Yota691.....many thanks for all your info. Some people just have a need to stir the pot, which does not help anybody. There are people on this sight who are vulnerable to this pot stirring. With this having happened and the situation with Iran, it is wrong to call out that the us or any other nation is about to bomb Iran. REGARDLESS of whether you agree that this will or think it should happen. I can't copy n paste on this phone but I have just read a news report that the Saudi crown prince has invite the Arab nations within the region to urgent talks in Mecca on May 30th in order to discuss the issue of Iran. Hopefully, they will be able to find a resolution which avoids air strikes by any country. To continually hype people up about this investment is wrong. Yes we all what it to happen months ago bit it hasn't. There is a huge difference between being positive and just hyping things for the hell of it.

Peshmerga - dvidshub - Sgt. Lisa Soy

The US-led Global Coalition against ISIS announced resuming training Kurdistan's Peshmerga forces, after the training had been suspended since last Sunday due to tensions in the region, a Kurdish official said.

A special action plan for 2019 has been set in cooperation with the coalition forces, said deputy Chief of Staff for Operations the Major General Qaraman Kamal.

On May 15, the United States, Germany and the Netherlands announced suspending training of the Peshmerga and other Iraqi forces due to tensions in the region.

Tensions have escalated recently between the US and Iran with increasing concerns about a potential US-Iran war. Earlier the US pulled some diplomatic staff from its embassy in Baghdad following weekend attacks on four oil tankers in the Gulf.

Iraq to Investigate Sunday's Rocket Attack on Green Zone

 BasNews   20/05/2019 - 00:49  Published in Iraq

ERBIL - The Security Committee in the Iraqi Parliament is said to investigate on Monday into Sunday's rocket attack on the fortified Green Zone where the US embassy and other foreign diplomatic buildings are located.

Earlier the day, several Katyusha rockets fell in the middle of the Green Zone, resulting in no casualties or damages to the area, reports said.

Iraqi Police said that it had found a rocket launcher in the district of al-Sina'a, eastern Baghdad, as cited by Kurdistan 24.

A police source explained to AFP that initial investigations indicate that the rockets were "fired from an open field," near Baghdad.

Badir al-Ziyadi, an Iraqi lawmaker and member of the security committee, said in a statement that he believes the attack was not attempted to target the US embassy in Iraq, but that it was an indirect message to the Iraqi parliament and government, as well.

The people of Iraq are not fond of the Council of Representatives and the government, he said, without giving further details in this regard.

Trump vows to ‘end’ Iran if it threatens US again

President Trump threatened to destroy Iran in a tweet sent in the wake of reports that a rocket was fired into Baghdad’s heavily fortified Green Zone less than a mile away from the US Embassy.

“If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran. Never threaten the United States again!,” Trump tweeted Sunday afternoon.

It’s unclear exactly what promoted Trump’s posting, but news outlets reported explosions in Iraq’s capital and that a rocket launcher was discovered in eastern Baghdad, an area that is home to Iranian-backed Shiite militias.

Roads leading into the Green Zone were briefly closed and no casualties were reported.

Amid escalating tensions between the US and Iran there have been concerns that Iraq, where Iranian forces and about 5,000 American troops are stationed, could become entangled in the standoff.

A Saudi Arabian diplomat said his country doesn’t want to go to war with Iran but but will defend itself after two Saudi oil tankers were targeted by acts of sabotage off the coast of the United Arab Emirates last week.

No group has claimed responsibility for the sabotage but US officials in reports signaled that Iran encouraged Iraq-based Iranian militants to carry it out.

Riyadh also accused Tehran of being behind a drone attack on two oil pumping stations in the Kingdom, which Yemen’s Iranian-aligned Houthi group claimed responsibility for.

“The kingdom of Saudi Arabia does not want war in the region and does not strive for that… but at the same time, if the other side chooses war, the kingdom will fight this with all force and determination and it will defend itself, its citizens and its interests,” Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Abel al-Jubeir told reporters.

The top commander of Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps, the country’s elite fighting force, echoed the same sentiments through state media on Sunday.

“Iran is not looking for any type of war, but it is fully prepared to defend itself,” said Maj. Gen. Hossein Salami.

