linked to al-Qaeda , Pointing out that this ratification allows the president to use force "against countries, organizations and persons who decide that they planned, ratified, committed or aided the terrorist attacks of September 11, 2001, or hosted such organizations or persons."
"It seems that Pompeo wants to argue that Iran's hosting of al Qaeda members justifies war, but even those who take a hawkish stance from Iran feel this is a dubious position," the magazine says.
"I have never called for war on this issue," the report quoted Thomas Jocelyn of the Defense for Democracies as saying. "There are indeed many examples of differences between the two (al-Qaeda and Iran), especially in Syria and Yemen. The arrest of some al-Qaeda members and their families In Iran a point of disagreement between the parties. "
"But human beings are usually deceptive, and there is no doubt that there was an agreement between Iran and al-Qaeda that would allow the latter to operate the mechanism for the transfer of major funds and members from inside Iran. This information from the Treasury and Foreign Ministries under the Obama presidency, beginning July 2011, .
"Many observers believe that because of the common hostility toward America, there is a kind of understanding between the two sides, but that understanding has always been subject to changes in mood based on the relationship between Washington and Tehran, Tehran tried after the US invasion of Iraq to exchange al-Qaeda figures in Tehran is a Mujahideen-e Khalq in Iraq, but there is no evidence that Tehran has aided in any terrorist act by al-Qaeda. On the contrary, evidence suggests that Iran has put an end there. "
"My reading of Iranian accounts indicates that they were willing to allow some members of al-Qaeda and their families, over several years, to live on their territory provided they were not involved in planning attacks," Jones was quoted as saying.
The report pointed out that suspicions were raised in mid-2003 when several bombs exploded in three residential compounds in Saudi Arabia, killing 27 people, including nine Americans. The militants in America accused Iran, saying the orders came from Saif al-Adl, He is imprisoned in Iran.
"I do not think there was any evidence at any time of active cooperation or support from Iran," the author quotes James Dobbins, who treated Iran a lot as President George W. Bush's envoy to Afghanistan after 9/11. There is something to communicate, and perhaps simply not to interfere in the affairs of al-Qaeda sometimes for any reason, in addition to it is known that the Iranian government is divided, does not know the right hand what the left hand doing.
According to the magazine, the US administration recently tried to accuse Iran of collaborating with the Taliban in Afghanistan. The Ministry of Defense published a timetable called the "Iranian Campaign for Malignant Influence," which included alleged Iranian ties to the May 31 bombing in Afghanistan, US soldiers, and the killing of four Afghan civilians.
"Iran's support for the Taliban has become more public and official in recent years, and Iran has provided material aid to the Taliban since at least 2007," the report quoted Pentagon spokeswoman Rebecca Riparik as saying. "Iranian support is from light weapons, explosives, mortars, heavy machine guns and rockets 107 mm, in addition to training on the tactics of small units, and the use of weapons systems.
"Although Iran plays an important role in Afghanistan and has a reasonable relationship with the Afghan government, it provides limited assistance to the Taliban, including training camps within the Iranian border," Hersh said, quoting Jones. But that stopped a decade ago, "he added." However, the person must put things in context, the largest external supporter of the Taliban is Pakistan, and in particular the main intelligence. "
"Iran was about to declare war on the Taliban after the latter attacked the Iranian consulate in Mazar-e-Sharif (1998)," he said, adding that after America expelled the Taliban from Afghanistan, Afghanistan's main cities In 2001, Iran helped reduce the influence of the Taliban in Afghanistan.

Dobbins noted Iran's pledge to pay $ 500 million for the reconstruction of Afghanistan at the donors' conference in Tokyo, more than twice as promised by the United States. Shortly after the Tokyo meeting, Bush included Iran, Iraq and North Korea in the axis of evil.

The report finds that, however, Iran continued to cooperate sporadically with Washington in Afghanistan, noting that after the fall of the Taliban, and while there was not a large US military presence, Iran offered to train and arm the Afghan army, and continued to fund the Northern Alliance to conduct operations Cleansing against al-Qaeda, according to Dobbins.

The author notes that Tehran extended its hand immediately after the events of September 11, arrested al-Qaeda members in Iran, issued a statement denouncing the attacks and supported the US invasion of Afghanistan against the Taliban. But Bush's son's speech, which Iran described as part of the axis of evil, "According to Iranian sources, Zarif said in an interview in the middle of the first decade of the 20th century that" it destroyed the positions of those who believed that helping America would pay off. "

However, Iran continues to try to negotiate with America by opening a back channel in the spring of 2003 to negotiate with the United States about its nuclear program, which was very small in time, and even negotiate its support for Hezbollah, noting that although those negotiations Was rejected by the Bush administration at the time, but it was the basis for the negotiations that led to the nuclear agreement a decade later in 2015.

"With Trump's rejection of the agreement today and his attempt to isolate and confront Iran again, the reformers and moderates in Iran have lost credibility, and it will not be impossible for the hardliners in Tehran to reconsider once again the relationship with al-Qaeda and the Taliban," Foreign Policy concludes. , But the evidence of active cooperation remains little at best, at least with al-Qaeda, according to experts.
