Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki was in the process of taking office as the government.
Abadi said during a meeting with the leaders of his victory coalition that he had already taken the decision to arrest former Prime Minister Nuri al-Maliki on charges of causing the fall of three Iraqi provinces by the elements of the organization "da'ash" terrorist, but internal and regional pressures prevented the issuance in the last moments
Abadi said that the crime of one-third of the country's territory in the hands of the terrorist elements and the four-year war that followed should not go unpunished, calling on current Prime Minister Adel Abdul-Mahdi to show courage and arrest all those responsible for these disasters and not to take it into account.
Abadi reiterated that the government of the former president Nuri al-Maliki is the one who summoned the US forces to Iraq again, on 24/6/2014 after the entry of the terrorist group Daqash and drop it to the provinces of the country as it is documented in the United Nations documents and documents exchanged between the two countries, Strategic framework between Iraq and America.

And then there is Sadr.  Remember him from the elections. ( If nominated I will not run if elected I will not serve. )  screaming from the rooftops to stop all the corruption.  And Maliki was the “ Anti Allah” It seems he either got scared off or paid off. The last interview I saw from him the jist of it was ( can’t we all just get along. )  not a bad message but not the solution 😎

I don't think it's a distraction.  Abadi is taking his life in his hands by calling for Maliki's arrest.  Very courageous!

Although, this is a dumb reason not to have done it himself - "internal and regional pressures prevented the issuance in the last moments".  Maybe they threatened his life at that time, but he feels safe now, for some reason.

Something's going on.  Wish I knew what it was.

Abadi had 4 years to arrest Maliki if he had the courage to but now has decided to let another PM do the dirty work.

It reminds me of Trump cleaning out the trash in the USA, he’s doing things past presidents didn’t have the balls to do.

I hate to break the news to Abadi but this PM an al Sadr don’t have the balls to do the dirty work either...

The source said: "In Iraq, we should always look for the political background of any decision or a surprise step, although the incident confirmed the sinking of the need to conduct formal parliamentary investigations, but the main reason to examine all files related to the city of Mosul is the sharp and hidden disagreement between Maliki and Abbadi on the post First Vice-President of the Republic ". He added that "the race is heated between the two men to go, with the determination of the coalition of construction (Maliki and al-Amiri, along with Khamis Dagger) Maliki's nomination, at a time when media reports confirm that the reform will not accept the assumption of Maliki's office again, but tends to be attributed to Abadi, as compensation for his loss to the post The prime minister, which is denied sources of wisdom, noting that "there is no similar talk in recent times."

"The parliamentary investigation line, whose results appear to be always in the political investment bazaar, has already issued a report last month on fact-finding in the city of Mosul, which is also part of the efforts of political forces to settle their accounts from the north gate" . The newspaper, quoting a political source from Mosul, did not name him as saying that "the report, which warned of serious sectarian tension, was caused by negative practices and several factors ... resulted in the emergence of a new pledge of allegiance and the reawakening of its elements. "He said.According to the deputies of the building, "the report was politicized; the response to the spread of corruption in the city to the hegemony of economic committees belonging to the crowd, and control of projects and land and auctions ,,, accusations denied by leading sources in the crowd in her talk to the news, pointing out that" Once the offices of the fake claim to belong to the crowd, was closed by the Directorate of Security, adding that "our troops stationed outside the city, and several kilometers away." "The city is witnessing an extension of the tribal mobilization forces, supported by some political figures such as MP Ahmad al-Jubouri, whose brother Musa leads the cavalry cavalry, and the deputy Abdul Rahim al-Shammari, who leads his brother Abdul Khaliq, the crowd of crowds, crowds, Crowds supported by Turkey and the Kurdistan region, active in Nineveh, which is responsible for a significant number of dirty operations, from killing, kidnapping, theft and extortion ... and no accountant.