Tensions have been heightened between Washington and Tehran after reports said Iran was planning to carry out attacks on American troops and ships in the region.

Earlier this month, the White House sent warships and bombers into the Persian Gulf to counter any threats from Iran and evacuated non-emergency personnel from Iraq.

The US Navy said the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier strike group conducted exercises in the Arabian Sea over the weekend in a show the US military’s “lethality and agility to respond to threat” and to protect US interests.

Trump has employed such bluster before including when he was negotiating with North Korea to ditch its nuclear weapons program.

Responding to reports that North Korea had succeeded in attaching nuclear warheads to ballistic missiles, Trump warned leader Kim Jong-un not to threaten the US.

“North Korea best not make any more threats to the United States,” Trump told reporters in August 2017. “They will be met with fire and fury like the world has never seen.”

Iraqis will support US against Iran, if war erupted - political analysts

trump

Most of Iraqi citizens and political blocs will support US against Iran, in case a conflict erupted between the two countries, political analysts told The Baghdad Post on Sunday.

In response to US President Donald Trump’s tweet that was posted on his Twitter account Sunday: “If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran. Never threaten the United States again!,” a political analyst replied to him saying: "Most of Iraqi people  will support you to finish the terrorist Mullah Regime in Iran.”

If Iran wants to fight, that will be the official end of Iran. Never threaten the United States again!

— Donald J. Trump (@realDonaldTrump) May 19, 2019

The analyst explained that Iraqis are fed up with all the terrorist militias supported by Iran, who are turning their lives into hell.

“All Iraqis suffer from this criminal regime. We all stand with United States,” he added.

Iranian Militias in Iraq and Syria (IMIS) have caused Iraqis so much trouble, due to their terrorist acts, that have made their daily no better than ISIS era.

There are about 30 militias in Iraq with at least 125,000 active-duty fighters and varying loyalties. Many have worked in tandem with the Iraqi military in fighting ISIS terrorist group, and all report to the prime minister’s office, who all are controlled by Iran, receiving orders from the terrorist IRGC directly.

The leader of the Sadrist movement Moqtada al-Sadr on Monday warned of the consequences of a US-Iranian war on Iraq.

"I'm not fanning the war between America and Iran, and I'm not putting Iraq in this war and making it a battlefield for the Iranian-American conflict," he said in a tweet on Twitter.

"We need a serious stand with the senior people to keep Iraq out of this vicious war that will eat the green and the land and make it a pillar," he said. "We need to raise the voice of the Iraqi people condemning the war and Iraq's involvement in the war."

Sadr warned: "If Iraq does not stand a one-sided and serious, then that war will be the end of Iraq if it is run, and I was sorry to warn."

He said: "This does not fuel a war that you will be burning. Both sides are not qualified to enter the war and do not want it. Neither Iraq nor its people bear another war. We need peace and reconstruction."

The leader of the Sadrist movement that "any party that infuses Iraq by war and makes it a battlefield for the enemy will be an enemy of the Iraqi people."

Sadr's warning comes after a Katyusha rocket hit the center of the Green Zone without causing any casualties on Sunday. According to the Center for Security Information.

A security source told Shafak News that the rocket landed near the US embassy, which sounded the alarm immediately after the explosion.

image.thumb.png.9ab08304ddf34844ee64336f2c84ffc6.png

The United States confirmed that it will not close its consulate in Arbil, capital of the Kurdistan Region.
This confirmation came on the tongue of the Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Relations in the Parliament of Kurdistan, after a meeting with the official of the Department of Foreign Relations in the Kurdistan Regional Government.
The head of the committee Ribawar Abdullah in a press conference after the meeting that the official Foreign Relations Department Falah Mustafa confirmed the improved relationship between Baghdad and the Kurdistan Region.
He also conveyed Mustafa's assertion that America promised the province that it would not close its consulate in Arbil, in addition to its continued support for Kurdistan.
On Wednesday, Washington ordered its non-essential staff in Iraq to leave immediately and demanded that commercial transport be released as soon as possible.
But US officials were keen to say Wednesday that the decision on US personnel in Iraq does not mean there is imminent military action by the United States against Iran or one of its allies in the region.
However, Washington has continued to strengthen its military presence in the Gulf region to counter Iranian threats, she said, recently sent a carrier aircraft and strategic bombers B-52 and an additional warship and a Patriot missile battery to the region.

