WASHINGTON DC (Kurdistan 24) – US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo arrived Tuesday evening in Baghdad in an unannounced visit to meet with Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul Mahdi, Iraqi sources revealed.

Earlier on Tuesday, the State Department announced that Pompeo—who had been in Finland to attend a Foreign Ministers conference of Arctic Circle countries—had cancelled a scheduled visit to Germany that day “due to pressing issues.”

The State Department did not reveal to where Pompeo was traveling instead of Germany, standard practice for visits of high-level US officials to Iraq and Afghanistan.

Pompeo’s visit to Baghdad comes as tensions between the US and Iran are increasing. On Sunday evening, in a highly unusual move, White House National Security Advisor John Bolton issued a statement saying that the US was moving an aircraft carrier strike group and a bomber task force to the Middle East in response to threatening moves from Iran.

was $30 million dollars worth of dinar. And it seems that the last biggest obstacle for any RV is 

Iran. This isn't going to work out well for the insane Iranian leadership.

because they were backed up by the U.S. Government. My mom asked, "What if the Government

Mike Pompeo, the US secretary of state, should have arrived in Germany to meet German Chancellor Angela Merkel and his German counterpart Haiku Mas. 
But Pompeo canceled his visit to Germany hours before he met with the German Chancellor and went to Baghdad. 
"The cancellation of the visit of the US Secretary of State signifies the" breakdown "of the friendship between Germany and the United States of America, according to the German newspaper" Zued Deutsche Zeitung. " 
According to the newspaper, Pompeo's decision to cancel his visit to Germany is part of "shameless" diplomatic decisions.
She said: "What was described after Donald Trump took over the presidency of the United States just over two years, the German-American friendship (crash)." 
According to the newspaper, the United States of America is no longer the ally of Germany in many cases, and became a rival.

"The purpose of the meeting is to inform Iraqi officials of the increased threat posed by America so that they can effectively protect US forces," Pompeo said.
And expressed his country's support for Iraqi sovereignty, saying: "We do not want to enter any party in their country and certainly not by attacking another state inside Iraq." 
Asked before the meetings whether there was a danger to the Baghdad government from Iran, although that raised US concerns over Iraq's sovereignty, he replied: "No, in general this is our position since the national security strategy was introduced at the beginning of the administration of President Donald Trump." 
Asked about the decision to move the aircraft carrier and bombers to the region, Pompeo said that "Washington wants to defend its interests from the Iranian threat and to ensure that it has the necessary forces to achieve this goal." 
"The message we sent to the Iranians, I hope, puts us in a position where we can deter and the Iranians will think twice about attacking US interests."

Former Deputy Prime Minister Bahaa al-Araji revealed on Wednesday the reason for the visit of US Secretary of State Mark Pompeo, a surprise to the capital Baghdad. 
"The visit of Pompeo to Baghdad is a warning to Iraq to stand with the Islamic Republic of Iran, or what does it mean to say that we want an independent Iraq," Araji said in a statement. 
"They believe that the Iranian decision is dominant in the Iraqi political and government scene, and here we say that Pompeo's demand that Iraq be with US decisions against Iran is against the independence of Iraq, which Pompeo calls for." 
Araji stressed that "all political forces must unite their position and support the government to be a national Iraqi decision, not American or Iranian."

The Iraqi Nation Party said on Wednesday that the visit of US Secretary of State Mark Pompeo to Baghdad came to "liberate Iraq from the Iranian Revolutionary Guards." 
"America is well aware of the seriousness of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard and its militias taking the political, government and security decision in Iraq," said party leader Mithal al-Alusi. "America is working hard to free Iraq from this control."
