Trump Lied About Getting Special Permission From El Paso Fire Dept, Says Fire Dept

The president bragged about his crowd size and claimed he got special permission to let 10,000 people inside the venue for his rally in El Paso on Monday.

President Donald Trump told the crowd at his rally in El Paso, Texas, on Monday that he got special permission from the El Paso Fire Department to let 10,000 people inside the El Paso County Coliseum.

El Paso Fire Department spokesman Enrique D. Aguilar told The El Paso Times that not only did the fire department not give Trump special permission, but the Coliseum had about 6,500 people in it during the president’s rally. Aguilar says that number was at capacity and well within its standard allowance.

The spokesman added that “it might be 10,000 with the people outside” total, but the fire department didn’t track the number of people outside the venue. While the number Trump quoted about his attendees might not have been far off, he blatantly lied that he got special permission, according to Aguilar.

“Now the arena holds 8,000,” said Trump, during the rally. “And thank you, fire department. They got in about 10,000. Thank you, fire department. Appreciate it.”

Trump also claimed 75,000 people signed up to attend the rally, according to ABC News. The rally was dedicated to advocating for the border wall between the U.S. and Mexico and didn’t do much to mend the relationship between officials in the city and the president. 

 

Trump’s has previously claimed El Paso was one of the country’s most dangerous cities prior to the construction of a government-sanctioned fence dividing the city and Ciudad Juárez in Mexico. Additionally, Trump’s campaign has even circulated a video that alleges he made the city safer.

El Paso was never one of the most dangerous cities in the country, as per the New York Times. The publication notes that the city “has had a consistently lower crime rate than the average among more than 20 similarly sized cities, according to data from the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

Former Rep. Beto O’Rourke (D-Texas), who had previously challenged Republicans for a Senate seat, and other El Paso leaders led a counter-demonstration to Trump’s rally on Monday. Trump addressed their protest at the rally and bloviated about the number of people in attendance yet again:

“A young man who’s got very little going for himself, except he’s got a great first name… He challenged us. So we have let’s, say, 35,000 people tonight. And he has 200 people, 300 people. Not too good,” said Trump, who then said of O’Rourke:

“In fact, what I’d do, what I would say is that may be the end of his presidential bid.”

Estimates of how many people were at O’Rourke’s protest aren’t exact, but the number appears to be at least 5,000, according to several reports.

Whether he lied or not, it was his estimate, just like it was the estimates of Robert Francis O'Rourke attendees, or his bias media supporters, or from several other reports. 

Let me throw this your way, I can say, and you probably would believe it,  its up to you Shabs, but it seems you do tend to believe what left wings write.   I was there, the one with the red cap on, the one wearing and holding the sign "Build the Wall",  it sure did seem like the count was accurate.  All I could see was lot's and lots of red caps.  Unfortunately the media won't show his attendees at his rallies. I wonder why? 

Number count or not, his message was strong, sincere and he speaks for the constitutional peoples of this great Nation.  So pick and choose tedious reasons to attack him, but you and I know he is getting the job done...take notice, stop the hating on an individual that is working for the people. 

Please don't throw in my face about a President or that of any leader, should not lie to the people, we are far past that, due to previous leaders and the media.

Not my Red Ruby Shabbs, but seriously, is this earth shattering news.  All politicians lie and exaggerate the truth.  It’s a non story but it’s built up like it’s going to change the country.  In the big picture it means zip, unlike Barry who lied about the ACA.  Now that was a whopper of a lie that hurt a lot of people financially.  My point is after the Senate report about NO Russian Collusion the Media feels the need to keep the hatred of Trump going.  They will keep throwing accusations, and crap in the fan until they find anything that sticks.  They have been doing smear tactics against all  Republican 

Presidents in my life time. It’s just gotten more vicious and personal under Trump’s Administration.  Do you think Barry had to withstand the scrutiny and out right treasonous activities that Trump has received?  NO. Not even close.

Opinion accepted, Pitch....and don't fret the rubies, I know exactly who dropped those, for timelines don't lie.  As for your last statement....I find that levels of intense scrutiny seem to have a direct correlation with the character and moral fiber of the person in question.  If in fact it were only happening from the Left, we wouldn't still be hearing "Lock her up"....or he's a "Muslim Kenyan with a Fake Birth Certificate".  As always, just my opinion.

Okay Shabs, okay...you have a thin veil to hide your real intentions. (you did throw it in my face)

I think the answer to your quote would be, no one is okay with any official lying...but we're in the era of it being exposed more so than before.  We the people need to stay focus on the issues at hand and stop all the knit picking.  Now when there is a an issue that is affecting our liberties and freedoms, then yes  protect them to the best of your ability.

independent voters. And President Trump is forcing the Democratic Socialist to show that they really stand for infanticide, eliminating air travel, and all diesel powered ocean going vessels, they want to kill all cows and farm animals because of flatulence, and pay people who don't 

want to work.

I've noticed your new catch phrase... Let me ask, are all democrats socialists, or is it just anyone who disagrees with Trump? If it is the latter, then you will need to add a few republicans to your new catch phrase. LOL

Anyone supporting the current Democratic Leadership is a Democratic Socialist. You should probably look up the word and what it means. My opinions of RINOs and establishment swamp things are well-documented here.