Synopsis, well said.

While I would dare say a lot of this is Sword Bantering from the Mullahs still thinking they are calling the shots I feel they are gravely mistaken.

1st off their own people don't like them and want change. They order hangings for close to no reason at all of innocent women, girls and children.

obama is no longer in charge to fund them or play nicey nice....These days you are more likely to get the Horn should you want to mess with the Bull.

In short this comes down to slapping your Girl Friend and calling her names while her older brothers are just waiting outside with the Varsity Football team, the Booze Brothers (the drinking club that had a Motorcycle Problem) and two Chapters of B.A.C.A.....Toss in a few Light Marine unit and Iran is Toast.

Oh Ya.....The USAF has a bunch of those M.O.A.B things they are just waiting to test out.......

Tomorrow MAY shed some light on other world leaders perspective and positions on what just happened. A "seemingly" "targetless" "dud" "rocket" "strike" WITH "zero" "casualties" "launched" ON CLEARLY "foreign" "soil" IS STILL AN INTERNATIONAL "incident" . The up coming UN meeting on the Status Of Iraq WILL LIKELY force the OTHER JCPOA "participants" AND OTHER World Leaders to take a "necessary" BUT "reluctant" "uncomfortable" "stance" WITH The United States Of America AGAINST the Insanians, to INCLUDE the Insanian IRGC.

YEP!!!

NO MO INSTEX Financial Connectivity FOR the Insanians to INCLUDE the Insanian IRGC!!!

I suspect the "diplomatic" AND/OR "military" "action" WILL GO QUICKLY AND the Insanians, to INCLUDE the Insanian IRGC, WILL BE GONE, GONE, GONE!!!

The security expert Kazem al-Hajj, on Monday, fabricated the US embassy in Baghdad blew up the Green Zone near the unknown soldier, noting that the bombing aims to accuse America of the popular crowd and resistance factions to carry out against its embassy in Baghdad.

"The explosion that took place in the vicinity of the US embassy in the Green Zone may be behind the US itself in order to escalate the security situation and embarrass the Iraqi situation," he said.

"The bombing coincided with the statements of the new US ambassador in Baghdad, who said that Iraq would be a wreck if the war between the United States and Iran was to start, indicating the ill intentions of the United States in Iraq."

"What happened yesterday night in the Green Zone may be followed by the American side accusing the popular crowd and the resistance factions of detonating the bomb and targeting its embassy in Baghdad, which brings Iraq into a new conflict with the American side," he said.

Baghdad:

Security expert Safa al-Asim on Monday hinted that a third party was involved in the rocket attacks against the US embassy in Baghdad, pointing out that there was no interest for Iran in igniting the war in the region.

"Other parties may be involved in the attacks against the US embassy in Baghdad and against the Gulf interests in the region to ignite the war against Iran and the destruction of Iraq and the region," al-Asam told a news conference.

"Iran is trying to calm the situation and it can not at the moment start a war in the region that will destroy large parts of its strategic interests in the region," he said.

"The third party may be the Turkish or Israeli intelligence to push the region into a full-scale war to benefit from the destruction of Iraq and Iran," he said.

In my opinion, with OTHER Country embassies in the area, OTHER Country satellite imagery would pinpoint WHERE the Katyusha rocket came FROM. OTHER Countries WOULD ALSO KNOW the area CONTROLLED by WHERE the Katyusha rocket came from TO IDENTIFY the culprit(s). NOT to mention the cell phone surveillance to CONFIRM the INDIVIDUAL characters ASSOCIATED WITH THIS INTERNATIONAL "incident".

Description

The Katyusha multiple rocket launcher is a type of rocket artillery first built and fielded by the Soviet Union in World War II. Multiple rocket launchers such as these deliver explosives to a target area more quickly than conventional artillery, but with lower accuracy and requiring a longer time to reload. Wikipedia

No. built: ~10,000
Produced: 1941
In service: 1939–present
