London has raised the alert level for its troops and diplomats in Iraq

BAGHDAD (Reuters) - London has raised the alert level for its forces and diplomats in Iraq because of heightened security risks from Iran, British media reported on Thursday (May 16, 2019).

The decision came after the British government's assessment of the gravity of the situation was similar to that of its US counterpart, who withdrew the non-essential US diplomats from Iraq because of an imminent threat to Iran.

The United States has made clear to its officials that the threat to Iran is real and there are "Iraqi factions belonging to the Iranian Revolutionary Guards are behind this threat, and from Trump's point of view, the threats are directly linked to Iran.

Brother Wiljor, I can’t believe it, yesterday Adam said stability is being proven on a daily basis.

Looks like the drums of war are getting loud.

Good evening brother Laid Back, if war breaks out, it will set this train back some time. It's a real shame, Iraq is making good progress, slow, but good, and now this. In the mean time, we patiently wait. Wishing all is well out your way my brother, be well 🙏

I think Adam is right. Getting more stable all the time. This is a glitch. It could give the Trump Administration leverage over Iraq, get them to implement changes, kick out the Iranians, put an American base in Iraq. If that happens, this thing is done.

Badr: These are the bodies that threaten American bases and not the popular crowd

BAGHDAD (Reuters) -
The leader of the Badr Organization, Karim al-Nuri, revealed on Thursday the bodies threatening US bases in Iraq, while ruling out war between the United States and Iran.
"The precautionary measures taken by the US State Department to prevent the travel and warning of its citizens and the closure of consular services is a chapter of the psychological, media and political war on Iran in order to bring them back to the negotiating table," Nuri said in an interview with the Russian news agency Sputnik.
Al-Nouri ruled out that there would be a war on the horizon between the two sides. It is an unlikely option for Washington to understand the repercussions of such a war on its interests and the region, as well as the success of the weapon of economic pressure on Iran.
Al-Nuri added that "such actions involve deliberate confusion on the Iraqi reality, and in relation to the popular mobilization of any potential threats to the American bases in Iraq, because the forces of the crowd are ordered by the commander-in-chief of the armed forces, which takes orders from Baghdad and not from any other party."
Al-Nuri pointed out that Iraq is linked to a common border with Iran over a thousand and three hundred kilometers is difficult to control completely, otherwise the United States would have more control of its border with Mexico, pointing out that there are many groups are a threat to American bases before the establishment of the popular crowd Such as those fighting in Syria for example and sympathizing with Iran.

He pointed out that the desire of the United States to enter the popular crowd is part of a battle in which Iraq is not a party or part of it is a desire not justified by any reality, the decision of war or neutrality is a central decision by the Iraqi government.

Germany to Resume Military Trainings in Iraq: Ministry

BasNews 17/05/2019 - 20:46 Published in Iraq

ERBIL - German Ministry of Defense said on Friday that it has decided to resume its military trainings in Iraq, pointing out that the threat level has lessened now.

The ministry explained that the decision came after a joint re-assessment by the coalition forces serving in Iraq which believe that the risk of the security situation has been lowered again and that their military advisors can continue their mission in the country soon.

Earlier on Wednesday morning, US Department of State ordered the withdrawal of its non-emergency employees from its embassy in Baghdad and consulate general in the Kurdistan Region capital Erbil.

It argued that the pro-Iranian Shi'ite militias could hurt the US citizens in the country.

Washington's decision led Germany and Netherlands to announce the suspension of their mission in Iraq and the Kurdistan Region as well for the same concerns.

If Iran does something stupid, I don't think the quote War would last very long, (kind of like the Saddam War.) The goat humpers LOVE to talk big. Not wise!!!

I feel it's coming and coming fast. Based on what Iran is stating and doing I feel it is just a matter if when. Also my gut feeling is this will be intense but short lived.  The outcome will be that Iran will have less influence in Iraq.

Iran is very foolish if they think Trump, Pompeo, and Bolton are going to play their games as Obama and Kerry did. Iran is going to stop their nuclear developments or they are going to pay a much larger price than they can possibly imagine.

I don’t believe we will ever have political stability in Iraq until Iran is forced out and I smell Russia in this mixture.  Heaven help us if Iran and Russia gains control of this Syria and Iraq. I don’t want any kind of war but Iran must be stopped from further nuclear development. Imo. 😌

Germany to resume military training in Iraq
(International: Euphrates News) The German Ministry of Defense announced that it will resume its mission to train the military in northern Iraq, after reasserting the security situation in the country reduced the level of threats.
The ministry said Friday that the "reassessment of the security situation" carried out by the US-led coalition forces in Iraq, noting that the German military present in their base will soon resume their mission.
Germany decided last Wednesday to freeze the task of training Iraqi military, against the background of raising the United States level of security threats in Iraq to the highest degree under the pretext of "increased risks by Iran and its allies."
The Netherlands also suspended the mission of its security mission in Iraq, and British media reported that London also raised the level of security threats to its military and civilian personnel in the country.
