Dominigion Republic Punta Cana !

Good morning DV ! Well my wife and I are blasting off for Punta Cana ! It's cold this morning....and I'm ready for some sunshine. Sorry if I've got to disconnect for awhile and hopefully we will come home to an RV party. And no we won't be good.... just good at it !

Beautiful country.  My sister in law goes on a mission trip to a orphanage there every year (RIKIA).  Of course the orphanage is not in the same area you will be in but the weather should be nice and just perfect for ya.  She says at night, with the windows wide open it is perfect sleeping weather.  Hope it's perfect for you, we are in the 20's today in Tennesse, coldest it's been all winter down in single digit at night.  We dream of seeing the sunshine again, continuous rain and flooding....have a wonderful and safe trip

Visited the Dominican Republic way back in 1986....Really enoyed the place ....Kind folks, beautiful beaches, awesome seafood ( I do adore!)  etc

 

My hotel was in the Capital city  (Santo Domingo)  but I used to get around by bus practically every day and saw some really pretty areas  ( Boca Chica, Samana', other places whose name I can't remember.....)

 

The only problem was that every village, town or beach I'd go to on the island ( on the S.D. part of the Hispaniola island to be exact, as the other half is the republic of Haiti) was literally full of Italians........At least at the time......

 

 

But I do recall a great vacation.......

Well, there's a buddy of mine who does spend 4 / 5 months over there each year and enjoying it to the fullest in all aspects.......He rents a small house at a super-affordable price

 

 

IMHO ....4 / 5 months there sounds kind of boring......20 days or even a month sounds more like it.......But to each his own of course.....
